So, apparently a Free Clinic has just opened up in town. Setup in the slums of Prospect, this place is run by Dr. Janek Masing, an Estonian immigrant. The man treats the homeless and the poor for little to nothing, and his knowledge of medicine is apparently very good. When asked in a news report why he doesn't apply his skills at a 'real hospital', the man simply smiled and shrugged.

Homeless Hysterical Over Escaped S Mon Jan 21 Muffin

Police and animal control were called in today when a large number of snakes were sighted near the corner of F Street and Maple. Josh Greer, a man who has taken up residence nearby, said, "I was coming out of Walgreens when I saw this *BLEEP* boa constructor go by. Long as a *BLEEP* bus." Reports ranged in size from arm-length to seven meters. Witnesses described them as being white, yellow, gold, and orange in color.
One man (name withheld) insisted he saw thousands of the snakes pouring out of the stomach of a living scarecrow. He was arrested under suspicion of possession of narcotics.
Herpetologist Alana Meyers was called to the scene, but could find none of the reptiles. She commented, "It sounds like these were designer breeds. 'Butter corn' and 'hypomelanistic' corn snakes. Possibly an 'albino Columbian'."
The public is advised to stay calm, and to call 911 if any of the snakes are sighted.

Watchman Injured in Heist Wed Jan 23 Nienna

A night watchman is in hospital in critical condition after a robbery at the Jacobson estate in Solana Beach. Police alerted by the breached security system arrived to find the watchman, 51, suffering from two undisclosed wounds. The estate is home to one of the largest private collections of pre-Columbian art in southern California.
Further details have not been released. Officers declined to comment on the investigation.

On the afternoon of January 25th, a video was posted to Youtube, called 'OWEN BLANCHARD WRESTLES BEER-DRINKING MOTORBOATING PANDA'. By that evening, it had over 100,000 views and more on the way. Several other videos from other points of view of the same event are posted by different names, including 'omg panda drinks beer, gets hugs, nuzzles boobs' and 'Redhead gets panda cuddles', which all show the panda coming into a Prospect bar called the Smoke and Barley, trundling up to the bar, and - in the confused rush - taking a beer from the bar and drinking it while bar employees and security hold back the bystanders. Owen Blanchard, famous wrestler, is shown picking the struggling panda bear up off its feet at one point in the video to keep it away from an attractive red-haired woman. The panda seems to panic but does not attack Blanchard, who sets it down again a few feet away while being admonished by the woman, who then approaches the animal only to be pulled down by it in what appears to be a gesture of affection. Later, the giant panda moves to follow the woman out of the bar before it's distracted by going back for another beer, then apparently taking a bathroom break. Eventually, the panda meanders out of the bar - and away from the video - before Animal Control or the police can arrive.
The evening news runs a story proclaiming that the animal is still at large, and that no escaped animals have been reported from any zoo. Theories suggest that the panda, obviously used to interacting with humans, may have been the property of an illegal collector.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating a 7-year-old girl who has been classified as missing.
Tilly Layton, 7, was last seen around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at her parents' home, said PPD Lt. Gene Rudikoff.
The front door had been locked with a deadbolt, but the young girl is able to unlock it. Around 8:30 p.m., the girl's parents heard the dog bark and discovered that the front door was closed, but unlocked, and Tilly was gone.
"She wasn't removed by force," Rudikoff noted. "There wasn't any forced entry."
Tilly was last seen wearing a blue fleece jacket, a yellow bumblebee shirt and rainbow pajama pants. She was not wearing shoes.

Children Brutally Murdered Sun Jan 27 Anne

Dateline Prospect, CA
Neighbors discovered a horror show today in the normally quiet area near North Beach. Neighbor Betsy Ross, 75, noticed that she hadn't had to yell at the Jones kids to get off her yard for several days. Curious, she went over to visit their house which is when she noticed the gulls on the back porch.
"It was horrible," Ms. Ross said. "The children were being eaten by the gulls. Those poor, innocent children. If only they'd just stayed off my lawn when they were alive, maybe they wouldn't have been killed now... the little shits."
Authorities aren't saying what happened officially, but one anonymous source told us it was the worst scene he'd ever walked in on. "The parent's bedroom was a horror show," said the source, his voice cracking. "There was blood and gobs of flesh everywhere. Every surface was covered in gore."
Police aren't saying if the parents are suspects in the brutal murder of the children, but they have labeled them as 'persons of interest' and are asking for anyone with information about them to please come forward.

Bizarre Murder at the Animal Shelt Mon Feb 04 Dmitrius

A woman was murdered last night at the Prospect No-Kill Animal Shelter. The killer reportedly bit a piece of flesh out of the woman's neck and shoulder and then beat her to death with the floor polisher she had been using at the time. While the video is of poor quality it is clear that the suspect is a black male about 6'3 and 300 lbs. He also appears to be homeless. Oddly enough, the suspect freed all the animals in the shelter except two dogs and three cats. All of these animals were pure white in color. Police are still trying to establish a motive in this case and the suspect is at large. If you have any leads as to the identity of this maniac, you are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 555-1234. Boating Accident Turns Lethal Mon Feb 25 Casper

Yesterday two men went fishing a few miles off the coast. Two old friends out on a trip into open waters to drink some beer and catch some fish. One of the two men had gone overboard and the other, a disabled young man, had no way of calling for help or really helping his friend. Last night Patrons of the local theme tavern Sideshow were awed and amazed by what appeared to be an actual sighting of Jack Frost right here in California. This reporter was privileged to be among the patrons thanks to a tip from up north. Jack wowed the crowd with his frosty prestidigitation creating frost and cold wind out of nothing before bestowing the bartender with a business card. I was able to catch up with the hilarious Character outside the Club for a brief interview. It seems Jack is in town promoting a new Brewery, North Winds Brewery. Their campaign slogan is "putting the chill in summer" with their unique catalog of winter ales. This promotion will be ongoing culminating in a special surprise come this Fourth of July Jack assures us. Meanwhile he will be working his frosty magic around town! Don't forget to approach him if you see him for a winter ale coupon. Soon to be available in stores all through Prospect. He is a delight this reporter for one was certainly transported back to his childhood in Michigan!

Grand Opening At Carnegie Theatre Sat Mar 16 Theatre Critic

It was with some anticipation that this reporter set off to take in the opening of the Carnegie Theatre, located in the heart of downtown. Nicolette Carnegie had managed to secure the Druesdale Troupe for the inaugural event for the Theatre.
Once seated, this reporter was initially terribly disappointed, as it was announced that the prima ballerina, the great Claire Duvalle, had taken ill, and an as of yet untested understudy was to dance Odette/Odile for this performance. This reporter prepared for, at best, a mediocre performance, with the rest of the troupe doing their best to shore up the understudy.
The first scene, before the Swan Queen appears, was very well done, as was expected by a seasoned troupe. Prince Sigfried, danced by Dmitri Gruzdyev, Kirov trained, was delightful, and this reporter was sure that he would be able to hold the performance together, no matter what.
Then the moment of truth: the scene at the lake, where we meet Odette for the first time. This reporter is happy to say, that all trepidation vanished with this first scene, as Grace Lee Gow danced a most incredible Odette. One would think she was born especially to dance this role. Her technique was exquisite, with nothing to indicate that this was a first performance for her.
If Miss Gow's Odette was perfection, her Odile was pure seduction. The two performances were unlike each other, but clearly the same dancer. A marvelous performance.
The after show reception was very well attended, with a number celebrities there to support the opening of the theatre. Ms Carnegie should be very pleased, a grand start to the season, and this reporter hopes to see many more performances of such caliber in the future.

Gang Shooting at Hospital leaves 2 Fri Mar 22 Arec

Gang violence spilled right over onto the steps of the hospital on Sunday. Authorities believe that a gang member, fleeing retribution carjacked a car with a couple of bystanders in it. The car crashed in the emergency lane of St. Jude Hospital and a shootout transpired in the parking lot. The owners of the stolen vehicle were injured in the accident but were last reported in stable condition. No gang members were arrested. Police have distributed a sketch of the carjacker in hopes of arresting those involved in this dangerous display. The suspect is under six feet tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. May be suffering from burns to hands and face.

A new video has gone viral on the net even prompting a lighthearted news cover on the 'hoax'.
The video is chopping and clearly shot by camera phone it shows a one of the gangs causing trouble lately tearing down the street whooping and shouting various lewd things seeming to be in pursuit of a woman. "Shit... shit... call the cops or something." Is heard from the one taking film and as the pack of street trash bolts down an alley there is a started cry. Yet it's not that of a woman being caught. One of the thugs goes flying back out of the alley tumbling head over heels before slamming into a pair of trashcans sending debris everywhere. The crack of gunshots before some kind of bellow that doesn't sound human but then again doesn't some completely animal.
"Holy fuck did you hear that!?" Rushing across the street it's a good view of the cracked pavement as it's jostled about in blurry flashes of a random street. Peeking around the corner there is no sign of the woman but the thugs are scattering about some bleeding one in a dumpster another dangling from a fire escape. *CRACK* A body comes flying through the wall of the nearby abandoned warehouse hitting a wall with a powerful *THUD* "FUCK!" jumping back the camera man starts to flee catching a blurry image of some massive hair figure.
The internet is abuzz with this sighting of 'Bigfoot' experts calling it a hoax for it being so far out of it's natural habit. 4Chan claims it's a man/ape hybrid super hero. The media is calling it a hoax but an imaginative figure for this latest vigilanty.

St. Benedicts Shelter Fri Apr 12 Cross

A new homeless shelter has opened on the west side of Prospect, at the corner of D. Street and Beach. It is a long term care facility, for those down on their luck that need a place to stay to relaunch their lives. Families, single adults, children, everyone is welcomed and will be cared for.
It is communal living, a large free cafeteria made up in the lowest level of the modified apartment complex. Community gardens serve to bring some food and recreation. It is a secure facility, but with no curfew though entry is monitored for the protection of those inside.
Free medical clinics, rehab, assistance with education, and other services are offered for those inquiring.

At 4:20 this morning all the traffic lights in downtown (A specific domain) started to flash green. The streets were closed long before rush hour and no injuries resulted. Police aren't blaming terrorists and instead attribute the stunt to local artist/hackers living in the area.
Those perceptive enough and in the right ways may notice all day the random flashing repeats FINSTER and ENJOY in morse code. A huge street party kicks off at dark. At 4:20 the normal lights snap back on and the party dispersed.

Dinner Shooting! Thu Apr 25 Varges

Small town shocked by shooting at family Diner! The small dinner run by a husband and wife of El Cajon California, a small town a bit East of Prospect, was the sight of what authorities are calling an 'unprovoked act of violence' when a gunman in his late teens walked in and opened fire. A waitress, Mary Jones, was wounded during the shooting before an off duty officer was able to return fire and kill the shooter. Fate was on Mary's side as one of the customers was a medical student from Prospect and was able to keep the waitress alive until EMS arrived. She is currently listed in critical condition in the hospital. Authorities are still investigating the cause of this violence and have yet to release the name of the shooter or anyone else involved.

Not For 99 Opens Thu Apr 25 Xavier

Just east of town, along the highway in the desert, a new roadside bar has opened. Not For 99 is a biker bar, catering to the One Percenter MC's who don't just take their bikes out on the weekend. The place is apparently pretty welcoming to everybody, though, as it's seen as a strong neutral place for the various gangs and clubs to hang out and meet without the threat of violence. They like the place a bit too much to get thrown out, and the owner, Xavier 'Crash' Banders, has a reputation as a solid, stand-up guy.
99 has cold beer, pool tables, and pretty decent pub food, surprisingly. Don't start trouble, and there won't be trouble. Also, the ID checks are pretty lenient, apparently, due to connections with the people who could shut him down for something like that.

Riot at the Mall Tue May 07 News

Ooc This is just a post to show the participants what they achieved. not to be solved, its recognition so they can look back and actually reminisce.
This just in, The Mall was a scene if rioting today as shops was damaged and looted. 5 people were arrested including a 82 year old. Security footage has been misplaced, chief of security stated that there was a technical fault and they will do Islam internal investigation.
Eye Witneeses say that a man was yelling out Riot Riot before he was tackled to the ground and lead away. This man is now no where to be scene.

Fan Commits Suicide On Stage Tue May 07 Steele

Police are investigating the death of a local woman who killed herself on stage at tonights Blood & Roses Concert. The fan is reported to have taken off her top and danced on stage. After this she put a .38 revolver in her mouth and killed herself, ending the concert prematurely. Steele has been publicly criticized for continuing to perform until police dragged him from the stage. Released on his own recognizance, Peter Steele had this to say to News5.
"She killed herself. People want to say it was for me but it was for her. She would have done it anyway eventually. She wanted the world to notice her dying beauty and they did. At least she didnt gun down a school full of kids. That would be sick. Yes I kept singing. What else should I have done to honor her memory then to do it during her last breaths. Now get that fucking camera out of my face!"

LOCAL NEWS: " Residence of North Beach got a pleasant surprise this morning when an unknown artist gave a heart stopping performance of Buno Mars' "Count on me". A video shot from a cellphone shows a clip of Amira's performance. Guitar 7 successes singing 8 successes. She sings to the crowd, all smiles and even kneels down to sing to a toddler. The news switches back to the anchor. "This video along with several others of the performance have popped up onto youtube and other media sights. The artist goes by the name of Amira Rose. This is a name we'll be sure to see in bright lights in the very near future. Bruno, watch out!

Primrose Museum Sold! Sun May 12 Druitt

After decades of construction and legal troubles, a well known Prospect landmark may finally open to the public. The Pandareos Ramses Primrose Museum, which has long housed the extensive private collection of the Primrose family, has been sold by Pandareos' estate to a local charity group. The Nicolette Carnegie Group, founded just this year with donations from throughout the region, has acquired the 100-plus acre property and the Primrose collection for an undisclosed sum. Renovations are scheduled to begin immediately to bring the aged property up to current standards for a public building. No word yet on when the facility will, if ever, finally open to the public.
Jeremy Wilson, owner of Wilson's Pub near the site, isn't holding his breath. "I'm the third Wilson to run this pub, and I grew up hearing my grandfather tell me stories about that place. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing to open it, it's kind of a legend now." Wilson went on to explain that some of his business includes tourists in town exclusively to photograph the property.
The Carnegie Group declined offers for an interview, but released a statement from board member Steve Foreman, a local veterinarian. The group claims that they are interested in "advancing the arts and sciences" but that they "have no interest in publicity." The statement went on to explain that the group is hopeful that the massive facility will be open as soon as possible, and that goals include making the location a hub of community activity.
According to Foreman, the grounds will be re-landscaped to represent California's native wildlife, complete with enclosures for animals recovering from treatment at his clinic prior to reintegration into the wild. Margaret Channing, Prospect resident and mother of three, isn't so sure that's a good idea. "It sounds good for the animals, and I guess kids could learn something, but so close to the Shoals, what if something dangerous got loose? I'd worry about my children."
The long sad history of The Primrose is one of over-promising and under-delivering. With ambitious plans for public transit, a slew of eateries, live performances, and a mix of art, science, and history, residents seem to have a cautious optimism.

A scene with a Sherriff's deputy:
"Well it's baffling, to say the least. Several eyewitnesses place the cow inside the barn before it was locked down for the night. And despite regular patrols, the cow seems to have just disappeared without a trace. I have to say, this is probably one of the best dissappearing acts the university students have ever pulled off. So far, none of the usual suspects over there are fessing up to taking the milk cow, though. She'll probably turn up in some professor's office or bedroom."
Sweep back to the blonde:

Local Detective Latest Gang Victim Wed May 29 Faina

A local Prospect Detective was the victim of gang related violence on the night of May 28th, 2013. The crime was first called in by a gas station attendant who found the woman slumped against the main entrance while he was opening for the day. Reports indicate that the victim, who will remain unnamed for security purposes, was beaten until unconscious, raped, and robbed of all personal affects, before being abandoned in the desert outside of the city. The gang leader was later identified as Ramirez Guiterrez, a known convict within the Prospect area. Guiterrez is suspected to be armed and very dangerous. Should anyone have any information on the where abouts of Guiterrez, or his fellow gang members, please contact the Prospect Police Department immediately.

A world news segment goes into rotation on the local news stations, with similar ones broadcasting on cable news. In it, an anchorwoman looks sternly into the camera and speaks with a low, level tone perfectly calibrated to convey a grave situation:
What started as a peaceful protest in Taksim Square in Istabul, Turkey exploded into violence on Friday after a police crackdown with water cannons and and tear gas ignited the biggest anti-government riots that Turkey has seen in over a decade. The clashes continued through the night, and for twenty-four hours, a cloud of tear gas and pepper gas hung thick in Taksim Square.
** As she speaks, the camera cuts away from her face to shaky and low resolution shots, video probably filmed with someone's cell phone, of people running through streets thick with gas. It's chaos. **

A video from the protests in Istanbul has lit up the blogosphere; it started on Reddit and has exploded from there, showing up on blogs and other aggregator sites with titles such as 'Super Turk Girl', 'Turkish women are badass'. In the video, a woman wearing western looking clothing -- a green long sleeved tee-shirt and jeans -- but also a headscarf that hides her hair is seen striding into a thick cloud of gas, picking a collapsed young man up off the ground (the camera briefly catches the blood pouring down his face from some kind of head injury) and carrying him out. The cameraman speaks in rapid, surprised Turkish when she appears again. And again. And again. With no protection other than a pair of goggles and a scarf loosely covering her nose and mouth, she escorts or outright carries people out of the cloud of gas with seemingly inexhaustable strength and stamina for as long as the cameraman keeps filming.

Massive Fire and Explosion Tue Jun 04 CNN News

The news cameras on nearly every channel including local and national affiliates are covering the story of a building fire in Prospect with atavistic glee. Most of the shots are from aerial cameras mounted on helicopters.
"We bring you now to our top story of the day; a fire at a most unusual establishment in Prospect, California. Anderson Cooper is on the scene with Wolf Blitzer to report on this horrific accident."
The image switches over to the silver-haired Anderson Cooper who explains in detail about a fire which broke out at... "a strip club, bar, and gun shop named Booze, Broads, and Bullets." Anderson then goes into lascivious detail about the sorts of patrons who frequented the place before the establishment's untimely demise.
Wolf Blitzer jumps in with, "Around 4:30am this morning, a fire broke out inside the building. Firefighters said it was so intense they were unable to even approach the structure when they finally arrived on scene. Even now they're keeping us back from what, from here, looks like a large smoking hole in the ground. It's hard to believe a building once stood on the spot at all."
"We're told that all the ammunition and explosives are believed to have added to the force of the explosion, though firefighters are at a loss to explain how none of the surrounding trees took more than a little singe damage. Nothing at all is left of the building or contents, though, and even the FBI and ATF are on scene behind us."
Anderson steals the voice-over back as the shot switches to one of the aerials looking down at the smoking crater left where the Triple B once stood. "It is believed that the owner, an infamous gay porn star by the name of Ravaun Huckleberry, was one of several employees on site at the time of the explosion and is believed to be dead. Most of the staff seems to have gone home before the fire broke out, but several remain unaccounted for as yet. In all, a total of six employees are believed to be dead."
The cameras continue to cover the massive hole in the ground that still smokes as if the very fires of hell burned beneath the soil. Not a wall or even a hint of a building remains. While conspiracy theorists will claim that only aliens could annihilate something so thoroughly, others will claim that this was clear divine retribution for the sorts of sins that the place peddled. Yet others will point to the smoking crater and insist on a meteorite strike. The ATF and FBI claim it was nothing more unusual than a hell of a lot of gunpowder in an enclosed space.

'A Persian Girl' blogging again Thu Jun 06 Headline News

Just days into the protests in Taksim square in Turkey, a new and unexpected voice has surfaced in support of the protesters. After three years of inactivity following the author's death in 2010, someone claiming to be 'A Persian Girl' has begun to post to her blog again. In a post titled 'A celebration of freedom in Taksim square', the author of the post describes in vivid language, with 'A Persian Girl's' trademark mix of hope and anger, the carnival atmosphere in Taksim square during the day, and the brutality of the police crackdown at night.
Leila Rahimi, known at the time only as 'A Persian Girl', was one of the iconic voices of the green revolution in 2009. Her words inspired a generation in the middle east, even after her death at the hands of an Islamist radical in the United States in 2010; she is widely credited as one of the inspirations for the arab spring and the Occupy movement in the west. Since her death, her blog has been kept as a sort of shrine by a small group of devotees, including Brian White, a software developer at Google who was an MIT student when Ms. Rahimi's blog was active. It was Mr. White who the person claiming to be Leila Rahimi contacted on June 2nd. Citing his familiarity with Ms. Rahimi as one of the people who helped to protect her from being caught by the Iranian government and the revolutionary guard, he defended his decision to grant this new person access to 'A Persian Girl's blog. "I knew Leila as well as any of us knew her. And I don't know how it's possible, but it's her. The person who contacted me told me things that only she could have known."
Nasrin Abbasi, the bestselling author of 'Daughter of the Revolution: A Persian Girl's Story' expressed more reservation. "The writing style of these new posts isn't quite the same as Leila's," Ms. Abbasi said in an interview given just after the first of the new posts began to appear. "It's more sophisticated and polished."
Reactions on the streets of Istanbul were more supportive. Just hours after the post went live, women started turning up in Taksim square wearing green tee-shirts emblazoned with the stencil designed for her by the British graffiti artist Banksy and waving signs with her words inscribed with colorful markers: "We want what the wind wants when it caresses the leaves on the trees in Gezi park. We want what the sun wants when it shines on the faces of Sunni and Shia, of the religious and the secular. We want to be free."

'A Persian Girl' in Tehran Thu Jun 13 CNN Headline News

Just days after posting from Taksim square in Istanbul, a blogger claiming to be 'A Persian Girl' has rallied the reformists in Iran, urging them to turn out at the polls and vote in the upcoming presidential election in spite of their disillusionment following the brutal government crackdown on protests in 2009. In a rousing, and sometimes combative post simply titled 'I'm still here', the blogger made an eloquent plea to the youth of the country, urging them not to give up hope of a more liberal, permissive Iran, called for the release of Mir-Hossein Mousavi, the reformist candidate from the previous presidential election who is still being held under house arrest, and, in one particularly defiant passage, openly dared Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to try to find her.
While 'A Persian Girl' hasn't endorsed any candidate, her focus on the economic situation in Iran following the strict sanctions suggests support for former nuclear negotiator Hasan Rowhani. In a post written in English and clearly targeted at the West, she wrote vividly about the way that the Iranian people, especially the youth, are suffering under the sanctions. "We have always loved Americans. We loved you for your culture. We loved you for your freedom. But it's hard to love anyone when you can't get medicine for your ailing mother, or food for your hungry child."
Reactions to the blogger's writings have been mixed. Saeed Jalili, the presumptive frontrunner in the campaign and the candidate considered to have the backing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, lashed out at her, calling her writing 'blasphemous' and suggesting that her re-emergence was a conspiracy of 'certain Western powers' to influence politics in Iran. A representative for Hasan Rowhani was unwilling to comment. On the street, however, there is more enthusiasm. "It's her. I know that it's her," said a twenty-something university student named Mohammed. Mohammed was unwilling to give his last name, citing fear of reprisal from the government. "She's come back when we needed someone to pull us all together."
The original 'A Persian Girl' was believed to be Leila Rahimi, a young Iranian woman who was killed by an Islamic extremist after fleeing to the United States in 2010. The identity of the person posting to the 'A Persian Girl' blog now is unknown.

They both look a little dazed and Gwydion takes a bow and nudges Typhanie, who falls into a faint sketch of a curtsy.>

Angel's Tower opens today after a hard Winter season of delays. Angel Investment, the parent corporation, is proud to finally open to the public. Spokesman, Terrance Welby, tells us, "Even after all the delays, we were still able to finish this project on time. Our contractor, McGroyne Construction, has a long tradition of keeping within their time frames. We couldn't have been more satisfied."

Statue Appears to Move Itself
An ancient Egyptian statue has left staff at Manchester Museum puzzled after it started slowly rotating inside its glass case. The 10 inch tall stone statue of Neb-Sanu, which dates back to 1,800 BC and was donated to the museum by a private collector in 1933, has been caught moving on time lapse video.
The phenomenon was only noted after it was moved to another display area a few months ago. Egyptology curator Annie Garnett said various theories have been advanced ranging from vibration caused by nearby traffic to visitor footfall. "Professor Brian Cox thinks it is due the differential friction between type of stone and the glass shelf it is on," she said.
There are those that deny the possibility of a rational explanation to this phenomenon, despite examples of it being a repeatable event. Ancient Egyptian culture is often associated with curses and magic, likely contributing to the belief in a paranormal explanation for the statue despite scientific evidence to the contrary.

The celebrity gossip columns and local entertainment sections of the paper, as well as several mainstream Music and Television Entertainment internet sites host snapshots and new video of a local who has been making the rounds in the music circuit with a variety of relatively unknown backup singers.
Mr. Gwydion McBryde was captured in another impromptu jam session at a coffee shop in prospect, where he laid down some amazing acoustic chords to reproduce Marilyn Manson's infamous hit, "Beautiful People". While the locals have come to know, and appreciate, Mr. McBryde's incredibly versatile musical talent there were plenty of nationally lensed cameras and recorders on hand to capture the event this morning, while McBryde captured new fans.
Present at the performance - and tweeting their kudos - were the semi-reclusive Kami of illusionary stage show fame (4), and Tina Talarian, with her wild pack of ever present paparazzi (fame 5), who told the performing duo: "If you're not professionals, you should be!"
While McBryde has been the subject of several local articles of note recently, (bb 12/123, 12/133) the endorsement from his new fans certainly won't hurt his career! Who was that violet haired girl singing with him? She didn't leave a name before leaving for work, citing her part-time employment as a waitress at the local Barbque Restaurant Smoke and Barley, where Mr. McBryde has been known to stop in and play.

While it seems that there was a small turnout to Sunday Evening's Grand Opening, the proprietor did not seem dismayed. After cleaning up from what most would call a dismal failure, she went about her business, cleaning up. After a few moments thought, she made a call to a local homeless shelter, asking if there were any one who might need whatever leftovers there were from the evening.

I had this idea the other day, since there are quite a few PC's who use being a veteran in their backgrounds. Being a Veteran IRL (No, did not serve in combat but was serving on ACDU during the barracks bombing in Iran, the first two incidents and was in NG/Reserves on 9/11. As well, I am also a GSM IRL, if you want to know what that means and don't page me). Yes, there's people ya might know from the past (some services are smaller than others which would make that easier, depending on your MOS). My own pc is a veteran which some people ICLY do know.
That having been said, I offer up the following suggestion, rather than paging back and forth trying to create a past background connection. Not adverse to that per se, this might just make it easier w/o anyone having to potentially reveal things in their background they really aren't wanting to....
A Veteran's Support Group to meet once a month (or week, two weeks, this is just an idea). Adriana ICLY would offer up her own home for this, having seen a need for it. Any other mutually agreed upon place is good (trying to be mindful of those things I'm ICLY not gonna know about...or will I???? :))
No, not /totally/ a shameless bid for RP or to get people to my Inn. Being in the military means having been in a family of sorts, no one else but another vet is going to understand, IMHO, so if it's not at her place, as I said, any other suitable place is good. Anyways, just a thought.

OK Man Ropes Burgler, Leaves for Work
An Oklahoma homeowner - fearing his house was about to be broken into - ambushed a burglary suspect and left him hogtied on his front lawn until police arrived.
Denay Houston, the Tulsa homeowner's wife, said the incident began early Wednesday when she woke up to the sound of glass shattering in her daughter's bedroom, News On 6 reports. They found a folding chair inside the room.
The husband - who was not identified in reports but works with horses and reportedly knows his way around a rope - hid behind their front door and sprang out when the suspect, Robert Cole, 31, passed, the report said.
He managed to hogtie Cole and call police before leaving the scene for work, the report said.
"That's just the type of person he is, you know? That's just the type of person he is. Business is business. 'I got to take care of business, he's safe, the police are coming, I got to go,'" Houston told local reporters. "That's my man. I got adrenaline running through me like nobody's business right now, and being nine months pregnant doesn't help any."
Cole faces a burglary charge and is held at the Tulsa County jail on a $32,000 bond. Not surprisingly, Police believe that Cole may have been under the influence of drugs when he was apprehended.

When 11-year old Autistic Terry Dewayne Smith Jr. went missing from his Menifee California home, few would have predicted a Psychic by the name of Pam Ragland would be the one to locate him! Ragland said she began crying and then a haunting vision popped into her head: A young boy lying on his side with his eyes closed. "It was just his recurrent picture that was in my head that never changed," she said. "I was getting a snapshot, but I couldn't understand why he wasn't moving."
Ragland contacted the Riverside County Sheriff's department and used her paranormal abilities to lead them to the very spot where the boy's body had been buried. As a testament to Ragland's powerful mind, trained bloodhounds and other searchers had failed to locate the boy in the days prior to her efforts, even though they had searched the same area!
"She actually went right up the driveway of the house, onto the property, and right up to the body of this boy," Riverside County sheriff's Detective John Powers told KFI-AM radio's John and Ken, which was the first media outlet to get officials to confirm her account. "Not in 23 years have I ever seen anything like this," Powers said.
"I literally physically turned my body all the way around like a compass and I looked at the store ... and I said, `He's back there,'" Ragland recalled.
Ragland says she has tried to help authorities once before, when two teens were missing in an Orange County wilderness area earlier this year. While those teens were ultimately found by rescuers who heard their cries for help, none should doubt Ragland's amazing gifts now, though some critics are sure to do just that. "I've heard all the comments and people will say I'm crazy," she said. "At this point, all I can do is hope that this has brought the family closure and kept people from searching needlessly."
Experts in the Paranormal Arts currently disagree as to whether Ragland picked up on the emotional trauma of the boy's murder, or a deeper group think connection. Professor Gregory Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio, notes that his research indicates that persons with Autism may in fact poses an evolved mental state, complete with powers of their own such as telekinesis and telepathy. According to Wilson, the boy may have used his powers to call Ragland, the closest and most powerful psychic in the area, for help in solving his murder.

SMITH v CARTER
America had mixed reactions over the verdict in Smith v Carter. Carter was walking home from a local 7-11 when he encountered Security Guard James Smith who was not working at the time. Smith called police for Carters alleged suspicious behavior. 911 operator advised Smith that police were on the way and not to follow.
Smith followed Carter he claims to recover an address for police. An altercation ensued. Smith claimed that he was attacked by Carter who slammed his face into a nearby car. Fearing for his life, Smith drew his 9mm and shot Carter three times in the face.
Although Smith was aquitted, the characterization of this as a hate crime has ignited black communities across the nation. Riots have occurred in New York, Chicago, and L.A.

Prospect resident Damien Saunders, 30, won the Grand Prize in the Karaoke Contest held last night at Striker's Lounge located in the the Rolling Thunder Lanes here in Prospect. Saunders' first place prize was two tickets for the next Main Event being held at the Oasis Casino, one night's stay at the hotel with all meals comp'd and $100 in chips. Other prizes included: a weekend for two at the Briar Rose Inn; a designer set of bowling eequipment: Ball, bag, shoes; $250 gift certificate for Rolling Thunder Lanes as well as gift certificates to various businesses.
The event was a wonderful success raising over $550,000 in public and private donations. All monies received will be placed into an account set up for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established for the building (or remodeling of pre-existing structure(s)) and maintenance of a Veteran's Center here in Prospect.

Silvana Vega known girlfriend of Garan Graves has offered a $1 million reward for any information about the missing Via Corp CEO.
Monday's announcement of the reward came as the Prospect County Sheriff's Department stressed that there is no new information in the case.

Willow Sullivan, 24, was found, fatally shot, Prospect Coronor Bill McGhee said this afternoon. The young woman was shot once in the head and she had been assaulted, Mr. McGhee would not give any further details on his findings.
Ms. Sullivan's body was found early Sunday morning in the woods a couple of miles outside of Prospect, twelve hours after having been reported missing by her brother Saturday evening when she did not show up for work.
Ms. Sullivan was found just outside of a secluded hiking path by a local man on his morning jog. "I always use this path." The man said Sunday evening. "I like it because not many people know about it. It's peaceful and quiet. I saw something glittery, kinda bright and I stopped to check it out and there she was."
Prospect Sherriff's Office spokesman George Smith said investigators have developed no suspects in the apparent homicide, but they were still interviewing people and reviewing video footage. "We believe the motive was robbery." Officer Samuel Thomas was quoted as saying. "But that's all we can say at this time."
Coworkers last saw Ms. Sullivan at around 1am Saturday morning in the parking lot of Club 215, a local gentleman's club where Sullivan danced. Coworkers say that Ms. Sullivan would always wait in the parking lot under the light for her brother, who worked as a bouncer at the club, on days when the two didn't work the same shifts.

Shares of ViaCorp Holdings (VCRP) are up almost 5% today after news leaked that billionaire Alan Moon had bought a 30% stake in the corporation. Mr. Moon's stake, which is valued at nearly 3 billion, comes after the price of the stock has taken a nosedive, losing almost half its value, following the disappearance of its CEO, Garan Graves, and the appointment of Marcus Franklin, a gravedigger with no apparent business experience, to the position.
"The fundamentals of this corporation are still solid, even with the recent laughable failures in judgement by management," Mr. Moon was quoted as saying. ViaCorp Holdings has been in trouble ever since the company announced the disappearance of Garan Graves last month. "Bloodshed in Prospect today as man was gunned down in broad daylight. Amateur footage only 5 seconds long shows an elderly black gentleman pulling what appears to be a revolver on a caucasian white man who has yet to be identified. The footage is grisly, and we will not be showing it." There is a single frame of video, shot from across the street showing Kirk leveling an old looking pistol on a bald man in a suit who was walking away. "The perpetrator is believed to be a man who goes by the name Kirk Light, wanted for questioning for the murder of Lynda Chow, a prominent business woman who was killed with the use of a long bladed weapon." A similar shot appears on the screen, this time the image is fuzzy, but it shows the same elderly black man moving down a hallway with what appears to be a very large machete in his hand. "This man is considered to be armed and very, very dangerous and any information should be sent to the Prospect Police Department on either him or the man killed."
However, on the internet on websites that it is not uncommon to see such gory sights (Liveleak, ect) the 5 seconds of footage has emerged. Kirk is shown raising his gun towards the man and shouting for him to put down the choker and that it was his only warning. The caucasian man says something that is not picked up by the microphone and then Kirk fires the weapon. There is what can only be described as a blurred explosion of gore as the camera shakes and the footage ends.

The successful hip-hop artist Tyrone Williamson -- more commonly known as 'Big T' -- will take up residence in Prospect, according to a statement released to reporters today. Big T's latest album, 'Twerk Dat Ass and Blast Your Crew,' slid its way into the Billboard top 100 earlier this month and has garnered mixed reviews from critics.
Big T's press agent, Adam Stankowitz, told the newspaper that Big T is "excited to live in such a vibrant and welcoming community as Prospect." Mr. Stankowitz would not comment on whether Big T plans any public concerts or commercial ventures in Prospect.

Police are in search of two suspects that committed a bold theft last night where two officers and three others were slain. The first suspect is a female, slight frame, long black hair which at the time was tied up into a ponytail. The description of the second suspect is unclear. (Still video images of both are available, though the quality is very poor and dark.) The stolen goods was a shipment of c4 that was intended to be used to bring down an old landmark downtown to make way for the Mayor's Urban Renewal project. Prospect Police, FBI, and Homeland Security are working together to bring these culprits to justice before they can use their ill gotten gains to cause more death and destruction. Anyone with information is asked to contact Law Enforcement, or call the Crime Stoppers hotline. Due to the heinous nature of this crime, America's Most Wanted will be airing a special episode this Sunday.
In other news, the Coast Guard is in search of a family lost this weekend. Friends and family say they went out for a nice weekend on their boat, but never returned. The search is going into day 2, but no signs of the missing boat or survivors have surfaced. It is unknown as to what might have happened.

Explosion, Then Shooting Thu Nov 07 Pogue

Prospect, Ca - An officer involved shooting incident occurred late Tuesday night when Prospect Police Department Officers attempted to detain persons of interest in relation to the explosion at City Hall. While no information about the persons of interest has been released officially, the Union-Tribune has learned that there may have been as many as three suspects and that all died at the scene. Two appear to have fallen victim to debris from a secondary explosion that occurred after first responders arrived on scene. While the investigation is ongoing and no cause has yet been identified for the blast, a common tactic amongst terrorist groups is to have secondary devices in place to target emergency personnel. The other person of interest, an as yet unidentified male, was shot and killed after charging an Officer with an edged weapon, according to police.
While the Officer involved has not yet been officially identified, sources suggest it is none other than recent hire Corporal Omaha Singh Khatter. Readers may recall Khatter, previously a sergeant with the California Highway Patrol, was involved in another shooting incident last year. Khatter, then serving as a member of the Governor's Protection Detail, stopped a robbery in progress at a convenience store near the State Capitol. While Khatter was able to stop the perpetrator, he was also found to have accidently shot and killed Daniel Hueso, adult son of Prospect's own State Senator Ben Hueso. While no charges were filed against Khatter and the Senator, representing the 40th Senate District, admits the incident was just, "a horrible accident" many continue to call for Khatter's resignation.
After transferring to the Yuba division, Khatter eventually resigned from the CHP amid further scandal and a quick but public divorce. While no comment was given as to why Prospect would hire an Officer with such a checkered past rather than promote from within, sources suggest that Khatter, who is an American-born ethnic Sikh, was hired to increase command staff diversity. Khatter, while not officially identified, has been placed on administrative leave, as is standard policy with all Officer involved shootings.

Savage Murder may be Terror Related:
Prospect, CA - Early this morning Prospect Police Officers responded to a fight in progress call at a parking structure near the University of California Prospect. While no official sources would comment on the ongoing investigation, civilian witnesses and anonymous inside sources paint a violent picture of the events. John Ko, a graduate student at the University, reports seeing a blonde being pursued in her vehicle by a man on a motorcycle. Ko stated that the motorcycle rider, described as a man wearing a confederate flag mask, was shouting Islamaphobic and anti-terrorist statements at the woman. "He kept screaming at her that he was going to end her to Allah, so I just hid and called the police."
Officers from both Prospect and the University's Police departments responded within minutes, but there was no sign of the suspect, sources say. While the departments are being tight lipped, it appears that the motorcyclist caught the woman and beheaded her before dumping her body to the street below. Public identification of the body is pending notification of next of kin, but two students who saw the body as well as a coroner's employee speaking on promise of anonymity believed the victim to be Marion Ashley, a Prospect resident recently implicated in a terror-related investigation.
When asked about the recent rise in violent crime in the area, UC Prospect Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla stated that the University Police department would be increasing officer presence at the school, but that the attacks did not appear to have anything to do with the institution. When pressed about a potentially related event earlier in the month featuring a similarly described assailant, Khosla assured the UT that, "There is no indication that an outlaw motorcycle gang is operating in the area."

Early Morning Gun Battle Injures Man
Just after midnight on the morning of the seventh, gunfire erupted at a truck stop on Highway 42. Patrons of Dennis's Truck Stop, a popular stop for cross country freight haulers entering and leaving the Prospect metropolitan area, were panicked when the explosive noise of a shotgun being discharged. While police are refusing to comment on this ongoing investigation, eight year veteran Dennis's employee Doris Carter was willing to offer up some details.
According to Carter, she was speaking with a transient girl when she heard the gunfire. "I looked outside and saw one of the truckers and another girl fighting in the parking lot." Carter claims the transient girl then joined in the fray, the two girls struggled with the trucker before disappearing into the night. Carter believes the trucker may have been trying to take advantage of the girls, but source from the Sheriff's department, speaking under promise of anonymity, claims it is a robbery gone wrong.
According to the source, an investigator who was not directly assigned to this case, the girls stole a thousand dollars worth of electronics equipment from a parked big rig. The shooter, a middle aged man whose identity is being withheld pending possible charges for the discharge, appears to have disturbed the attempt when exiting his own vehicle.
Hospital sources are equally tight-lipped, citing patient privacy laws, though they did state that the trucker was admitted in serious condition, but has since been upgraded to fair condition. A nurse was able to explain, again anonymously, that the man suffered multiple bruises and contusions related to what was described as, "a solid beating." Solid enough, she claims, that he has little memory of the robbery, or its perpetrators. The Sheriff's department is requesting any information the public may have, and Swift Transportation has offered a standard $10,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.

Massive Car Accident Thu Dec 19 Silvana

Breaking News!
Just shortly before midnight, there was a massive car accident on Hwy 42. Witness say that it seems like there was a chase going on before one of the vehicles lost control and caused the accident. Two men were killed instantly in the car that lost control. Several other drivers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
This reporter has found out that one of the injured that was rushed to the hospital is Casino manager Silvana Vega. We don't have the full detail of her injuries but we will be reporting when more information becomes available.

A woman was kidnapped near the Smoke and Barley pub yesterday evening while her young and as of yet unidentified daughter was thrown onto the street when a young woman interrupted the crime. The witness has requested to remain anonymous. The girl survived her injuries but the mother has not been located. Details are slim but if anyone noticed a white utility van leaving the S&B late last night and managed to identify the plates or owner of the van please contact the police. The witness of the crime reported that multiple assailants were involved. If you see a white utility van, do not harass the driver, or occupants. If you are certain that you have located any criminal person or persons contact law enforcement immediately.
