On the front page of one of the local newspapers for Prospect: a gang battle had broken out between two opposing gangs at a club known as the Whiskey Bar. The bar had taken quite a bit of damage and there were several casualties after a drive by shooting. Police investigation is ongoing.

Panic broke out at Rhapsody yesterday when a patron screamed then pulled the club's fire alarm. Authorities arriving on the scene found no evidence of fire but significant property damage caused by the crowds fleeing overturning tables and equipment. Several patrons suffered minor injuries in their attempts to flee but there were no fatalities. Rhapsody owner Handius Wavius estimated property damage to be $15,000-$20,000. The club is closed for the time being and investigation into the culprint is ongoing.

An Amber Alert has been released today, from the city of Prospect California. Eight year old beauty queen, Honeysuckle Rose Sinclair was forcibly abducted from her home. The main suspect is a 28 year old white male, who goes by the name 'Shannon'. There were several injuries at the time of the kidnapping, a catholic priest, Father Clarence Daniels suffered a terrible injury, losing a hand to the assailant. Two police officers, Federo Gonzales and Stephen Hume were both found unconscious outside the home. Both are in intensive care and have yet to regain consciousness. The source of their injuries is unknown. The mother, Tabitha Swinton Sinclair, former Miss California 1993, has reported that there has been no attempt, thus far, to collect a ransom.

Several brawls have broken out with fists, chains, and knives swinging, leaving half a dozen injured at each site, many of whom are not gang members. Thanks Tom. Jennifer Delmontes, more widely known as radio personality DJ Widow has asked the public for help locating the two individuals who shot her, on air, with tazers. Reports indicate that Delmontes invited two individuals off the street into the studio for an interview. When they began quarreling she offered them each a tazer to settle their differences. In an unexpected twist, they turned and used the weapons on her. She was taken to Prospect Memorial and treated for minor injuries. We went to the street to get your opinion. Dave?

In the late evening of Thursday, June 21st, an abandoned warehouse caught fire. The fire was contained after two stations were called to fight the inferno. Investigation is ongoing into the cause of the fire.

An anonymous samaritan has given a new ray of hope to St. Anthony's, a local soup kitchen. When Ryan Flores, the director of St. Anthony's opened early this morning he found a large cache of food outside the shelter's loadinb bay. The estimated value of the food donation is around $2000 and is estimated to cover meal services for several weeks.
Ryan Flores (Director, St. Anthony's) - This just shows you the kindness of the Prospect community. A donation like this is a great way to get your face on TV, but there's no one here to shake my hand. Breaking news!
In a daring car jacking, a police cruiser, stolen mid arrest, was the target of a high speed chase through down town. The driver spent more time on the sidewalk than the street, leaving a trail of carnage behind. Four critically injured, three serious and five light injuries reported. The chase Ended with a collision with the store front of Forever 21, five were injured, with one in critical condition. One of the policemen involved is also in serious, but stable, condition.
The thieves were not apprehended, but one was caught on the recovered camera of the car. Experts are claiming the suspects may have been influenced by videogames like Grand Theft Auto, where similar tactics are used to 'score points'. ...sounds like this particular Underwear Bomber was carrying a dirty bomb.
A local family was saved by an unknown hero this morning who they report as *an angel*. Prospect Fire Department was called by a neighbor this morning at 3:30 this morning to respond to a blaze at the two-story home on the 1100 block of Comet St in the Harbor District. When emergency personnel arrived on the scene they found the single mother and two young children on the front lawn, dazed from smoke inhalation but otherwise in good condition. The house, however, was unrecoverable and the best fire fighters could do was prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent homes.
When asked how they got outside, the mother and children all reported being rescued by an angel:
* Cindy Lawlson (Single Mother, Server) - He was... <dazed look> bright and glowing. Like an angel, but made of yellow lava or somethin'.
* Mark Vasquez (Captain, PFD) - The fire covered the house so quickly I'm at a loss to explain how they were able to get out. I'd have to chalk it up to a mother's instincts to save her children.

Tonight's top story: the labor dispute between Chemical Workers Union 351 and local manufacturer ChemTech Resources has taken an unexpected turn with the leak of a number of confidential internal ChemTech documents showing a campaign to limit worker's wages and benefits virging on conspiracy. Union representative Wade Tuttle received the documents via email last night directly from corpoate email account of ChemTech HR Head, Stacy Waldorff. A review of the emails Tuttle received show that they were sent from a ChemTech internal mail server. The documents are made up of several memos communicating actions taken by ChemTech personnel to inhibit the Chemical Workers Union and discredit their leadership. So far, no one at ChemTech has taken our call for a statement.
While the source of the documents is unknown they did include a photo of a black bird and *a poem*:

In other news, the evening gala at The Dove's Rest started amazingly, but ended chaotically, at least from the outside view. From the information gathered, gunshots were heard being fired, and shortly after the audience fled from the building. Two people were hit, both, luckily, with minor injuries, one to the arm, and the other to the leg. Details are vague at this time, as most of the people seemed to have fuzzy memories in the panic. As for the Proprietor Kizzy Van Nosh, she quickly locked up afterwards. To await the police, claiming worry for 'The priceless works of art'. It is unknown at this time when she will reopen.

Again the signal is on to more news the so-called "journalists" of the big media outlets think is beneath them. Our faithful readers may recall a recent scandal the big papers wallowed in: ChemTech's sabotage of their labor union leadership as exposed in a number of leaked documents. Included in the email was a mysterious poem about blackbirds and therein the big papers seized the sensational and completely missed the real story. Fear not, enlightened reader. One news organization, the Signal, still has the chutzpah to hire real journalists who bring you the truth.
June 22, 2012: A large donation of food and other needed articles is left outside a homeless shelter. There is no note, no (verified) claim of responsibility so clearly it's anonymous, right? I returned to the shelter after the big papers resumed looking for blood in the water. On the exterior wall of the shelter where the food and such was piled I found some rather strange graffiti - a flock of birds, stenciled with black spray paint. It was initially hidden by the donation itself and otherwise overlooked.
Jun 24, 2012: A house burns to the ground and the family inside is saved by what they claimed to be an angel. It was assumed they were delirious from smoke inhalation. I returned to the scene to have another look. The remains of the front door featured a strange illustration; a bird drawn with the charred remains of the house itself roosts on the doorknob. I called PFD and noted the discovery. Their investigators verified that it was done *after* the house had burned. I spoke with Clint Pohlmann, one of the investigators. He claimed that there was no evidence in the house of arson and that if arson had taken place, it was the most subtle act of arson he'd seen in his 23 years as an investigator.
What's going on here? Do we really have a hero, leaving a subtle calling card for only the most astute to find? Or is this some sort of elaborate practical joke? I will continue to unearth the facts and bring them to you unadulterated.

Stage and television magician Chris Angel has been reported missing tonight. Family members described his disappearance as "unexpected" and "shocking".
In local news, an unidentified man attended services Mt. Pasqual Lutheran Church and demonstrated what churchgoers unanimously described as miracles. Three attendees had permanent scars removed instantly. The visitor explained that the healing was fueled by the faith of the congregation. Each would be healed by the strength of their own conviction. Of three who received this miraculous healing, one has seen her burn scars return. The other two have been examined at Prospect Memorial and their documented scars show no traces of resemblence to their previous photos. Doctors are at a loss to explain the transformation. Regular churchgoers have found renewed faith and consider this a visit from Heaven.

And now, a breaking story. A grisly scene has unfolded at G. Street and Ash street! Police have cordoned off one of the abandoned apartment buildings. These eye-sores are a place for the poor of Prospect to find shelter, but today it proved to be disastrous!
Sources have it that there was a massacre inside the building. Police have no leads, but believe a group of homeless took a bad batch of bath salts. One officer who stepped outside was quoted as saying there was 'No way someone in their right mind could have done this'. Another officer was quoted as saying it was the worst thing he has scene in his 55 years of service!

Local hospitals and health officials in Prospect have raised concerns at the increased numbers of OD patients. They are consulting with the Prospect PD as over a dozen patients have been admitted to local emergency rooms in the past months for overdose on illegal street drugs, a sharp uptick from the usual one or two.
Doctors are claiming that there are additional trace elements in this latest batch of street drugs that seem to be boosting the kick and contributing to the ODs. Police and social workers are trying to get the word out on the streets that the new drugs are dangerous.

Two bodies where stolen from a mortuary last night. Evidently the caretaker came in on the robbery and fired his weapon. Police believe some kind of large animal might have been involved as the caretaker was savagely ripped to pieces buy something with six inch claws. Police found the bodies in a nearby local cemetery where there where signs of a struggle. There where three bodies on the scene burned to ash, but oddly enough their clothing and possessions where left un-scorched. Police have no leads, but they have confirmed that this is not the first incident of body snatching to have occurred. In the past three weeks there have been several bodies stolen from mortuaries, morgues, and cemeteries 13 in all. The only common denominator was none of the bodies had been embalmed.

Rumor has it that adjacent lots have been purchased and the area will be transformed to an exclusive, members-only area. ...And now, a breaking story. The community is in shock tonight after a pair of gun men entered Prospect Memorial Hospital's urgent care and opened fire, seemingly indescriminantly. Asian reporter Trisha Takanawa is on the scene. Trisha?
Thank you Claire. I'm outside Prospect Memorial which was turned into a blood bath just two hours ago. We aren't permitted to go into the hospital as doctors and emergency personnel are still tending to the wounded and securing the area. Approximately 9:04, two unmasked assailants entered urgent care and began firing AK-47 assault rifles and semi automatic handguns. They were no apparent targets; patients, doctors, and other staff were all fired upon as the attackers went room to room spraying bullets. The entire event was estimated to have taken only eight minutes yet nearly 1200 rounds are said to have been fired. After the brief yet punctuated reign of terror, the assailants fled through an emergcency exit in the ICU and have yet to be located.
The suspects are described as young caucasian males, both around six feet with dark eyes. One had short black hair and wore a baggy dark sweatshirt with a hood drawn down over his face and loose blue jeans. The other had straight blond in a pony tail, sharp features, and a muscular frame. This second was wearing a black suit with red tie, polished shoes, and a dark trench coat over top. It's worth repeating that neither of these men have been apprehended.

Today is a day of pain and of questions for the family and friends of a local couple who were also working within the foster care system to try and provide a better life for at risk youth. The remains of Emily Sanchez and her husband Robert were found early saturday morning in what police are calling one of the most grissly home invasions they have ever seen.
Long time homicide detective Wayne Gacey is quoted as saying: "Even with the things I saw in the war coupled with my 19 years working homicide didn't prepare me for what I found inside that house."

Local Bus Driver Murdered in His H Fri Sep 14 Sister Magdalena

Local Elementary School Bus driver, Allen Parsons, was brutally murdered in his home near Second Ave last night. There was no sign of forced entry so authorities suspect that the killer, who is still at large, may have been someone Parsons knew. Police say that Parsons was tortured before being murdered but they declined to comment as to what may or may not have taken place. The body of a local man was found brutally murdered inside his station wagon last saturday morning at an overlook near the boardwalk. The man had been lashed to his seat with the seat belts which the killer had cut from the passenger side of the vehicle. All of the vehicles windows were broken and the man's body was found with many pieces of glass inserted into his skin. The murder weapon was a crowbar which was shoved through the man's neck. He had a pencil in his hand at the time of death and a note pad on which he had written "I raped Baby Jesus," several times. On the dashboard of the vehicle, police found a Gideonite Bible, the same kind found in hotels. It lay open with one verse highlighted in red. "Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me." Matthew 25:40. Anyone with any leads on who the killer in this case might have been is urged to contact police. The victim was William Scott, a Kinko's worker. He is survived by his mother in Des Moine, Iowa.

Tragedy struck on one of Prospect's beaches when a publicity stunt for the rock and roll band 'Babycue' went terribly wrong today, resulting in the serious injury of one of the actors.
The dangerous publicity stunt, put on to draw attention to the band's January release of its second album, Mandatory Abortions, centered around an animatronic alligator that malfunctioned while a stuntwoman was wrestling with it. Under the terrified gazes of the onlookers, many of whom were children, shrapnel from within the robot impaled her in several places. She was taken, unconscious, to a private hospital, where her current condition is unknown.
Also present at the accident were Christine 'Chrissy' Bailey, the lead guitarist for Babycue, and local daredevil Zack Kora. Mr. Kora wouldn't comment on whether his involvement with the publicity stunt was planned, or whether he has any relationship with the band Babycue or any of its members.
Witnesses at the scene expressed concern for the injured woman and outrage at the punk rock band's risky attention seeking stretegy. "I don't know what I'm going to tell my son," said local mother Amanda Dunlap. "How do you tell a six year old that people can be so foolish and cruel?" "Someone should be thrown in jail for this," said local businessman Frank Milano. "Nobody has a right to scare people this way."

Located off Lincoln Blvd. and Third Ave., Robyn's started as a very small one-room studio over forty years ago, but has grown to become the premier dance, voice and music school in Prospect. Begun by the husband and wife team of Lucy (dance) and George (voice/music) Robyn with a handful of students each, it has grown now to include many dedicated faculty members, and several hundred students who have won many awards and competitions, and gone on to wonderful careers in music and dance.
Local philanthropists Mr. and Mrs. Dyson Wells have recently donated funding for a scholarship called 'The Wells' Red Dance Shoes' that provides annual tuition to five promising children to attend the school who might not otherwise be able to do so. Natural Gas Leak Gone Wrong Tue Oct 23 Lancelot

The late news comes on and the first story out of the gate is about a natural gas leak at the north end of town earlier in the evening. A reporter on the scene is speaking as the anchor switches over to the onsite reporter, "It's a mess over here Frank. Police didn't know what they were driving up to at first. The meteorologists and earthquake specialists say there was a small localized earthquake that hit the upper north end causing a natural gas pocket to open up and leak all over the place. Its theorized that the gas drove the local animals crazy and they began to attack the staff of this building behind me. The facilities own guard dogs attack and killed several employees many others were reported to have passed out due to oxygen deprivation and even now remain at the hospital under observation. Another two were attacked by a flock of birds and are in critical condition at the hospital. Animals involved in the attack are not to be found and are considered to have run off after the fire first started." The reporter picks up a piece of paper, "Several people are still unaccounted for and it looks like the Police won't get much from the security cameras as either the initial earthquake or the animals are responsible for the systems going out during this tragic accident. Bus Explosion Kills Eleven Fri Oct 26 Tanner

A school bus crashed into a local eatery late last evening causing several deaths and many injuries. The vehicle was seen driving down a busy street when the driver lost control of the bus and swereved off the road, crashing into a of parked cars before rolling into the patio of a busy restaurant and exploding. Dozens of people were rushed to hospital after the incident, and at least evelen guests were deceased before paramedics could assist them.
Witness statments have been taken and state that they are unsure what came of the bus driver, many believing the individual must have lept from the car before it overturned.
Police Captain Nathaniel Graves had this to say about the missing driver, "We are doing everything we can to apprehend the driver of the vehicle. And I assure you that no officer on this case is resting until we catch him."

Several businesses in the downtown area opened today to broken windows and damaged equipment due to an odd form of vandalism.
In what some believe is a protest against the top one percent of the world's wealthy having so much of the world's resources, an unknown vandal broke windows from buildings and cars on the down town streets with golf balls baring the number 99 drawn on them with magic marker.
The police are investigating claims of witnesses reporting a woman screaming for an extended period of time somewhere in the same area around dawn when the vandalism is believed to have taken place. There are no suspects at this time.

Police acknowledge that another brutal family murder has occurred. This horrific tragedy took place around 11:26 PM October 29th, at a home on Belvedere and First Avenue. Police are not releasing many details about the investigation. One of our sources was able to confirm that it was three victims, a mother, father and son, whose names will not be released until police have had time to notify their next of kin. More disturbing is that the bodies of all three were allegedly partially consumed; much like the three victims from the night before. Late Halloween night the orphans of Westhaven Orphanage returned from a field trip to the mall with bags full of candy only to find a large pumpkin themed bag of candy, energy drinks and fireworks, and lighters hidden in each of the boys room. The steward of the boy's orphanage discovered the contraband early this morning when children returned to school wired on caffeine and sugar and began setting off firework in the sandbox and from the playground climbing course. A resulting fire caused the school to be evacuated. Students where questioned as to what happened and the school authorities notified the police and the orphanage of the 'Candy bomb' which have been seized. Cynthia Masterson, wife of City Councilman Craig Masterson was brutally murdered in her home last night. Her six year old daughter Ashley and infant son Craig Jr were also killed. The killer used black ropes too hang the Masterson family members by the neck from out of two adjoining second story wimdows. Police say that the Masterson's were dead already apparently having had their throats cut. Mother and daughter had playing cards sewn into their fingers in such a way that they appeared to be playing cards. Each of them had five cards but there does not appear to be significance of the cards selected at this point. Craig Jr was wearing a visor similar to those commonly used in gambling halls in the 1940s. This visor may provide a link to the killer as it was not owned by the Masterson family. A candlelight vigil is being held at Mount Hope Cemetery in honor of the innocent lives taken by this monstrous killer.

Another gruesome incident hits the city of Prospect. A well known Russian mobster, Sergei Ankundinov who has been linked to crimes in the past ranging from drug trading, money laundering and bringing in illegal families into the country was found covered in blood in his posh apartment.
Sergei was found by cops sitting in a pool of blood caused by the skinning of his beautiful wife (Revekka,42)and two teenage daughters (Iia,16 and Anna,18).
Mike Johnston, was the first on the scene, "It was gruesome, all three individuals were strung up by their ankles and their skin had been sliced away just to show all the gruesome muscles underneath. I've seen alot since my rookie days but even I was sickened by what I saw."
Sergei was taken into custody and will likely be put into a mental health insitution for the rest of his days. A court date is yet to be arranged.

A well known humanitarian, Joseph Martin was found dead in his church on the west side of Prospect at a little after 4:30am this morning. Pastor Martin, as he was known to most, had been the Pastor of his church, St. Benedicts, for almost 25 years. He was the founder, and was instrumental in developing some important social services. He was involved in many food drives, clothing collections, and held a popular wednesday morning soup kitchen at his church, St. Benedicts.
Police believe Pastor Martin was murdered in his church, and they have no suspects or leads, and investigations will be ongoing. The church will be closed to the public until further notice.

One of the picturesque Mansions north of Prospect was surrounded by firetrucks this morning, as emergency services attempted to battle a blaze that threatened to consume the whole structure. Security at the mansion did not permit our reporters access to the grounds, and refused a statement, only saying that no one was hurt and it was an accident.

Suspect in Custody for Murders Sun Nov 11 Drake Marshall

An attempted kidnapping and possible triple murder was stopped by Prospect Police yesterday. One of the Detectives on the scene had this to say, "November 10th, 2012 at 11:15 P.M. police responded to an abduction in progress. Another family; Mother, Father and Son were being carried off by persons we believe to be the suspects in these family murders. Due to an altercation between a cloaked figure and their suspected accomplice, whom police have identified as Vidar Odingrid, the child was dropped. The two engaged in a fight as police attempted to subdue both of them. The event ended with the cloaked figure yelling, "traitor!" and than retreating into the night. Police were unable to pursue the cloaked figure however we believe that they are using the sewer systems to move around. The child is currently in stable condition but investigators are awaiting the child to awaken in order to obtain more information. For the time being, Vidar is being held as a suspect in these brutal murders. If he is cleared as a suspect, he may still remain in custody as a material witness. The suspect that was apprehended last night has been cleared of all charges. After the child awoke today, he identified the man as his savior and not an accomplice to the crime. The search continues for the missing parents and the child will be held in protective custody for the time being. Police have stated that the assault and battery allegations against one of the suspects is a clear cut and dry case of Self-Defense. As self-defense also applies to coming to the aid of another who is unable to defend themselves, police were able to quickly assess and report this after the information from the child was received. According to the child's description, the current suspects are two men and a woman. All are in their twenties to early thirties, and they wear black cloaks. In state wide news the average missing persons reports jumped dramatically over a 48 hour period. At this time over 80 people are missing. The reports are all very similar, the person in question either snuck out or dressed up for a party then drove or caught a ride to some form of rave witnesses reported.
No trace of the 80 young people believed to have been part of some mass event have been found. Police have put out APB on the known vehicles of the missing persons and have began aerial sweeps of suspected rave locations.

The Anti-Trinity strikes again. This time, they abducted the child, once rescued and hospitalized, from the hospital. Detectives are currently investigating how they managed to do this. Detective Drake Marshall led the S.W.A.T. team into the forest, where according to his report released by Homicide's Lieutenant: "I believe, based upon the statement provided by the child victim, that a waterfall location will be their next kill sight. The suspects will need all three victims in order to conduct the ritual."
After the child was abducted from the hospital, Detective Marshall and the SWAT located the suspected kill site deep within the forest. Gunfire was exchanged and reports from surviving members of SWAT are hazy. The Lieutenant of Homicide has stated that: "Some form of hallucinogenic toxin is suspected to have affected the members of this mission. Their accounts of the incident simply defy rational explanation."
Not much else has been divulged as public knowledge, however, we do know that the child's remains were found at the kill site. The mother and father have been rescued, though by a separate extraction team. Detective Marshall and the other SWAT were found deep in the forest, some members were killed in action. Drake Marshall has been placed on suspension with pay, while an investigation is conducted.
"His lack of proper planning has cost the department the lives of good men. As their stories are also irrational, they have been submitted for drug testing. As the results of those tests have come back negative; Detective Marshall will require psychiatric help before being cleared to return to work. These Anti-Trinity killers are dead. I've received reports of ashes near the kill site." The Homicide's Lieutenant stated in an interview earlier today.
The Mother and Father are in recovery at the local hospital and we mourn the loss of their beloved child. A memorial service will be held a week from today.

Two juveniles were in custody Monday in connection with an apparent gang-related shooting that occurred at a bar on Prospect's historic west side, police said.
Officers received a report of a violent disturbance in the 1400 block of Olive Street at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, according to Prospect police Sgt. Mike Travis.
Once there, officers found a number of patrons who had suffered gunshot wounds, the sergeant said in a statement.
Medics took the victims to Prospect Memorial Hospital. All were expected to survive, Travis said.
Two other juveniles were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, he said. Their names were withheld because of their ages.
"At this time, the crime may be gang-related and gang detectives are investigating," Travis said.

PROSPECT -- Police are seeking witnesses to a devastating house fire that left three people dead in an affluent area of the city.
Residents phoned emergency services after hearing screams and sounds of a dispute from a home on the 1000 block of Belvedere Avenue. Police dispatched to the scene waited for over two hours as Prospect Fire Department crews battled to spare surrounding homes. Property damage at the adjacent manor and grounds was extensive. Pictures of the blaze hit social media channels within minutes of police and fire crews arriving on scene.
Neighbours expressed their shock at the evening's turn of events. "Mrs. Law was such a nice person. The sort of neighbour you always hope to get, very private but she never gave any trouble," said Ron Spencer. "We never expect this sort of thing to happen here."
