Styx and Stones - Pool Hall
Early evening at the Styx and the crowd is pretty light. The regulars are scattered around the room either having somewhat secret meetings, playing some pool or both. A few random bikers have claimed one or both of the back tables - a space generally reserved for them so that they're out of the way but still close to the drinks and to the food.
The hall's crew stay busy by hauling buckets of ice and boxes of beer up from the back getting the bar stocked for the night's business. Sitting behind the bar, down towards the corner opposite to where the bartender is working, a white-haired man sits absently watching the floor to make sure the bikers in the back (tm) don't get too rowdy. The white-haired owner, seated behind the bar, is enjoying a plastic food basket of loaded french fries and sipping on a bottle of soda as he watches the whole of the floor. His eyes dart from the bikers in the back (tm) to the small, dark-haired woman at the pool tables and then occasionally anywhere else that draws his attention. Leaning the cue stick up against the edge of the pool table, the dark haired young woman starts making an attempt to rack. Thing is, anyone who knows anything about pool can easily tell she's doesn't have any idea what she's doing. Brenn walks in likely tempting fate by coming back but he was in the area while he was out on a ride and figured it'd be early enough to stop in for a quick drink and maybe a game of pool. He heads over to the bar unzipping his jacket as he moves until he's near enough to catch the attention of the bartender (or owner) although his gaze does wander over towards the poor woman who's got no clue what she's doing on a pool table.
Danny, a well-muscled Latino guy behind the bar, gets Brenn's attention as he approaches the bar and asks the newest arrival what he'll be drinking. Dawson, seated a few paces down from him, glances up to the sound of the door opening and then looks back over to the pool table and the woman who doesn't seem to know what she's doing. Before the white-aired man can say anything, one of the larger and furrier of the bikers gets up from his table and walks over to offer his 'professional' services as pool instructor to the little lady.
Eyeing the balls, at least the dark haired woman knows enough to use the plain white ball to try and break the triangle formation. She takes up the cue stick and lines up the shot. Drawing the stick back, she drives it forward... *smack* ... and just a few of the balls move. She lets out a curse under her breath.
Brenn glances over at Danny and offers a grin, "I'll just have a Bud. Kitchen running?" He glances over as somebody who's a likely a lot larger than he is goes to offer help to the young woman, "I wonder if she really doesn't know what she's doing or just tryin to hustle the table."
"Prolly a hustle," Dawson mutters as he stabs another fork-full of fires. "Yeah, Tommy's back there. Burger and fries are the best - but he's also been working on burritos and tacos too. I...uh...I wouldn't get the firehouse tacos unless you like living in the bathroom though."
The dark haired woman straightens as she's approached. Her cool gaze takes in the full measure of her 'helper', tilting her head to the side and arching a brow. She takes a moment to decide and soon shakes her head, waving the helper off and tries again with not much better results.
Brenn nods, "Burger and fries then." He pulls out his wallet and sets the money down for the food and beer, "I dunno if it were a hustle I'd figure she'd want folks to stick around and help her." Another one of the bikers decides to wander up and watch the woman play pool. Since she's waved off the first - the second holds back and with beer in hand he just pauses to enjoy the view with the occasional whispered comment to his buddy beside him. After another fork-full, Dawson just shakes his head and mutters something about hoping not to have to replace the pool cue by the end of the night. Danny takes the man's money and sends the order to the back with a quick word that it'll be out in a minute.
While they wait, the white-haired guy behind the bar turns his attention from the dumpster-fire that's going to happen to the guy waiting, "New to the area...or just to the Styx?"
If the dark haired woman notices her audience, she doesn't show any signs of it as she continues to try and get the balls in the pockets. There is no rhyme or reason - no trying to sink solids or stripes specifically - and even tries to sink the 8-ball long before the others are off the table. In fact, she's only managed to get one or two in. If she keeps up at this rate, she won't clear the table until morning.
Brenn glances over as she keeps trying to play and smiles some, "New to Styx. I grew up here just spent most of my time near the beach. Was just cruising and saw the bikes parked out front and figured why not." He looks back towards the white haired man and away from the dark haired woman who's struggling with the pool table.
Dawson hrms, "Ahh. You ride?" The most logical follow-up question on why someone would ever -think- of coming to the biker bar; they must have a bike. "And if you say you got a Yamahaw...just...go outside now and hide it behind the bar or you'll never see anything but parts by the time you leave." The next attempted shot has the cue ball jumping from the table and rolling across the floor. "Watch your step." The dark haired woman raises her voice, watching where the ball rolls to and starts after it. Catching up to it, she snatches it up and head sback to the table.
Brenn chuckles and nods to the riding but he shakes his head at the question on the type of bike, "I ride although it's not a Yamaha. Although I doubt it's much better. I ride an Indian FTR 1200. Not quite like most of the cruisers out front but hey at least it's an American made bike right?" As the cue ball ends up on the floor he follows it with his eyes ...And the room full of bikers, patiently watching the woman attempt to play pool erupt into a chaotic fit of laughter and cheer. Silent bets were made if she would scratch or sink another ball - it's as good of a reason to bet one assumes but when the ball left the table - all bets were off. One of the bigger guys, a big barell of a guy, tries to take a step towards her as she fetches the ball to help out. "Darlin...darlin...here...lemee show ya," he offers.
Dawson just hangs in head. Someone's getting stabbed with a pool cue tonight.
The dreadlocked figure enters the bar, and raises their left hand in greeting, revaling a palm sigil tattoo. Oh, hey! It's Bobbi. Today she's wearing a zipped-up leather bikers jacket with a black hoodie underneath it, indigo skinny jeans, black fingerless gloves, and a pair of chuck taylor converse all-stars. Of her tattoos, only the alchemical symbols by her temples, the blacked-out swath of her neck, and a few of the marking on her fingers are visible. She walks over to the bar and takes a seat. "Chilly out," Bobbi says. Then she gives a slight nod to Danny, indicating 'the usual.'
A soft snort can be heard as the dark haired girl straightens, her brow furrowing up at the guy. "Honey, I ain't your darlin." Her hand grips the cue ball tightly and steps around the would be 'knight'. "I got this." There's a faint growl to her words as she sets the cue ball back on the table, eyeing up her options.
At the bar, Dawson says "Is it bad that I'm not really wanting him to get stabbed because I like him - though Bear ain't half a bad guy once you get some whiskey and tacos in him...I just don't want to see -another- guy staked like it's Castlevania around here."
At the bar, Bobbi eyes Dawson, "I thought we were done with the pony talk."
Brenn just watches the interaction between Kaiya and the biker before he looks back over towards the owner, "Think I need to hide my bike before it's scrapped for parts? Figured it was early enough might be able to get away with it." Then Bobbi heads in and he glances her way offering a nod before he looks back at Dawson.
At the bar, Brenn says "Folks get staked that often around here?"
At the bar, Bobbi says dryly, "It's a regular steak house."
"Nah...you're fine," Dawson tells Brenn as he was concerned over his bike. A minion of the bar, wearing a t-shirt that reads "Fresh Meat", walks out from the back and places the plastic food basket and sets it down in front of the new face and slaps him on the shoulder a little, "Enjoy!"
Bobbi's drinks arrive, and she downs the shot of well whiskey like it was water, before chasing it with some Coors Light. She thankfully reaches into an actual pocket to pull out some cash, which she slides across the bar. Bobbi looks to Dawson, "So is the Russian girl really hooking? I feel kinda bad about that. I just wanted to crush her dreams and turn her into a stripper. Not pimp her out."
"The two professions are somehow -separate- in your head?" Dawson asks the tattooed woman with the locks. "I mean...half of the guys in here run on Miller Lite and Stripper Glitter...like it was rocket fuel. So...uh...yeah. She might do one...but word has it that she -definitely- doin the other."
The dark haired woman returns to her attempts to figure out this game of pool... well, at least trying to get better at getting the balls in the pockets.
"Well, no ..." Bobbi starts, "I guess they are pretty linked together. I just assumed it would take her spirit getting a bit more crushed before she became an actual whore. Are you sure she's a whore? I was pretty sure she did /not/ take the stripper job, so it surprised me that she went all in ... or let others go all in. Churchy seemed pretty shookup about this, texted her to get her ass over here. She seemed to convince her otherwise. Speaking of surprising ... I'm surprised you didn't kick her right out."
Brenn nods as he takes a look at the burger and then glancing back at 'Fresh Meat' "Oh interesting." Then he grabs his burger to take a bite, "Mmm this is a pretty good burger. And glad the bike's fine only means of transportation in the city." Chuckles at the thought of folks running on Stripper Glitter, "Never understood the need for glitter on strippers. Unless I'm going to the wrong strip clubs it's usually too dark to see the glitter."
Decked in a bomber jacket with a few old and torn military patches, Eden opened the side door to the Styx and began lighting up a cigarette with a gold zippo from her pocket. Heavy thick jeans on her legs as the woman strode up to the bar, blowing smoke out the side of her mouth - already to order. Money folded in half as she prepared it for Danny or Dawson or D-Fresh Meat; USDA approved.
Bobbi looks over to Brenn. "What's up with your bike?" she asks. "I work over at Angel Restorations if you need any work done on it. We offer a free tune-up with any real work. Do a bunch of welding too, so any customization you can think of." Bobbi looks around the bar, "I service more than half the bikes in here, just ask anyone about my work." After a beat she adds, "I'd say that glitter was the herpes of the strip club circuit, but well, already plenty of regular ol' herpes on the circuit." Bobbi takes a pull on her Coors Light. "A whore, really?" she says shaking her head in disbelief. "I wonder what she thinks of the American dream now?"
"Kick who? The good reverend or the Russian chick?" Dawson asks, finishing off his fries and then chasing it down with a long pull from his bottle of soda. "Miss Eva can set you up with a private show if that's yo thing bro." He smiles a bit and explains that the Russian chick was just in here for a bit and sometimes it's good to throw a sacrifice to the wolves to keep them happy. His eyes drift over towards the woman at the pool table and then back to the folks at the bar. "The holy woman...however, is another matter. She's getting some pull out there. People are liking what she's doing - helping people and families - all that. So...so long as she don't bring her god and things into -mah- bar. It's cool."
The dark haired woman finally decides to give up on pool, at least for now, and starts to put things away before heading back to the bar. It's become a bit more populated since she ordered her first drink. Finding an empty stool she tries to catch Danny's attention for another bourbon, sliding the cash across the bar.
Brenn shakes his head, "I'm good. Never was much of a fan of strip clubs. All teasing no real enjoyment." He looks over at Bobbi and shakes his head, "Nothing's wrong with it yet. She's just a little FTR 1200. The naked street bike look helps me weave through the downtown traffic so I never bothered with a real car."
Bobbi shakes her head at Dawson. "It's an act," she says. "I got the real scoop on churchy. Not sure why she does what she does, but don't believe a word she says. She's a snake." Bobbi then nods to Brenn, "Cars are the devil."
The dark haired woman arches her brows at the mention of the FTR, then glances over at Bobbi, arching her brows. "Cars aren't bad, but bikes are the way to go. Like my baby right outside." Her attention is drawn back to Brenn as she takes the bourbon glass in hand. "1200 huh?"
Dawson stands from his seat behind the bar and excuses himself from the conversations to run the food basket to the back and answer a text.
Eden pays for two beers and some nachos, "Double the toppings. Just layer it please.", she asks while paying for her small meal and liquid lunch. Slipping off her aviators and still sucking down cancer, looking around at the other patrons and just - breathing through the moment. Apparently Eden was also chewing gum while smoking, classy.
Bobbi looks to the dark haired woman. "Let me know if you feel the same way after one of them slams into your bike," Bobbi says. "Recovery almost took me seven years. Sometimes I wonder if I broke a mirror, or something." The dark haired woman smirks. "That's why I make it a point not to get hit." She takes a sip of her bourbon, nursing this one along.
Brenn shakes his head a bit, "I haven't gotten hit yet but I did end up eating pavement when I firs started riding. Some jackasses blew their grass clippings into the street right at a turn. Didn't know any better so I throttled up and went into it and kept going straight." Looking at Kaiya he nods, "Yeah a 1200. She's quick and agile just the way I like 'em."
Receiving her beers, Eden pulls the pink gum from her mouth and sticks it on the side of a bottle. Pulling the ashtray up close she flicks some ash into the bowl and leaves the cigarette to slow cook while switching to the beers. She got a few modelo's and began to drain one. Not purposely eavesdropping, but over hearing some of the conversation. Mainly waiting on nachos and passing the time.
"You don't really get a choice if they're aiming for you," Bobbi says. She takes a pull off her Coors Light and shakes her head lightly. Bobbi doesn't look upset, but it's probably clear that someone intentionally ran her motorcycle down with a car, at some point in her past.
The dark haired woman wrinkles her nose, shaking her head. "Sometimes ya gotta learn the hard way." She takes another sip of the bourbon and looks past Brenn toward Bobbi. "Sounds like you pissed someone off." Brenn shakes his head, "Yeah not easy to dodge a car aimin for ya. I hope I won't end up getting somebody that angry at me but I figure it'll happen eventually."
Eden's nachos finally arrive and the woman digs in, even using a fork at times due to how messy they were. She glances at Kaiya once and gives a nod, like she might of
Bobbi glares at the dark haired woman, but turns back to stare across the bar. "Yeah," she says, sounding slightly pissed off, "Always the woman's fault, right?" She shakes her head and goes to check her cellphone. Seeming to have no text messages, she puts it away, and then takes a pull off her Coors Light. Bobbi scowls. "Just because you're a victim, does not mean it was your fault," she says through gritted teeth.
Eden's nachos finally arrive and the woman digs in, even using a fork at times due to how messy they were. She glances at Kaiya once and gives a nod, like she might of had something smart to say - but the conversation really doesn't go further than that. Instead she goes to a juggling act of nachos, beer and smoking.
Mo makes his way in. Yes, he's Chinese. Yes, he dresses archaically. But also? The guy has his own biker gang, that rides herd between Laughlin, Nevada and Idyllwyld, California. Thus? People here can fuck with him at their own peril.
The dark haired woman snorts. "Didn't say it was the woman's fault.. just said it sounded like you pissed someone off." She rolls her eyes, tossing back the rest of her bourbon before flagging down Danny for another. Her expression darkens slightly when the other woman mentions victim.
Brenn continues working on his burger and fries between sips of his beer, "Turned down a Chad then I assume? They tend to get pissed off thinking that they're God's gift to the world."
"Something like that," Bobbi says to Brenn. She takes another sip of her beer.
A faint chuckle as Eden listened to Bobbi and Brenn, but the moment didn't last long as she went back to her nicotine. Taking a decent sized drag, holding it and gulping the remains of her beer, before sipping the other and exhaling. Eyes to the door to see Mogui enter, but even his flavored essence could not hold a candle to greasy nachos. Food can be delicious.
Mo moseys on towards the bar, sliding up onto an empty seat. Dawson returns from the back room and casually walks through the patrons to head over to his seat behind the bar. A quick glance is given over to the bikers to make sure they're still doing their thing before he looks at those clustered around Danny and the booze fountain.
Brenn glances over at Mo and offers him a nod of his head then back towards Bobbi, "Hope they got what's comin to 'em then. Can't stand folks like that." Finishing up his burger he starts to work on his fries, "So how difficult would it be to get a new exhaust for my bike? Kinda wanna make her purr a bit louder."
"Last I saw them they were being dragged kicking and screaming to hell," Bobbi says with a chuckle. Then looking to Brenn she notes, "Yeah, that's no problem, can take care of it in a couple of hours if you want to bring your bike by. Got all the parts, and can jump you to the front of the line."
The dark haired woman glances over her shoulder, taking a little longer look at the uniquely dressed - at least for this bar - man. She arches a brow briefly before turning back to Brenn and Bobbi. Eden gets a quick sideways glance as she pays for her refill. She smirks, chuckling softly under her breath. "Good riddance." She remarks to the 'kicking and screaming to hell' comment. "Likely depends on where you go and who you have work on it." She lifts a shoulder in a half shrug, then tosses back her bourbon. "So you work on bikes too?" She asks Bobbi.
"Someone taking people back to my place?" Dawson jokes in reference to Bobbi's line about being dragged to hell. "Haven't had to /drag/ anyone back there for a while but there's a fair bit of kicking and screaming at least at some point." With a flat smile upon his face he looks between Brenn and Bobbi and the others clustered around the bar as if inviting all of them with his eyes, "Busy later?"
Bobbi looks around, "Yeah, I service more than half the bikes in this place. I work at Angel Restorations just a few blocks from here." She mentions a local garage with an excellent reputation, known to so a sideline as a chop shop and adding secret compartments to vehichles. "Come by if you need some work done. As anyone here if you have questions about my work." Bobbi tilts her head at Dawson, and with a grins, "I thought we had already had the conversation about the possibilities of us actually fucking ..."
Eden finishes off her nachos, drains her last beer, puts out a cigarette in the ashtray in one fluid motion. With the unclasping of her aviators she slips them on her face. Twirling lightly from her bar stool she double checks to make sure she has everything and gives a backwards deuces sign. Heading out as the pilot slipped on her leather gloves. The dark haired woman can't help but smile a bit, flashing a bit of pearly whites in Dawson's direction before turning her attention back to Bobbi. "I do all my own work on my bike." Another quick sideways glance in Eden's direction as she makes her exit, then back to Bobbi. "Haven't found a good spot for me to do the work though..." She rolls her shoulders. "Do you know if they need a part timer?"
Brenn glances over as Eden starts to head out of the bar watching as she walks away and then looking back at the others, "Not mechanically inclined so I'd rather let somebody else work on it rather than break it myself and then have to pay for somebody to fix my screw up and then do the job I'd tried to start out on." He looks back at Dawson and hmmms, "Busy for..." Then Bobbi's talking and Brenn blinks some, "oh ummm hopefully?" This large wooden box next to the bar is full of random things collected over the years in the bar. Sometimes it's things people left behind when they got thrown, drug deal gone bad, etc. Who knows what you could find in this thing. The contents range in importance, rarity, time period and weirdness.
Pile of Boxes----------------------------------
You dig through the pile of boxes until they come across a strange object. Long forgotten and obscured within this strange room, they find something of note and importance - at least to someone.

This unassuming person sits alone at one of the booths and will listen to whatever you have to tell him. Feel free to tell him about what services you offer for hire, rumors you've heard or things happening around town.
Dawson glances over to the ever-growing pile of Lost-and-Found items. "Ok..." he calls out to those around the bar to get their attention, his voice is a bit louder than normal to carry over the background noise. "Weirdest dig in the drop box drinks and eats for free...all night" He points to the box by the edge of the bar and tells people, "Go..."
Bobbi looks to the dark haired woman. "Stop by sometime and I'll give you a try out," she says. "I'm doing 72 hour weeks, and wouldn't mind working less. Don't really need that much money, plus I want to be able to work on my art more. Can you weld?" She looks to Brenn, "As I said, bring it by and I'll take care of it, no problem." Bobbi goes to check out the lost-and-found.

The dark haired woman nods, leaning back to reach around behind Brenn. "Name's Rio." The announcement has her raising her brows and her gaze follows Bobbi toward the lost and found. "Hmm, maybe I should check it out." She slides from the stool to head over to the lost and found.

Brenn looks over at Rio and frowns a bit as he looks over at her again, "You know you remind me of somebody I met the other day. Anyways I'm Brenn a pleasure Rio." He nods towards Bobbi, "I'll bring 'er by. It'd be nice to get a little more power outta that engine." He

The mysterious pilot, Eden removes a long skeleton key with a skull for a handle. The key is old and cast ironed, with holes through the eyes. It might be the one that unlocks the gateway to hell spoken of earlier. Either way, Eden bites the grip playfully and tucks it away into her jacket. Saluting Dawson with two fingers and heading out.
Rio comes back to the bar with a small box in her hands, setting it on the bar. Looking over at Dawson. "Does this qualify?" She opens the box, turning it for him to see three small pyramids of incense, one black, one white and one red. Brenn gets a look with her brows raised. "Think I saw you in the bar the other night. Maybe you're just a little mixed up?"
Lost and Found---------------------------------
Kaiya digs through the pile of boxes until they come across a strange object. They find:
A wolf-headed cane that secretly has a blade hidden in the shaft.

MoGui glances to the back of the bar and the bikers gathered there.
Dawson looks over as people start to dig through the Lost-And-Found pile and smiles as they start pulling out weird and weirder stuff. "If you want to keep it - whatever ya find - you're welcome to. But it's up to you."

Rio grins from ear to ear. "I love it." She holds the cane up, turning it this way and that... until she realizes that the handle separates from the body of the cane and there's a blade inside. "Ooooh.. this is a beauty."
Brenn shakes his head a bit, "Nah. She had blonde hair just looked a lot like you. And it was over by the beach." He walks back over and sets an alabaster mask down shaped like a woman's face, "Doubt this'll win but it was pretty neat."
Dawson looks over to the woman who fetches the ornate cane from the void-like depths of the stuff box. He seems rather confused and somewhat jealous - especially when she finds the blade hidden within. Then, when the guy finds the beautifully worked mask he just shakes his head, "This bar's been around for at least forty years - in one form or another. The stuff we found up in the loft was like a friggen time capsul."
Rio keeps the cane tucked between her knees with the cane's end resting on the floor. Seems like she's intent on keeping her little prize. "Anything more up there? I wouldn't mind scrounging. Especially if you have anything more like this up there." She glances down at the cane, then flags Danny over for a refill on her bourbon. This'll be her fourth and she only looks mildly relaxed.
Dawson hrms, "You got a need for a cane there...?" He looks curiously at Rio and tries to remember if she ever had a limp when she came in or wandered around to the pool tables. "Or just gonna break a leg to make it work?"
Rio laughs, shaking her head. "I just like cool things." She drops her hand to her lap, rubbing the wolf-head of the cane. "It looks kinda fierce, you know?"
Brenn hmms, "Pimp cane for the lady." He finishes up his beer and motions for another one sliding the money on the bar in exchange for the bottle, "Cool things are always good. Although not sure the cane look works with a bike."
Dawson nods, "Oh yeah. I gotta wonder though...what mobster or pimp lost it here back in the day? Maybe it was one of those high-class types that came in for nefarious purposes?" He smiles and tilts his head to the side a little and tries to give the curious cane another examination. "So don't blame me if you get some guy named Vinny checking ya out sometime."
Rio flashes Brenn a smile. "Oh, I'll make it work." She grins, taking a sip of the bourbon. Seeing Dawson casting a gander at her lap she arches her brows. "I got guys checking me out all the time." She rolls her shoulders. "Ain't nothin new."
Brenn looks at Rio and shakes his head, "Yeah but Vinny's gonna be checkin out the cane not you. All because you got it from his Cousin who's almost a lawyer."
Dawson turns to Brenn and the mask he found, "So...why don't you put it on and see if it fits." He turns to Rio to hopefully enlist her aid in pressuring him into putting it on. "Doncha think he should?"
Rio furrows her brow, giving Brenn a quizical look. "Whosa whatsit?" She glances at her drink, then back to Brenn. Dawson's suggestion has the puzzled expression turning into a grin. "Oh, hell ya. It's so you... and if you do, I'll buy your next drink."
Viviana steps into the bar and looks around with eager eyes. She didnt stick out much just that was a bit on the short side. Her outfit a simple pair of jeans, boots and t shirt. Her feet move towards the bar where she takes a seat
Brenn looks at the mask then looks at Dawson and Rio and just shakes his head, "I don't think that mask is me." He reaches over and picks it up as he looks over at Viviana stepping towards the bar and holds the mask up to his face, "What do you think miss. Is it me?"
The second the mask is on and covers your face, your eyes blink once before you can see through the holes and when they open the world has changed. It's like someone has dialed up the color saturation on everything and everyone present. Colors almost glow, hell the people -almost- glow as you look at them. Their skin seems somewhat more vibrant, more alive. Well, all but one.
Dawson, the white-haired bar owner - or you assume that it's him, practically ... wait. It's not him. There's something else in the room; a blackened almost shadowy figure that hovers right beside Dawson. The shadowy thing is one part Dementor from Harry Potter, one part wraith from nearly every ghost story and a few parts creepy.
As you look towards it, it's hooded head is turned to look at Rio and then its attention -snaps- towards you like it realized, finally, that you were able to see it.
Dawson watches as Brenn puts the mask up to his face and just lets out a smile as Rio helped push him into it. "Anyone else? Weirdest thing from the Lost and Found and ya drink and eat for free tonight."
Viviana has just gotten her drink and she then takes a sip. The question is posed to her and her dark eyes study the mask. "Yes it is you" Her full lips curve into an unnerving smile
Rio tosses back the last of her bourbon, sliding a few extra bills across the bar as a tip. "I'd love to take you up on that but... I need to be heading out." She grins. "It's been a blast though." She gives a nod to Dawson. "I think this place has just become my favorite. Ya got great booze..." She glances toward the pool tables. ".. a bit of a challenge..." She slides her feet to the floor making sure to grab the cane while she's at it. She lifts it to be seen over the bar. "... and a bit of unexpected fun."
Brenn blinks a bit as the mask is over his face and then just points at a spot next to Dawson, "Dafuq..." He just blinks some more as he tries to process then he pulls the mask away looking right beside Dawson, "Uhhh... I think that thing was laced with drugs. Or you've got a haunted bar."
Rio gives Brenn a quizical look, then glances over at Dawson. "Maybe you should call him a cab?"
Dawson turns to Brenn and seems confused and a bit curious at his reaction. "Well -of COURSE- this place is haunted. It's called the STYX for a reason." He just smiles but there's part of his expression, something in his eyes that watches Brenn cautiously. What -did- he see?
Viviana glances to the place that Brenn pointed to then back to Brenn, her eyebrows raising. "What have you been drinking young man?" Brenn looks over at Rio and shakes his head, "Not drunk. Just..." He sets the mask down and pushes it towards Dawson, "That mask is somethin else you may wanna hang onto it." He motions towards a spot near Dawson, "Saw one of them Harry Potter ghosts dementors or whatever they were? I just watched that movie again the other night maybe that's why I saw it just my imagination playin with me." He looks over at Viviana, "Just beer."
Rio pulls her gloves from her jacket pockets - yes, she wore her Harley jacket the entire time - and starts putting them on. "Try not to get yourself killed." She mentions to Brenn and gives Dawson a nod. The other woman... first time she's really looking at her... she offers a curious look. Her gaze lingers briefly, as if trying to figure something out. After a bit, she shakes her head, as if clearing it, then prepares to head out.
Dawson reaches over to take the mask from the guy and slides it over to him a the bar. "I'll have one of the minions put it on later to see if they trip out. Could have been some old drugs on it or something. But...ya know - will see if they trip bawls or not. He sees Rio taking steps to head out and offers her a wave.
Lost and Found---------------------------------
Viviana digs through the pile of boxes until they come across a strange object. They find: A wooden, two-pronged flute that looks like the letter 'Y'. Vines and leaves are carved along its length though the wood is difficult to identify.

- What you do with it is entirely up to you.
Viviana continues to sip her beer as the other hand digs into the lost and found. She pulls out a wooden two-pronged flute..."What the hell.."
Brenn nods, "Prolly for the best. Although if it is laced with drugs I'd like to know. Just in case they've got some lasting side effects." He glances over at Viviana digging through the box and holding up a Y shaped flute, "Oh that's rather neat. Anybody able to play somethin like that? Nearest thing I've seen is some kid on youtube with two recorders stuffed up his nose."
Making her way into the pool hall, Kaede may or may not fit in. She's tiny, after all, and her clothes are of a good cut but she is also not dressed in any sort of high-fashion nor does she 'smell' like money at a glance. She is niether openly hostile nor actively demure and carries herself with a confidence that simply comes from self-knowledge.
Viviana glances at the flute and chuckles. What could she do? She plays the damn thing! When she hears the music she cant help but dance along
A short Slavic woman dressed in primarily denim attire enters the biker bar initially quietly, somehow particularly difficult to notice or remember. At least initially. She walks over towards the bar, eyeing the strange flute that a couple people are playing with and playing, before waving over towards Dawson and addressing him with her Eastern European accent.
"Good evening, Dawson. I hope that you've been doing well?"
Not taking anything for granted or...maybe because Dawson has seen too many movies, the white-haired bar owner clamps his hands over his ears as he sees the woman bring the strange Y-flute to her lips. Thankfully he, and many others are unaffected my the music or whatever melody of notes that Viv is able to produce. But there's always one...in every crowd.
Brenn blinks as he hears the flute. His foot starts to tap along to the music he slides off the stool and walks over to one of the pool tables and deftly jumps up onto it before he starts to dance to the song on the flute taking a deep drink from his bottle, "That's my jam!" Or something.
Tipping her head a little at the flute music, Kaede blinks once. The look on her face speaks to it not having been something she expected to hear in this particular place. "Did I wander into the Bee and Barb?" she murmurs to herself before heading over to the benches. She at least will seem a little less tiny on a bench. Maybe. Hey, there is Val, coming into the styx backwards. Mainly so she can give the middle finger to someone outside. Possibly at random. The clunk of her boots, and a lit joint still between her lips as she makes it in. "Hey, who put Jethro Tull on?" A beat. "Oh right, imma need two bottles of miller."
Seeing Brenn jump up on the bar draws Dawson's immediate attention and he's quick to try and nip this in the bud. "Ok, so there probably -was- something on that mask," because what -else- could it have been? "Danny - you got the bar", he calls and scrambles around the bar to get over to the pool table to try and 'gently' convince the guy to get down.
Viviana watches Brenn and suddenly laughs as he dances, but that doesnt stop her from putting the flute down. She continues to play a few more notes before sneaking a sip of her beer
Bobbi once again enters the Styx, wearing a leather bikers jacket, black hoodie, black fingerlss gloves, indigo skinny jeans, and a pair of cuhuc taylor conerse all stars. Of all her tattoos, only the two on her temples, her fingers, and the swaths of blacked out flesh on her neck are visible. She walks back to the bar and takes a seat near the third of a beer she left earlier. "Sorry, emergency at the garage," she says. "Did I miss anything?" she asks before indicating to Danny taht she'll take a fresh round.
Evonnia watches the woman playing the flute with a curiousity as she heads to the bar. And then she watches Brenn hop up onto a pool table and begin dancing, stopping in her tracks. She chuckles as an eyebrow raises. "It seems that he likes the tune," she comments to noone in particular, before glancing to Dawson as he tries to put a stop to it. "I take it people don't take to dancing here very often?"
Dawson turns towards the bar and where Viv continues to toot on the flute and calls for someone to stop her. "Come on bro - you can dance somewhere else. I gotta get ya down off there..." he tries to entice the guy down off the pool table even though he might /look/ like he's enjoying every step. Tian dyrpd into the room with all the excitment going on will probably be unnoticed as he makes his way to the bar and takes a seat. For those that would notice him, they would see one that seems to move as gracefully as a gentle breeze. He slips onto a seat and waits patiently to be noticed.
Brenn blinks as he looks down at Dawson and shakes his head a bit then blinks some as he gets himself a bit under control again and then looks at where he's at, "Crap." He jumps down landing on his feet and then shakes his head, "Sorry about that don't know what came over me."
Honestly rather nonplussed by it all, Kaede looks over some messages for a moment... though she does eye the person dancing on a pool table with a sort of observational calm. A healthy set of dredlocks catches her eye, however, and she sings out in a rather flute-like tone of her own "Oh! Hello again Bobbi. Fancy meeting you here. How are you?" "Man, just throw singles at him." Val comments, hands moving to brush off her coat before a hand slips into a pocket to pull out a wad of pesos. She shrugs her shoulders for a moment before setting them down on the bar, holding up a pair of fingers before she points to the bottle cooler. "You seen Gambler?"
Viviana sets the flute down and then picks it up for one final note then she puts it back down. She proceeds to down her beer and call for another
Bobbi's drinks arrives and she downs her shot of well whiskey like it was nothing, takes a pull of her beer, and taps for another shot. She pulls out some cash and slides it across the table. "A little better now," Bobbi says. "Some guy messed up his bike a bit running over an opossum. I took care of it, but I made him hose it off first." Bobbi raises her left hand to greet Valentina, revealing a plam sigil tattoo. "Hey, been awhile, huh? Been seeing a lot of you lately."
As Viviana ends the flute's tyranny over the room, Evonnia heads over towards the end of the bar to cast a curious gaze upon the large box that it came from. She tilts her head back and forth contemplatively, considering the game seemingly at hand, before deciding to sate her curiousity. She reaches into the mystery box to see what she can make emerge from it.

Evonnia digs through the pile of boxes until they come across a strange object. They find: A long titanium tube with a biohazard symbol on both ends and a digital scan bar around the middle.

As Brenn gets down off the pool table he's led into the back where he's gone for a bit before he comes back into the bar area with a wet face, and water along the top of his shirt from splashing himself to wash the remaining 'drugs' from the mask off.
"Not trying to balance the weight of a world on the head of a pin while counting the angels." Val notes with a shrug. "Plus the mice are driving me fucking insane. So I come out and see if Gambler is around, and when he ain't go get shit faced and find something to lay."
Bobbi pulls out an old looking deed from inside her leather jacket. "I found this on my way out," she says. "Looks like I'm the new owner of some land in the Cobre Desert." She looks about, before adding, "Did you know, at least in California, that a deed can be amended, but not altered? You'll find some pretty racist shit at the beginnings of a lot of the older deeds." Bobbi flips to the front of the deed, "Oh yeah, there it is." She shakes her head with a mix of disbelief and disgust. Bobbi looks to Dawson, "What's the deal with DJ Detweiler over there?" she asks gesturing with her head towards the flute.
Rising from the bench, Kaede makes her way to the bar as well to sit on the stool beside Bobbi. Well, try to anyway. Bar stools are about chest height or so for her. She tries to be nonchalant, playing it off as no big deal as she secures her laptop case against her shoulder with its strap and sort of palm-vaults onto the stool... nearly going over the other side if not for the bar itself to stop her. "Eeep... " she intones, but corrects herself and clears her throat. Dawson shakes his head at Bobbi, having no idea what's up with the flute or the things in the box. "I dunno. Remember the loft upstairs? This is most of the stuff we found up there. I figured people could just sort through it and grab what they wanted. Didn't think he'd uh...react like that."
Evonnia stares at the strange tube she pulls out of the box, giving it a curious look over. "What is this supposed to be?" she mumbles seemingly to nobody in particular. Not seeming to recognize the biohazard symbols upon it or perhaps ignoring them, she gives it a sniff before holding it beside her ear and giving it a shake. And then, she attempts to find a way to open it, picking at the ends to see if she can figure it out.
Viviana watches Brenn and laughs gently as she beckons to him to join her at the bar. She takes her newly poured drink and sips on it as she notices more people coming in. Her mind wanders some, dark thoughts creeping in. She shakes her head and refocuses "It has candy in it." Val notes, finger gunning at Evonnia. Then she is grabbing her arrived bottles of Miller Light and heading for the pool tables.
Bobbi looks to Kaede. "You ok there, sister-goddess-friend?" she asks. Bobbi then looks to Evonnia and notes, "Far out, a bong." She downs her second shot of well whiskey and takes another pull off the Coors Light. Then looking back to Evonnia, "Wanna bury in the desert at my new property to mess with future archaeologists? ... and hey." Dawson walks back over to the bar after getting Brenn down and takes a moment to let a sigh of breath out before he glances over to Evonnia and what she's got in her hand. "Uh...what's that?" he asks with a near-shocked look on his face.
Tian finally orders 3 beers, a cheeseburger, and fries. He looks down the bar to Evonnia, "I knew a man once, that liked to open things. He found a key once that opened a lock. Behind the lock there was a chain. Removing the chain he was able to open the door. When he opened the door, he died."
"Hah, yeah," responds Kaede to Bobbi with a faint smirk "The stool is just... a little high." Or she's a little short. Perhaps luckily, Kaede has missed the tube with the biohazard marks because just mounting the stool took so much concentration at her small stature. "So you are a motorcycle mechanic?" she asks Bobbi, intrigued. Evonnia glances at Valentina and offers her a nod. "Hmm. Well, I'm the one who found it, yes?" she notes with a smirk as she continues to try to open the tube. "A bong?" she questions, looking at Bobbi. "I'm not certain what you mean. But if you wish to bury it for some reason, then perhaps." She shrugs her shoulders. "But I'm seeing what's inside first." She looks over at Tian and shrugs her shoulders. "Good thing this isn't a door then, yes?" she asks, before casually trying to smash one end of it off by hitting it against he edge of the bar. Looking to Dawson as she does, she responds to him, "A bong with candy inside, or so I'm told. If not? One way to find out, yes?"
Bobbi nods to Kaede. "Well, I like to think I'm more than /just/ a grease monkey, but yet, I'm a grease monkey. I work at Angel Restorations if you ever need any work done, stop by. Mostly bikes, but cars and welding too." She mentions a nearby garage with a reputation for good work, as well as doing a sidelin as a chop shop and installing traps. Bobbi looks to Evonnia, "Bongs are what's killing are youth, and I guarantee if you manage to open that we'll all be dead or on the news."
Joel follows up Tian's words with, "And I call it 'The Aristocrats'," as he heads into the bar, cellphone out. He looks to Evonnia, raising his brows more than a little skeptically. "Hulk smash. Hulk get Pringles can of snakes fly in face. Hulk not smash anymore. Dawson, got a Guinness?" He's feeling rather ebullient, it seems, pleased about /something/. But that cellphone isn't going away anytime soon as he strolls to the bar counter.
Viviana finishes her beer and slips off the bar stool. She places some extra money on the bar top and slips out
"Joel, this place isn't fancy enough for Guiness, try Pabst." Val holds up her bottle of Miller, drains half of it, then wanders over to get a poolstick off the wall. "And Bobbi, you may be fucked, pretty sure I will be alright."
Brenn finally comes out from the back and is very much back to himself now. Maybe a bit wet but he's back to himself. At least until the next crazy thing happens. He makes his way over back to the bar to slip into a stool again, "Okay. Hope I didn't make too much of a fool of myself..."
"Umu, I drive an old truck. A 1989 Ford Courier... I restored it myself but maintenance is usually best left in the hands of an expert. Gets good gas mileage though, and has a nice get up and go. And believe me, yes... first thing I did was make sure it had a good catalytic converter in keeping with environmental regulations... " Eyes following the banging against the bar, not to mention Bobbi's words, "Are um... those... biohazard symbols on the tube she is bashing against the bar?"
"Pabst Blue Ribbon? Fuck that shit," Joel tosses back, clearly having seen 'Blue Velvet'. But the broad smile on his lips lessens a bit when he see the pink-haired woman, a bit of displeasure crossing his face. He turns back to Dawson, raising his brows, extending a hand for the hypothetical Guinness and glancing down towards his phone as he waits. "Don't worry, Stan Lee, we'll all die. But I'll come back to haunt Prospect forever. They can't get rid of me that easily."
Joska arrives in the bar and looks a bit out of place. She's a fairly plain woman but she's still tall and thin, definitely not rocking biker chic here. She walks with a slight sway in her hips as she moves towards the bar itself, her eyes drifting over the many unfamiliar faces here.
"'89, huh?" Bobbi asks, "Well if you need me to take a look at it, bring it by." She then nods to Kaede, "I'm pretty sure that's exactly what you think that is. Hearing Joel misquotes, Bobbi notes, "Let's not go there, I just got over being Sandy Fucking Williams, and I don't think I want to go there again, and I don't think anyone who knew me then wants to go back to that. Besides, you misquoted, though not as bad as the time I heard a construction worker saying 'Spider, get my shine box.'"
"Right, well power to you." Val shrugs, and with a cluck of her tongue returns her stick. A drain of her bottle, to leave it on the pool table, and the spare one taken up in her hand as she checks her boots for a second then meanders towards the door. "Off to find Gambler."
Evonnia raises an eyebrow at Bobbi's answer, turning her head as she looks at her with suspicion. She looks at the tube for a few moments before pondering aloud, "I can think of plenty of things that could kill young men far more easily than this. Somehow I'm not very worried." Assuming her last attempt at smashing the tube open failed, she simply resorts to attempting to snap the biohazard-labeled tube in half by bending it between each end. "I might need Ciar's help to open this..." she mumbles.
Joska glances to the back of the bar and the bikers gathered there.
Joska checks out the vibe of the place to find out just how risky it can be.
Dawson leans in and offers his hand to Evonnia, "Can I help you with that?" His voice is painfully calm, purposefully poised as though practiced to provide practical guidance at this PARTICULAR moment. "Please...let me give it a shot."
Bobbi downs a third shot of well whiskey, takes a pull of a Coors Light, and taps for a fourth before pushing some cash towards Danny the Bartender. Bobbi looks to Evonnia, "Just show it to Xiu, she'll know how to open. Make sure to send my love an tell her to visit more often."
"Joel!" says Kaede happily, "Nice to see you again. Did you see how many re-tweets your drawing got?" She smirks a little, and then looks back to the tube with a flat gaze. "You know what? Fuck it. I've had a long, productive, life this turn." She nods to the bar tender, "You god something hard and stout? And I don't mean your porn collection."
Joel gives Bobbi a flat look. "Cool story, bro." He lifts a shoulder in a mute shrug at Val, before taking a long look at Evonnia, his eyes widening. "Are you, like... not all there? That's a goddamn biohazard symbol. I mean, you wanna stick your head on the block, feel free, but like I just told someone, collateral damage ain't a /good/ thing." He drops his hand for the Guinness, since Dawson has an obvious preoccupation, willing to wait. Brenn's arrival earns a jab of his chin. "Oh shit, it's the cops. Well, cop, singular." He shakes his head at Kaede. "Didn't check. Been busy with other stuff online. How many? Like... ten? Twelve?"
At the bar, Joska glances down the bar towards the woman handling the tube and the bartender? asking to give it a shot. For now she just stares with rapt curiosity.
Brenn looks over at Danny and motions for another drink, "I think I need a whiskey this time though. Need to calm my brain a bit." He looks over at Evonnia and her... "The crap... What the..." He shakes his head, "This place is gonna keep me on my toes for sure."
"Someone's butt hurt," Bobbi mutters as she downs another shot and takes a pull off her beer.' Tian looks at Evonnia and then over to the box. He tries not to get off his seat but finds himself standing. He looks away from the box but finds himself being bumped into and reaches out to steady himself by grabbing onto the box, but not onto the box but in it and..
"Thousands," is Kaede's response to Joel, "Apparently you and my fans share a sense of humor. At least the ones that follow MY Twitter. Not exactly viral, but people want to see pics of my western friend who drew the stick figure in poop emoji comic." She gives the box an arch look, and you can almost see equations floating over her head.
Lost and Found---------------------------------
Tian digs through the pile of boxes until they come across a strange object. They find: An old black and white photograph from the turn of the centuries. Three people are present with two of their faces scratched out. Someone with your face or a close proximity still remains.
- These are just tokens to help you flesh out your rp.
- What you do with it is entirely up to you.
Danny tries to fill people's orders as quickly as possible but he's got one eye on Evonnia and her metallic tube as well. He -really- hopes she either stops trying to break it or someone can get it from her.
Evonnia peers down with frustration at the industrial tube allegedly containing some sort of biohazard. Determined, she looks to Dawson and shakes her head. "It's quite alright... I'm going to figure this puzzle out. There must be some trick to opening it," she insists. Joel is given a look like he's crazy, the Eastern European woman clearly skeptical of his claims. "What do you mean? All of me is here," she replies in her accented voice. "What even is this 'goddamn biohazard symbol'? I very much doubt that's something that's actually harmful. Anymore than a stick, at least." She stops trying to brute force the biohazard tube and begins looking it over, puzzling out some trick to get it open as she pokes, twists, and prods at it.
Joel's eyes widen. "Dawson, I didn't see any short buses parked outside. Is there one in the shop?" He looks around the space, moving for the black booth after a few moments, hooking a thumb towards Kaede. "Stan Lee, c'mere. I'd call you by your name but you got two versions, and I've just miraculously forgotten which you want to be called by and which one's legit. Or I don't care. But I'd rather not you get whacked because Queen Stupid of Big Dumb Mountain is over there trying to claim her crown in perpetuity." There's a warning note in his voice now for Evonnia, but he seems perfectly willing to distance himself from whatever the incipient insanity might be. "And hey, take a pic. I don't care. No names attached, all good. I know I'm hot." He is not particularly that. Writing reality out to disk. Please wait... Reality saved. Thank you for your patience.
Tian steps over to Evonnia and laughs with a laugh that sounds as delightful and as a babbling brook on a hot summers day, "Hey! This looks like me." He speaks with a heavy Tibetian accent. He moves the picture infront of the tube to show Evonna the picture, "Look...can you tell which city this was taken in?" He looks around for support tying to get others to come take a look. He tries to hand Evonna the picture and casually take the tube away from her and if that actually works would hold it behind his back for someone else to take it from him.
Bobbi mutters at her beer.
"Just call me Kaede," responds the tiny Japanese woman as she looks down at the bar stool, then over to Joel. She smiles to Bobbi, "I probably will bring my truck by some time, I'd love to have you look it over. Maybe I can learn how to ride a motorcycle too." She hops... yes hops... down from the bar stool. It's a good foot or so drop for her. After all, she's about 56 inches high and the stool is a minimum of 29. "Hup... mm," she manages, recorrecting her laptop bag against her shoulder before smoothing out her skirt. Because if she is going to die to a super plague, she is going to at least be kempt when it happens. She snags a shot of something dark, leaving the agreed upon amount for Danny, and makes her way to where Joel is sitting. "I know. I get that it's probably a tube of Anthrax or something. I've made peace with this life." It's hard to tell if she is being morosely comedic, or if she is serious.
Brenn glances over at Joel and shakes his head, then looks back at the biohazard tube, "You sure we should be opening pandora's tube?" Then they're trying to do some slick move to get it removed and just turns to down his whiskey at least he'll go out with a strong drink in his belly. Kaede sits down at the Black Booth.
Bobbi nods to Kaede, "Sure thing, just stop on by. Angel Restorations." After a beat she adds, "Yeah, me too. I realized at birth we all walk backwards over a cliff to certain death. There's no need to be worried about it though, we all get there eventually. The other cliff I've walked off is the one I'm worried about."
Evonnia's sky blue gaze slowly rises up from the biohazard tube to Joel as the man insults her, ignoring the other people trying to snag away the potentially deadly container from her. She smirks slightly as she speaks towards him, "Well, if you don't wish for your friend to get whacked, then you can take it yourself," she calmly utters, before abruptly raising the titanium tube up in one arm and lobbing it violently towards the man's head. Looks like she doesn't take well to insults.
Joska is still sitting at the bar, watching the shenanigans continue at the bar. She's ordered a glass of whiskey that she's sipping on.
Alejandro makes his way into the bar. The suit, as some have called him in the past, sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the regular crowd. Stepping in just in time to see the titanium canister flying through the air.
Bobbi fiddles with something in her pocket while muttering in a strange language.
Joel is talking with Kaede, keeping a sharp watch on the bar. Or, he would be, if he hadn't looked back towards Kaede to tell her something very critical about the danger everyone is clearly in at Prospect, all the time, always. Wrong time, because he whips his head back around in time to spot the toss, moving to dodge out of the way. He's quick, but Evonnia throws like Sandy Koufax, and the biohazard tube snaps open in midair dangerously close to him.
Goodbye, folks, that's all!
For... Joel's dignity, as a riot of sparkly glitter explodes all over the trenchcoated man, coating the table, some of it somewhat sprinkling Kaede. The twentysomething fellow gets the bulk of the explosion, staring for a long, horrified moment. And then, abruptly, he bursts out in laughter. "Fuck you, Dawson, and the Harley you rode in on." Evonnia isn't getting blamed for this one!
Brenn just watches at the glitter bomb that exploded all over Joel and blinks... "With my night this is actually quite entertaining." He turns and finishes off his whiskey before he looks back at Joel, "Noooow I see why strippers love their glitter!"
Tian looks down at his hand for missing the catch. He then looks to Evonnia, "That was a good throw!." He looks back at his picture, "So you don't know what city this is?" Bobbi grins happily at the bar while she mutters to herself.
"AWWWAAK!!" comes out of Kaede's mouth about the time the tube comes exploding into glitter all over Joel. Well, and her. Some gets on her, that's inevitable... gliiter is notorious for going everywhere. "Oh... oh gods... " she says, hand against her chest splay-fingered. That is when she starts to laugh. She throws her head back and laughs, her feet kicking a little where she sits. "Oh, ohhhh we're alive! It wasn't Anthrax or Serin or something awful.... ahahaha... and I'm so glad I didn't wear anything low cut today. I'm going to have a hard enough time... heeheeheee... "
Alejandro seems to stare in the general direction of Bobbi for a moment, letting a soft smile slowly bleed across his lips before making his way over towards the bar.
Bobbi places her elbow on the shoulder and tilts her her to the side, resting it on her hand. "Hey Dawson," Bobbi starts, "Which one of the My Little Ponies is your favorite?" Bobbi, head still resting on her hand, turns slightly to Alejandro, "Haven't seen you in awhile. How's your evening going?"
Evonnia grins in satisfaction towards Joel as she watches the biohazard tube explode right before reaching him, assaulting the man and those around him with a massive cloud of glitter. She looks towards Tian and nods at his compliment. "I've had a lot of practice. Hmm..." She gazes down at the photograph the man shows her, and an eyebrow slowly rises in confusion as she sees what's on there. Slavic profanity is muttered beneath her breath, as she looks it over for a moment, but then she looks back to the man and shakes her head. "No. I don't recognize that city."
The white-haired owner was nearly ready to leap over the bar to try and grab the mysteriou metal tube before it hit anyone or the ground or exploded or something. Yup. He was going to sacrifice himself, possibly, for all y'all. But when it detonates into a shower of glittery stripper fun, his eyes go wide in shocked disbelief. "Da fuq!!?!" The words bellow out of his mouth but they don't seem to be aimed at Evonnia, or Joel or even the strange canister on the ground - nope. He's looking around for something or someone -else-.
And -maybe- it was a trick of the light, maybe a pair of headlights just happen to brush the front of the bar and blur through the windows at -just- the right moment but you'd swear that the biker's eyes got brighter somehow. Just for a moment. Yup, had to be glitter in your eyes or something.
Tian looks over at Alejandro, then Bobbi, then between then and back to Evonnia and nods. He says, "Shame that. Might be interesting to go to such place and see what one might discover on one that looks like himself." "Sonofabitch glitter," Joel remarks, unruffled by the glitterbombing. He's silent for a moment, pensive, and then turns back to the table, brushing some glitter off the table, and lowering his voice to speak to the woman, spitting a little glitter out of his mouth as he does so. "You didn't get any in your drink, did you? Check before you sip," he adds, more loudly.
"It goes well." Alejandro replies, slipping down onto one of the barstools and pulling a wallet out of his breast pocket. "You? I trust you've been doing well enough in my absence. Staying out of trouble and all that." Looking over at Danny, he simply orders a Miller and drops two bills on the table. "Came by to see Dawson, but he seems a little busy tonight." The Cuban returns the wallet to his jacket and pulls out a thick cigar, rolling it around in his fingers as he turns back towards Bobbi.
Bobbi hmms, "I don't know if I ever really truly stay out of trouble, but ... I'm at least not getting caught." Bobbi chuckles. "Yeah, Dawson's a bit busy, what with the biohazard and the glitter. Shame about that."
"Ahaha... hoho... no, mirraculously not," says Kaede, "My hands were covering it since I had just sat down." She does look closely, though. Looking over to the bar she says "Curse your box of evil!" in the happiest, most high-pitched, tone. Looking back to Joel she nods slightly, sending scintillations through her black hai... oh no, that was just glitter, nevermind.
Brenn just shakes his head some more at the glitter then turns to rest his back against the bar and watch everybody, "I suppose glitter is a biohazard. It gets everywhere and won't ever go away." He does glance back over towards Dawson's seat as if still remembering something from over there.
Bobbi nods, "Yeah Dawson' you're never going to get all of that out. Damn shame." Dawson just...takes a moment to wrap his head around what happen. Thankfully two of the Fresh Meat, the minions of the bar, are already coming out with dustpans and brooms to try and get what they can off the floor. Unfortunately for them, and probably everyone else in the bar, some random person opens up the front door to the bar just as they open the kitchen doors. This causes a quick, and powerful suction breeze that picks up all the glitter that's over by the bar and tries to whip it around a little bit - ok, more than a little bit. People will find it clinging to them for days.
At Alejendro's voice and joining the bar, the white-haired owner turns his attention to the man and tries to forget the bombing and asks, "Whatcha need bro?"
Evonnia looks to Tian and shrugs her shoulders, considering his words curiously. "Perhaps it might be. But you would have to discover where that is first. With that, I'm afraid I cannot help you." She walks through the cloud of glitter as it blows throughout the room, getting some on her, and picks a few pieces that land on her blouse. She stares at them as she takes a seat at the bar, and sticks them on her tongue to taste them. Her brows furrow as she scratches them off, apparently dissatisfied.
Joel nods slowly at Kaede's response, saying something evenly back to her, still half-turned towards the bar. He doesn't seem in any hurry to get a drink or to get the glitter off him, though his thumbs move vaguely on the cellphone he has at the ready.
Alejandro mutters something under his breath before turning towards Dawson as he's addressed. "Wanted to catch up. See what I've missed, get any gossip. Maybe talk about that thing we talked about a month ago."
Tian moves back to his seat and takes back up his glitter beer and takes a drink. His glitterburger is not very hot but he eats at it anyway, and then there are the glitter fries...which are better with glitter ketchup. He nods to himself as he opens another bottle of beer and takes a sip as the first one seems to have just been consumed.
Brenn blinks as the glitter gets turned into a airborne bio attack and shakes his head as it flows over him and settles onto his jacket and clothes, "Damn. This is never going to get outta my jacket or boots. The rest I can afford to just throw away..."
Dawson nods to Alejandro and holds up a hand to give him a moment to handle the fallout from the glitter bomb before he can skulk away to have such conversations. While taking a quick moment to answer a text or two he slides his phone back in his pocket and turns back to the man before answering. "No movement as such. Resources have become available should you need them. But we...can talk about that in a bit."
Knocking back her shot with a practiced ease, Kaede doesn't bother to go get any more to drink. Perhaps what she had was enough, or perhaps she just doesn't want to risk falling on her ass in the torrent of glitter that covers the floor. Emrick heads through the door with his messenger bag on, the sound of metal clinking from it as usual. He heads towards the bar and gives a wave to Dawson, and then a nod to those he knows. He blinks a bit at glitter in the air and then looks at Dawson "You manage to break anything new Daws?" he says with a smirk
Alejandro nods back to Dawson. "Ofcourse. Patience is something that I generally have in abundance. Mearly wanted to make sure it wasn't forgotten completely." Then, turning back to Bobbi, the cuban tilts his head slightly but doesn't say anything.
"Emrick!" Joel is sparkly. He's usually unmissable, but he's even more so now, shining for all get-out. "Get your ass over here, man." He scoops up a handful of glitter, lobbing it towards the other fellow, because clearly there needs to be /more/ he needs to do to attract anyone's notice. "Haven't seen you in a few days. Have a seat."
Dawson nods and offers Alejandro a faint, if geniune smile of reassurance. "Had to have the bar closed down for a few days for rennovations but it's all good bro." Turning to Brenn, he tries to pull the man in closer with a few waves of his hand. His eyes are affixed to the top of the man's head like he may be covered in glitter and he's offering to dust it off or something.
Brenn eyes the new glitter being thrown up into the air and just shakes his head, "All these poor bikers are going to be sparkly bikers now. It's going to a complete shame." As Dawson tries to pull him closer he leans over to listen to the owner.
Tian finishes his good and takes up the third beer and opens it as he moves over a few seats to sit next to Bobbi and closer to Alejandro, "Do you always encourage such things to be involved with your life?" He looks between Bobbi and Alejandro, "One would think this would not be wise."
Bobbi raises an eyebrow at Tian, and looks into an empty space in the air, to Alejandro, and back to Tian. "Who are you talking about," she asks with a grin.
Alejandro turns towards Tian, arching his brow and silently studying his face for a moment before speaking. "And, what things would that be?"
Looking over to Emrick, Kaede gives him a warm smile as he is called out to by Joel. She nods once to Joel, and then says to Emrick "Hi there! I'm Kaede. Come join us, pull up some glitter, there's plenty to go around."
Emrick looks at one of the fresh meat "There's a shop vac in the basement, in the corner but the table, it's bright red, will probably make your job easier dude." he nods and then gives Danny a wave and holds up two fingers to indicate he wants to beers and then pantomimes biting into a burger then gives a thumbs up. That alld one he walks over to Joels table and smirks "Ya know Joel, you're supposed to be naked when the glitter rains down around you." he then nods and takes a seat since Kaede also offered.
Evonnia hops off the bar stool, not having ordered anything, and begins to take a look about the glitter-covered bar. She grins smugly to herself, perhaps at the chaos that she was involved in creating. She begins to walk towards the exit, apparently deciding to leave without offering anyone farewells. It is a busy night, after all.
"Dawson would like to see that, I'm sure, Emrick, but unluckily for him I like chicks with big racks. In case I haven't told you before," he deadpans to Emrick, before flipping off Evonnia as she goes quit ecasually, lowering his voice for the table.
Dawson whispers "Great bro. Just getting used to having you around. Like I said, we can talk later if you want."
Smirking tartly, Kaede says "Gee darn. I guess that leaves me off the list of prospects then, huh, Joel?" She's obviously just joking either way, and not intending it as anything more than a joke as she tips her empty shot glass on it's side and holds it at an angle between the table and her fingertip. Tian says to those around him, "That is always an interesting question. One might speak to the air so that all can hear and wonder on such things. And yet such a question remains, it is wise to attract things to one that are walk in different dreams than oneself."
"Nothing but air, ponies, and glitter in this bar," Bobbi says. Bobbi then looks from her miniscule chest to Kaede, and notes, "Somehow I'm ok with this." At the mention of the shop vac, Dawson puts two fingers into his mouth and lets loose one of those shrill, almost mom-level whistles to get the attention of the two minions trying to sweep up the glitter with the brooms. There's a quick series of hand jestures and pointing that would a Seal Team confused and one of them seems to get the idea nad they head off to the back for a while.
A few moments later, one of them has the red thing attached to their back with the nozzel in hand, Ghostbuster style and the other has the cord and tries to look just as cool. They scurry over towards the bar, toss Danny the plug and resume cleaning. They even offer to 'suck' the glitter off of people and such if they'll take a second and assume the Davinci pose so they can get to all of the spots.
Yes the Styx is offering a quick suck after a blow...
Joel makes a 'tits' gesture at Kaede as he speaks quietly, cupping his glittery hands around the underside of his glittery not-so-buff pecs. He stares at the arrival of the Shop-Vac, vaguely annoyed, and makes a go-away gesture on behalf of the formerly black, now sparkly, booth, finishing his words before the din of the vacuum drowns them out.
Emrick huffs in humor "Can't speak for anyone else but I wouldn't a minded the show." he says with a smirk and then smiles to Kaede "Nice to meet ya'. Names Emrick. I used to fix this place up, back when the pipes needed work." he adjusts his glasses a bit
Evonnia pauses to turn her head back towards Joel as he flips her off, seeming all the more cocky and satisfied at the gesture of anger directed towards her. She winks back at the man, before she continues towards the exit. She probably had a good time tonight.
Brenn looks over and nods towards Dawson, "Thank you." Then he just looks around at the Fresh Meat offering to suck the glitter... Oh... "What the hell." He stands up to assume the pose so he can get the glitter off his damn jacket. Styx and Stones Pool Hall - Main Bar
"Umu! Nice to meet you as well, Emrick," says Kaede, smiling to him. She laughs over to Bobbi for a moment, saying "You know, I think I may be just fine with it too." She nods to something Emrick says and speaks in a tone that is softer for her table companions.
Tian looks to Bobbi as he sips his beer and simply says, "I know about such things." He looks over at Kaede and then to Bobbi, "She is pretty."
Alejandro shakes his head at Tian and shrugs. "Truth be told, the wisdom of doing something is hardly ever weighted in most people's actions."
Bobbi raises an eyebrow at Alejandro. "Isn't it better that way?" she asks.
Hardy steps into the bar looking around curiously heading over to the bar to check with Danny that there is enough beer and ice up at the bar. Nodding and heading out back getting three packs of beer and a bucket of ice for him. Grabbing a cold water bottle from the icebox looking around at the people present.
Joel lets out a long breath as he says something to his table, still covered glitter (of which Kaede has a portion and Emrick a lesser portion). Hardy's arrival earns a raise of his hand, but he doesn't move to speak to the large man or interrupt him in his efforts to head to the bar.
"It is. Atleast, from my perspective." Alejandro replies to Bobbi with a grin. "But, I'm a very firm believer in free will. Conventional wisdom is nothing more then another chain on the yoke of slavery."
Tian asks Alejandro, "When does Ra sleep? I never..heard, of him sleeping."
It takes a while but the two pieces of fresh meat manage to get most of the glitter off the foor between the booth and the bar. They've offered to suck it off a few people as well and they're still getting the bulk of it before turning towards Joel and the source. Eventually they'll need to hit that booth and the sound's going to be pretty loud. But, since they don't want those three tracking the glitter throughout the rest of the bar, they'll politely ask them to stand and be sucked before they move to another booth to continue their conversation.
Bobbi grins and looks at Alejandro. "Oh?" she asks, "Since when do you believe in free will?"
Emrick smiles as his beers and food arrives and thanks the fresh meat with an extra twenty in tip that he slips into their pocket that hopefully Dawson won't notice.
"I've always believed in free will." Alejandro replies with a shrug. "But, part of that is knowing that all the possible options exist to choose from." Then, to Tian. "I'm sure there are alot of legends you've never heard of."
As the minions near Joel's booth, Dawson calls them over to take another crack at the bar since some of the plague blew onto and around the counter. They offer to suck those at the bar clean a few more times - noting that some of them are still talking and may not have heard them the firs ttime.
Hardy looks to Tian at the bar then Alejandro "Ra descends into the Underworld ferried by his belowed towards his rebirth each morning, defeating the perrils sent to keep him from rising again."
Joel is moving to jab Emrick in the side about something as the fresh meat arrives. "Get fucked; I like my glitter," he tells them, but the minions are already heading back towards the bar, fortunately. The quiet conversation the trio is having continues uninterrupted.
Bobbi shrugs. "Coulda fooled me," she says as she takes a pull from her beer. "No hard feelings though." Bobbi then looks to Hardy, "Oh hey Hardy, you're pretty ... mythological ... tonight. Thanks again for shaking me when I froze up the other night. It went ... ok."
Brenn overhears talk of legends and whatnot and he just looks over, "Any good legends for the area?"
Also letting out a fairly long sigh, apparently at something spoken at her table, Kaede blinks at the talk of legends and perks up a little. However, she has her mind more on what her tablemates are saying and is nodding faintly.
Emrick takes a sip of his beer and smiles as he enjoys the drink. He just gives Joel a bit of a raised eyebrow at the jab.
Hardy looks to Bobbi and nods "If you meant the words that you said, then hesitation is not what you need or intend." he chuckles somewhat "We always have a love for old legends and mythos and we know many of them" grinning to her. Looking to
Brenn "We have not heard to many, and not as elaborate as others we know" "It was not Ra who battled Apep and the other sebau during the barge's trip through Duat." Alejandro replies to Hardy. "Ra holds no power in Duat."
Bobbi nods to Hardy. "I did," she says, "maybe not the best time to have brought them up, but that's how I feel. I know she feels it too, she's just scared and hurt by something. It's ok though, I don't need her words to know." After a beat she adds, "Thanks."
Dawson is finally free enough to be able to get back to other matters and walks over to where Alejandro is posted up and sees if there's anything else that's going on with the man. "Did you want to talk upstairs or are ya good?"
Emrick talks quietly at his table, probably about art, or computers, or cute boys and starts in on his hamburger.
Brenn listens for a bit at the talk of Ra and the duat and just shakes his head, "Beyond my knowledge. I've heard of Ra. And I think the Duat is the border between life and death? Not really sure they only briefly touched on it in history classes."
Bobbi, elbow at the bar, head-tilted resting her head on her hand, idly scratches at her neck as she stares off into space.
Hardy sighs "We said his beloved did, along with Heka, Sia and Hu as well as the Ennead. There are countless of stories that speak of diffrent gods assisting, even some where he joins with Osiris." looking to Bobbi "Love entails pain and loss, without it, it carries little weight. And you are welcome, We did not do much"
"Yes...stories." Alejandro says, letting that soft smile slowly bleed across his lips before turning towards Dawson and giving the man a nod. "Now, or later. At your convienance, Dawson."
Dawson ushers Alejandro towards the back - possibly so that he can distance himself from the glitter sucking pair and maybe so he can have a conversation that's not trying to compete with bikers, people -and- a shop vac.
Bobbi nods, head still resting on her hand. "Yeah, I know," she says, "I've decided to walk off that cliff. I just hope I get caught before I hit the ground." After a beat she adds with a straight face, "Y'all seem to love your Greek myths."
Hardy looks to Bobbi "You know fully well they are Egyptian" shaking his head and sipping his water "We do enjoy our greek stories" looking over to Emrick and Joel offering a wave to them
Joel sends a text, and gets one right thereafter that he replies to. He lets out a breath, his gaze drifting back to his table with a sigh and a shake of his head. His demeanor is still markedly serious though, and his smile at Hardy's wave is plastic at best.
Tian says to Hardy, "He does not know all that he thinks he knows."
Hardy looks to Bobbi "You know fully well they are Egyptian" shaking his head and sipping his water "We do enjoy our greek stories" looking over to Emrick and Joel offering a wave to them
Bobbi just grins at Hardy.
Emrick smiles as Hardy gives him a wave and waves back, a moment later he calls over to Danny "Yo, Danny get Hardy two bugers and basket of fries, on me, please and thanks." and then nods Hardy looks to Tian "He knows enough to think he knows enough, but silly enough to remark on it here of all places" the large man tilts his head "Still to busy for the woods?" Tian says to Hardy, "He insults Ra with the sleeping eye." He hmmms and looks to the door, "We could take a walk."
"He does speak the language," Bobbi notes idly, without elaborating. She lifts her head up and takes her elbow off the bar before tapping for another shot.
For some reason, Kaede shows Joel an open-handed palms-out gesture that is odd for a Japanese native but is pretty universal for 'Peace, I am unarmed' in a dialogue. Likely to disarm some sort of tension. She then proceeds to speak at her table again
Hardy looks to Bobbi and in Ancient Egyptian <Yes, it is quite a rare thing is it not?> looking to Tian "Yes let us walk"
Joel makes a move gesture to Emrick, wanting to leave but sitting in the inside of the booth. He's got his phone out, and the Uber app appears on it, as if to book a ride. He shrugs at Kaede. "All good. Not offended. We're cool. Come on."
Bobbi raises an eyebrow at Hardy. "I didn't say I speak it," she notes. "But I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt despite the fact that you do, just because you've been so sweet and helpful to me." Tian cracks his neck from one side to the other, like a fighter starting to loosen up. "Lots of people speak Arabic. Fewer read it. Fewer read heiroglyphs. And fewer know what they actually mean." He offers a small smile to Hardy and responds back to him in kind, his accent no longer Tibetian but something similiar to Hardy, "I have heard the song of the night. I have heard the breeze blowing through the reeds on the river. I have heard her whisper for more. Who am I to deny all that I have heard?"
Emrick puts the burger down and looks to Joel "Fine." he stands and leaves cash on the table and then throws his bag over his shoulder.
Moving along with the two men, Kaede gives Bobbi a wave as the three of them depart, smiling brightly.
"Well, I'm sleeping with the goddess of the bound reeds, but you don't hear me bragging," Bobbi says. "Shhh," she says with a laugh, imitating the sound of the reeds.
Emrick gives the others in the room a smile and nod as he heads for the door with the other two. Joel, Emrick, and Kaede linger outside of Styx for a couple of moments once they've left the bar, Joel at least not bothering to shuck off any of the glitter that assaulted him a while back. There are lots of drivers for Uber out at 8:15 at night, and they find a car quickly to head on their way.
Hardy smiles and nods <We have wandered the shores, let us go> He bows his head to Bobbi with a smile heading out with Tian
Joska, apparently, spent the evening just watching the chaos unfold and sipping whiskey unmolested at the bar. As the crowd begins to thin out she turns a bit in her seat at the bar, leaning back against it and looking over the few that remain.
Bobbi takes yet another shot, and chases it with her beer. "Nobody likes Latin anymore," she mutters. Brenn looks back over at who's left at the bar and just shakes his head, "That was completely crazy. Is every night like that here?"
Joska shrugs, perhaps to the question or to Bobbi's comment. "I'm afraid that I don't speak Latin either." She has an accent, European though not a common one. Basque if you have the ear for it. "And I don't know, it seemed crazy to me as well."
Bobbi tilts her head from side to side. "Eh, maybe not that chaotic," Bobbi says. "But between Dawson and myself, this place is usually good for some excitement. The rumormill here is fun, but man does it fuck with your life." Bobbi hmms, and looks to Joska, "Not placing your accent, where are you from?" As she says this, a very light european accent can be heard in her voice. As if she normally suppreses it, but other accents bring it out of her.
Brenn nods a bit, "Good to know. And no Latin here either. It's a dead language for a reason isn't it? Not really spoken much besides ancient scholarly types and doctors?" He looks over at Joska and hmmms, "I'd say I'm not placing the accent either but then again I don't really know many accents anyways."
She looks between the two of them and smirks, giving a little shrug of her shoulders. "I am not surprised. I'm Basque." She says that with a bit of pride in her voice. "I am Joska Eneko-Bidarte. And.. I overheard several names throughout the chaos, but I feel it's polite to ask. Who am I meeting?"
"Yeah, but how else are you going to read The Golden Ass?" Bobbi asks, that light accent still in her speech. "I'm Bobbi," she says. "I was born in Norway, but really I'm a Hiiumaan-American, which makes me Swedish and Estonian, I guess. Nice to meet you."
Danny gets a text while racking up the empties for a minion to take away. He turns to Bobbi and explains that the Boss is going to be upstairs a while and that she should message him if she needs anything.
Brenn offers a nod towards Joska, "I'm Brenn. Nice to meet you both." Then he looks at Bobbi and hmmms, "I uhhh don't know what the Golden Ass is to read?"
Alejandro makes his way out of the back room, hands resting in the pockets of his slacks as he makes his way out from behind the bar.
Joska rises from her seat and nods to Brenn and Bobbi. "Nice to meet you both. Unfortunately I need to go." And she makes her way towards the door.
"It was a joke," Bobbi says. "It's a Greek text, but quite good. Magic, transformations, highly, highly sexual." Brenn ahhhhs, "The only Greek texts I learned about was the Illiad and the Odyssey. High school history and literature for you."
"All the good stories were." Alejandro says casually, not retaking his seat at the bar, but walking over towards Bobbi. "I'm going to head out, got an appointment. But stay in touch."
"Sing, O goddess, the anger of Achilles son of Peleus," Bobbi says. Then turning to Alejandro she notes, "I thought you had forgotten about me. I'll be in touch."
Brenn climbs up to his feet as well, "I should head out myself. It was good meeting you Bobbi. But I've got work in the morning and should at least get some sleep and be able to hit the shower before I go in."
"You're about as forgettable as I am." Alejandro replies, smirking before turning to walk towards the door.
Bobbi winks at Alejandro and then turns back to her beer.
