Right, so, now that we've hopefully weeded out anyone who might be made uncomfortable:
I made Diane to be victimized, taken advantage of. The sort of relationship where once it's over (however it ends) people will look back on it and comment with 20/20 hindsight "She's a smart woman, why didn't she just leave?" And it's sounds like a valid question, even though it's really just so much victim-blaming, so let's answer it before we go on:
- Nature: Praise-Seeker / Demeanor: Loner
- Diane's outward persona of someone who doesn't need other people is a facade, a thin veneer covering a core psyche that desperately craves affection and attention. If some (or even most) of that attention is actually negative, well, that's just the way the sausage is made, right? As long as there's enough affection and praise scattered in there, she'll lap it up and come back for more. After all, she just needs to earn that affection and praise, right?
- Low Self-Esteem -- Low Self-Image -- Shy -- Weak-Willed
- These flaws all go together and form a pattern where Diane pretty much hates herself and is easily manipulated by those who show her even a scrap of kindness.
There are other factors involved as well: Her parents died when she was almost an adult, so she's been on her own her entire adult life. And even when they were alive they weren't especially affectionate, especially after she got older and more independent. She's a terrible conversationalist and has never bothered to learn how to get better at it. She's a lesbian who spent her formative years in the closet and even now still thinks there's something vaguely shameful about how high her Kinsey score is. The list goes on, but the tune is iconic: She's easy prey for a woman who knows how to push her buttons. This is where you come in.
Basically I'm hoping for an intelligent, manipulative sort of woman to twist poor Diane's emotions all around. Sexual and even physical abuse can be part of it, sure, but I'm more interested in the psychological and emotional abuses. An understanding of the cycle of abuse (and how it differs from a healthy BDSM relationship) is a plus. Supernatural stuff may or may not be able to be factored in, depending on the type of monster you are, but Diane is a vanilla human and will never be Kinain or Kinfolk, so bear that in mind. So yeah, if you're at all interested in this sort of play give me a shout in game if you see me around.
