2014.07.03: PWN - LEGACY - Installment Two - Motherfuckin' Monster
Installment Two
- Joey Edwards: "What people don't understand is that I am a wrestling God. I am the best at what I do. I am a motherfuckin' monster and there ain't nobody who can try change my opinion, nobody."
The familiar voice of Joey Edwards reverberated through the small fitness gym, as the cameras faded into the scene. With Richard Steen out of sight, it was just Joey Edwards and the camera crew in the small sized room infested with gym equipment including weights, barbells, dumbbells and some others. Edwards was dressed in a blue tank top, some shorts and a pair of Jordan's to complete he's working out attire. With sweat slivering down he's forehead, and he's attention on the punching bag which hung in the corner of the room, Edwards had he's back towards the camera. Punch after punch, kick after kick, Edwards hit the bag with venom and aggression, perhaps envisioning the bag as he's opponent for that week, Mike Harrison. With one last right hook Edwards finished with a massive sigh, turning back around towards the camera. He then took off he's tank top, unveiling he's abs to the cameras - which were pretty impressive. He then reached over to he's bottle situated on a bench, and gulped down the remaining, throwing the bottle aside once he was down, before wiping he's drenched face of sweat. Running he's fingers through he's hair he then approached the bench and took a seat, burying he's head in he's hands quickly before looking back up at the camera with a look of pride.
- Joey Edwards: "At this current moment, I am the best at what I do. Period. People don't like the fact that I think that because it's self absorbing and arrogant. But I don't care about what people think. I know that at this current moment I am at the peak of my career - meaning that at this current moment I am the best wrestler on this planet."
Clearing he's throat he paused, allowing time to reevaluate what he has just said, and to contemplate what to say next. Edwards had hes hands clasped together whilst he was leaning forwards on hes seat, looking down at the ground. After a few seconds had passed, he's attention was back up at the camera and with a stern face, he continued.
- Joey Edwards: "I was taught that I can do anything I set my mind to. I was taught that from a very early age - and ever since then I have reached limits, broken records and added accomplishments, something that no one thought I could do. No one but ME! I'm the orchestrator in where I want to go in this life - you don't choose where your from but you can choose where you go from there, and I've chosen to go to the very top of this industry, that's where I've been for the last four years, the top. But no - it wasn't easy. I had to work. I had to work my freakin' ass off, to build this reputation that I have - to innovate my wrestling abilities. Hours in the gym pumping iron, hours in the ring getting better, hours watching videos of some of the best wrestlers who have ever stepped into the ring - and incorporating some of their moves into my own game. Don't get me wrong - I'm not a carbon copy, but I've had many influences in my career that have made me a better wrestler. People like AC Mack, Robert Stevens, Joey Alderson, Johnny Viper, Kyle Cross, Joey Harding.. these men, have influenced me to become better, stronger... the best!"
He cheekily plastered a smirk upon hes face before continuing.
- Joey Edwards: I'm not just the best in that ring - I'm the best when it comes to the talk. Why? Because I have the voice that can inspire a generation. I don't talk about shit like the others do. I don't talk about fairytale s and fantasies, I talk about reality! And the reality is one day we're all going to die. And before we die we've got to make sure our name isn't forgotten. We gotta leave a stamp on this planet - and embed our name in history, that's what I'm trying to do. That's what I am doing. I'm the most influential vocalist in the world because I speak the truth. People may not like me - but they can't ignore me because I'm true. I'm the spokesman of a generation. And what makes me different to the other fuckers around here - is that I'm not afraid to do what the fuck I want to do. As I stated earlier, I was taught that I can do anything. Absolutely anything. So I literally doing anything I want because no one can tell me otherwise - no high authorities, no people who have titles strapped to them, no one can tell me what to do! I'm unorthodox! I'm different and I do what I want when I want! But I'll tell you something... Scotty Addams, is a class above the other fuckers around here in Legacy Wrestling. Scotty Addams is the definition of persistence and raw talent and he showed that a fortnight ago when he stepped into the ring with the best on the planet. He showed me that he wasn't like the others around here. He showed me that he wasn't normal and because of that my respect for him has increased.
I like him a lot more than I do the other guys around here. He contradicted my expectations - don't get me wrong, I knew he was great. I knew the talent he possessed - but I never knew that he was going to be a man to push me to my limits and he done exactly that. He wasn't quite able to beat me for the victory - but I must say, he wasn't too far behind. So yeah, I won my debut match here, like I said I would. It doesn't matter how it was done - what matters is that it was done. It was predicted - and I made the right prediction. And like I said a fortnight ago - the first match is the most important match because you get the chance to show the companies audiences what you can do, what you can deliver, and what you can give to the company. A fortnight ago I injected three things to this company - number one being different.. number two being high risk fast paced wrestling and number three, I gave the fans the opportunity to watch the best wrestler on the planet."
He finished hes sentence, running hes fingers through hes dark brown hair as he remained seated looking down at the ground. Edwards was in hes element. He's voice and a camera have always worked well throughout he's career, granting him the nickname of "master of the microphone" which occurred during the early days of his career. Edwards began to unwrap the tape which was wrapped around he's right wrists and palms of hes hands, talking whilst doing do.
- Joey Edwards: "And this week I take on a débutante who goes by the name Mike Harrison. I've done my research and managed to find out a few facts about the kid - despite previously not knowing of him. I know hes from Malibu California. I know that the ladies are very fond of him - but after I'm done with him, hes pretty boy face will become disfigured to an enormous proportion. The pretty boy Mike Harrison said earlier this week we have the ability to steal the show. Oh I know that pretty boy Mike, but I don't just steal the show. I make it. And when we step into that four sided ring on July 4th I will make sure that our match - will be one to remember for the ages.
I saw your little promo and seen what you've had to say - and I've got to admit you seem pretty comfortable and content with this match up. I'm not sure if you're hiding your real emotions - but you seem pretty pleased that on July 4th you're stepping in the ring with me. That's pretty warming knowing that people actually want to face me - I'm usually in that situation when people complain that they have to face me. But not you. You've already got into my good books with that. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go easy on you. That just means I'm going to go even harder on you - to show you why people fear me. To show you why people don't want to step into the ring with me. To show you why I am the best on the planet."
Finishing hes sentence, he throws the tape on the floor and changes arm; now with he's left he begins to unwrap the wrist tape from hes wrist to the palms of hes hand. With a look of concentration on hes face, he continued.
- Joey Edwards: "So you're gonna play it dirty if you have to - I like that, I'll do the same too. In fact, I have my boys Richard Steen and Wayne Williams on ringside to make sure that I don't lose this match. But I won't lose this match. I doubt I'll need their assistance to try and get a result. I highly doubt it but it doesn't mean it won't happen. I dare you to cross the line pretty boy Mike Harrison - I dare you and see what happens. I'm a motherfuckin' monster and if I too can play that game. I too, can play dirty and do things in order to win the match. I guess that's our similarity - we will both do everything in our power to win this match, but I have the advantage with the numbers game. I have the advantage with being the best on the planet. I have the advantage because you're not going to be able to deduce what I'm going to do next - because I like to bring other elements to my game to the table. I'm not all about the high risk - technical side of wrestling, I can alternate and adapt to any style. Submission, Lucho Libre, and numerous others. I have a variety of styles in my locker and I will expose them to you on July 4th, when we meet in that ring!
The difference between you and I is that I've already built my reputation. I'm already there, at the top. People know me when I walk down the streets of California and ask for photos and autographs. Whereas yourself, I didn't know you when I found out who I was going to face on the second card. I didn't know what to expect - but after watching a few video recordings of you in action, I have a pretty good idea what to expect. You're the next step in my career here - you're the next obstacle that I will overcome to continue this streak of mine. That's what you simply are to me - and when I beat you, I'll move onto the next guy and the next guy. And the cycle will keep on going and going until I am the world heavyweight champion.
But until then I'll have to settle for the minorities - like yourself. But it's OK. It's OK because I don't care as long as I'm winning. And if I continuing winning like Charlie Sheen - then I'll find myself with that world title in no time. So pretty boy Mike, I want you to know that I'm going to kick your ass. I'll kick some life into that jaw of yours and laugh at you whilst doing so. Good luck for our encounter Harrison but just remember - luck is for losers!"
Edwards got up onto hes feet - a grin from ear to ear allowing hes teeth to glisten, with hes hands clasping together as the cameras faded to black.
