Aisling Foster/Introduction
Aisling 'Ash' Foster Ash was not the easiest child in the world. Oh, she wasn't a troublemaker, per se, and she listened to her parents for the most part. But there wasn't a thing in the house that she didn't take apart and put back together again at least once and preferably twice or more as with repeated taking aparts came a chance of the item ever working again or even working better. Other little girls liked to play princess and dreamed about having a pony. Aisling liked to play outer space engineer and dreamed of having a hoverboard. Or a pony. She would have taken a pony too. Grade school was not an easy time for Ash, but starting in middle school she was transferred to a special experimental maths and sciences charter school. She loved it there, and excelled for the first several years. Unfortunately, by the time Sophomore year was halfway through, it was clear that she was not having the same progress as many of the other students, several of whom seemed to have made great intellectual leaps and were then moved to a more advanced program. She changed, becoming solitary, awkward, and some would even say sullen and foul-mouthed. She didn't graduate at the top of her class, but she did graduate (most people either dropped out of the program or moved up to the more advanced program). Her advisor suggested that she not go to a large state school, and so she chose Prospect, majoring in Engineering with a minor in Computer Science.
