Corgan/Introduction

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Corgan is from a working class family. His father worked in city waste and refuse, his mother was a homemaker. They had three children, Corgan being the middle child. His mother and father were both born from Irish stock, his father originally from Boston and his mother from Halifax. His early childhood was not substantially bad or incredibly amazing. He was, as many children are, fairly normal.
He hit his Chrysalis when he was around ten and his world changed, literally and figuratively. His uncle on his mother's side, James, was a nocker, which explained his generally foul disposition. He worked for the Baron of the Freehold of Omaha, Nebraska - which was called the Freehold of the Golden Path. This was obviously an allusion to corn. In any case, while he was a childling, his uncle took him under his tutelage and helped his development into the world of the Fae. While Corgan was still young, his uncle received a commission from Baron Aeron Terfel ap Eiluned as the Baron's personal seer. This was Corgan's first introduction to Fae politics, which he didn't initially take to.
Generally a loner, he did end up getting along with an incredibly stupid (words can't even begin to explain the lack of intelligence) troll by the name of Uhg. He spoke in the third person and was particularly fond of Corgan despite their vastly different personalities. The two remained friends throughout their childling phase up until they became Wilders at sixteen. Corgan's first Motley was made up of Uhg, an Eshu girl named Sam, a Redcap named Maria and a Pooka who called himself Shadow. The five of them remained a Motley, called the Forbidden Heights Motley - which was mostly just an attempt at irony, since the majority of Nebraska is flat - and did work for the Baron Terfel.
Meanwhile, Corgan continued to learn from his uncle, who had advanced in years and well into his grumphood. James began to ramp up Corgan's learning, focusing almost entirely on the Arts of Soothsay and how to affect the fae and humans alike. By the time Winter came for James Connelly and he succumbed to Banality, Corgan was already well on his way towards being a natural talent with his chosen Art. Unfortunately, this left Corgan rather ill-prepared for almost everything else. He had studied the enigmatic twists of fate and the Dan almost exclusively, while the rest of his Motley was more rounded. His uncle's chimerical death and the Mists' wiping of James' memory left Corgan with a very depressing view of reality. As a sluagh, he was generally stereotyped in as a depressed recluse. He fit the bill after he realized first-hand that Winter was no joke. He fell to his Unseelie side and began to distance himself from his Motley, getting involved with various substances and falling prey to addiction. Uhg attempted to pull him out of his state, first by using care and then through tough love. Neither worked. Corgan even broke off his relationship with Sam, which (along with several other reasons) gave her cause to leave the city.
Finally, Corgan followed suit. The Baron Terfel had used Corgan's abilities in the absence of his uncle, but Corgan's heart was never quite in it. He believed in House Eiluned and respected the goals of the House and was even offered a commission and title as Squire if he stuck around Omaha. Instead, he drifted west and south. First to Oklahoma, then Texas. West to Albuquerque, then over to Phoenix, Arizona. All along the way, he managed to find ways to feed his growing pain medication and opiate habit. He didn't realize when he finally stumbled into California. He made an attempt at integrating himself into Changeling society in Los Angeles, but grew tired of the squabbling Houses that dominated the political scene there, so he headed north, towards a town called Prospect.
