Warm Days
Dana grew up in Palmer Woods, one of the numerous ghettos of Detroit. She was born in 1990 to an alcoholic punching bag of a mother, and a brutal father who also enjoyed the drink. They lives in a rundown little house that they could only afford because her grandfather paid it off before being shot during a mugging gone wrong. She was smacked around quite a bit growing up, and while she had to learn to defend herself, she often found herself escaping with books.
She spent a lot of time reading anything she could get her hands on at the small, woefully funded public library. Her school was terrible, and she spent her hours there getting pushed around just as much as she did at home. They didn't like the fact that she was fairly intelligent. Things got a bit better for her when she tried out for the gymnastics team in Middle School. It turned out she excelled at the sport, and with her on the team the school began to get actual funding, as they won meet after meet.
She graduated High School with excellent grades, and earned a gymnastics scholarship to UCLA. She bolted from the shithole of a community, and was just getting used to things in Los Angeles when everything changed.
The Warm Days Are Over
Just as Dana was getting her life properly on track, everything was torn down around her. Both her athletic skill, and her interest in education had drawn the attention of Kenny Mayer, also known as 'Trip-9' among the Sabbat. He was an Assamite Sorcerer who had turned his back on the Clan and Haqim decades earlier, pledging his skills to the righteous war. Dana was given no choice in the matter, and she was kidnapped from her dorm just before she finished her Freshman year.
She was Embraced into the <PACK NAME TO COME>, a vicious pack of Unifier Loyalists. Her Sire was Ductus by right of his guile and skill with Thaumaturgy, and he worked to constantly keep his Packmates from taking his position. Dana found that being a Cainite meant that she didn't have to be a victim anymore, and more then a few 'Kindred' fell beneath her fangs. After several years into her Unlife, her Sire converted her to the Path of Power and Inner Voice, and it was as if she'd found her true calling.
Her pack roved the southwest United States, aiding in sieges and occult investigations. Six months ago, however, her pack was caught by an Archon of Clan Brujah and his lackies, and they were decimated. Darling, as she'd come to be called, survived by pure chance, and she spent months recuperating in a small town in New Mexico.
Now she has come to Prospect.
