Alexandra Juno
"“Be grateful that you only see the outward man. Be grateful that you never see the passions, the hatreds, the jealousies, the malice, the sicknesses... Be grateful you rarely see the frightening truth in people.”
xxxxxShe looks just like any other college freshman you might find on the streets. Pretty, but not too pretty. Smart, but not too obvious about it. She has a birth certificate, a Social Security Number, a California driver's license. She likes pop punk, caramel macchiatos, and video games. She practices parkour and acrobatics while studying to be a psychologist. But she's not like other girls her age. She couldn't possibly be.
xxxxxShe began life as Subject Delta-49. Born from the Genius of Dr. Quentin Juno, a Progenitor of the FACADE Engineers. Given life and breath in a biotech matrix, her genetic profile carefully and lovingly sculpted over long months of painstaking work. All to produce the perfect human specimen--Homo superior, the next step of human evolution. She awakened from her matrix with all the knowledge and intelligence of a mature young woman, as well as a suite of psychic gifts.
xxxxxOver the course of the next year, she was aged to maturity while taught to hone her powerful psychic gifts. Her purpose--to be subtle eyes and ears for the Technocratic Union. To look, see, and know in ways that would cause no disruption in the Consensus. On the surface, she was just another ordinary college student. But within, there is so much more.
xxxxxNow, in the city of Prospect, she has come to execute her mission. The Technocracy works to save humanity and guide it towards Ascension. To protect it from the terrifying things that infest our world. To guard it against subversion from those who would fracture the very fabric of our reality. She knows she is young. She knows she still has so much to learn. But she is proud to be an Extraordinary Citizen of the Union, and is eager to prove her worth to her comrades. And she will let nothing stand in the way of her mission.

Threat Level: Minimal. "They police themselves and do minimal damage to the Consensus. As long as they stay in the shadows where they belong, then I don't have a problem with them."
Threat Level: Minimal. "Do these even exist?"
Threat Level: Minimal. "I think it's high time we outgrew the need for patriarchal gods and their rebellious messengers."
Threat Level: Moderate. "How can we best turn their unusual gifts to the service of Consensus?"
Threat Level: None. "I don't believe in fairies."
Threat Level: None. "Who will save them, if not us?"
Threat Level: Extreme. "These things are the reason we keep HIT Marks in reserve."
"We are everywhere for your convenience. And your safety. And to save your ungrateful asses when the things out there come for you. You're welcome."
"They make incredible things. True geniuses, in every sense of the word, even if they are a bit on the weird and creepy side."
"They keep us healthy, whole, and sane. And that's on top of bringing us into a new age of genetic superiority. My father does incredible work. Really, just look at me."
"They provide us with everything we need. With their help, nobody will ever want for anything. How is that a bad thing?"
"Brave pioneers and guardians of our world's borders. They help us keep the Massess safe from things I can't begin to imagine--and really wouldn't even want to try. I could never do the things they do."
"Their martial skills are dangerous enough. But their understanding of the Mind makes them downright unacceptable. We cannot allow them to subvert the Masses."
"Show me your God, and I'll show you a deluded mind. Fortunately, we have treatment for such things."
"Hippies, day-dreamers, and drug addicts. They're no threat to us. But please, feel free to do our work for us. Keep the Masses comfortable and happy. We'll take care of the rest."
"Believe what you want. It makes no difference to me. But would you please stop calling those aliens into our world? You're making a mess."
"These psychotic murderers terrify me."
"They'd almost be amusing, if they didn't have such a penchant for blowing things up. Things would go so much easier for them if they would just realize that they're beaten, and have been for centuries."
"Explain to me how steampunk and Fortian phenomenon can be classified as anything remotely scientific. No really, I'm genuinely curious."
"Chivalry is dead, and feminism killed it. Thanks a lot for that."
"These traitors just make me mad. But hopefully they'll see their new friends for what they are, and come back to us where they belong."
"Oh please. Get over yourself, edgelord. Nobody cares."
"Kill it. Kill it with fire. And guns. And maybe a well-placed subtactical nuke."
"Another textbook example as to why the Union fields HIT Marks."

A fellow gamer, and a real computer wizard. A former Virtual Adept, but I won't hold that against him. At least he came to his senses! I think we'll have a lot of fun together, and I might even learn some things!
