“Honor, eh? What the hell is that anyway?
Every man thinks it’s something different. You can’t drink it. You can’t fuck it.
The more of it you have the less good it does you, and if you’ve got none at all you don’t miss it.
But some men think it’s the best thing in the world.” -Joe Abercrombie

xxxxxA son of Irish immigrants, a man who the world forgot. Ciaran is an odd fellow, somewhere in his mid-forties with an attitude that keeps all but the most forbearing at bay. Who isn't changed after being locked up in a cage and tortured for years? The now lame college professor is a former member of the military and 'other' groups who often operate overseas. His current passion is only to teach and to research ancient languages and mythologies.

RP Hooks

  • Lack of Empathy: “Have you no pity?' He could only shrug. 'I did have. As a boy I was soft-hearted beyond the point of foolishness. I swear, I would cry at a fly caught in a spider's web.' He grimaced at a brutal spasm through his leg as he turned for the door. 'Constant pain has cured me of that.” -Joe Abercrombie
  • Betrayed by his past: “Things aren't what they used to be' is the rallying cry of small minds. When men say things used to be better, they invariably mean they were better for them, because they were young, and had all their hopes intact. The world is bound to look a darker place as you slide into the grave.” -Joe Abercrombie
  • Cynical: “What a place. He stifled a smile. It reminds me of myself, in a way. We both were magnificent once, and we both have our best days far behind us.” -Joe Abercrombie

  • Eily: - "A man can forgive all manner of faults in beautiful women that in ugly men he find entirely beyond sufferance”
