Aika grew up in poverty in "Japan Town" in San Francisco. Her grandparents had moved to America long before she was born, and they worked as street vendors, selling souvenirs to tourists. They barely made enough money to make rent, and they were often left wanting. Her uncle was one of the American Kithain, as was Aika. She could see the Fae from an early age, and she was fascinated by them.
She turned out to have a love of stage magic, and she turned out to have a real gift for both the skill and showmanship. She began performing on the streets, and made okay money. Eventually she drew enough attention to be offered an actual stage gig, and she filled her show with 'asian mysticism' to draw in the outsiders. She began to skyrocket!
