2014.06.25: PWN - LEGACY - COOKIES!
[The scene opens with Hayden Phoenix getting to last few reps in. He is wearing a pair of jogging pants and some white sneakers, but no shirt or hoody. The familiar red cord of a pair of Beats by Dre dangle as some sort of music is being played on the headphones, but the exact song or artist cannot be made out. Hayden acknowledges the camera, sets the weights back down, takes off his headphones, and takes a drink of a water bottle]
Well, well… it looks like I am facing off again Ian Windermear this week. I am being put to the challenge, or at least that is what he wants me to think. We will see. Last week, you took on Matt Ward and were screwed over… but don’t let that screw up head for our match. I saw what you had to say, and needless to say, I was left scratching my head.
[Phoenix takes another drink of his water bottle and begins to talk towards a treadmill. He than sets the water bottle into the cup holder, hits a few buttons, and begins to jog on the machine]
First off, calling me a prospect is likening me to a rookie. I am not a rookie, nor am I someone that is new to “this game” at all. Yes, this is my first match in LEGACY, while this is your second. So you have one LEGACY match on me? Wow… congrats. I have trained for years, earned various titles, and lead main events of plenty of companies where I am from. Just because I am new to these parts does not mean that I am green. And you might want to think about what you are saying before it comes out of your mouth; maybe that concussion is taking a toll on you. You state a rookie here in LEGACY, but from what I understand, AND TELL ME IF I AM WRONG; your match was on the first card for LEGACY. Right? That means it was your first match. Right? And everyone that had a match on the card, it was their first match. Right? So you are making a statement about me being a LEGACY rookie, but wasn’t everyone a LEGACY rookie before their match? You make no sense, but than again, if I was beaten to hell like you were, I might not be completely there upstairs either. Why should I try to make sense of someone who force feeds a man cookies in a wrestling match? It seems more and more like YOU are the joke of LEGACY.
[Phoenix chuckles a bit to himself, and mumbles the word “cookies” while shaking his head. He speeds up the machine a bit more as it seems like he is working on building stamina]
Do I have something to prove? Yes I do! To the fans? No. To the company? Nope. To you? Hell no. I do not need to prove myself to anyone but me… I simply want to make the first statement in a serious of statements. Proving something to myself only helps to let me know that the years that I have spent aren’t for nothing. I will show you and the rest of the roster in the back that I am someone to watch.
[Phoenix slows down the treadmill to an almost stop]
And I want to apologize in advanced that it has to be you, and you have to go 0 and 2 here in LEGACY. I get it… you were screwed… it happens. I don’t like what happened either; I prefer to be alone as well. You are pissed? I get it. I would be too. But after our match, the only one you can be pissed with is yourself. But who can blame you? Losing to someone as high caliber as myself? I wouldn’t expect anymore from you. It seems like you were dealt some challenging matches in your first two weeks, but I bet you can come around. I bet you can do better next time. Not everyone can be a Rising Star… and you just need to accept that.
[The treadmill comes to a stop as Phoenix takes another large drink from his water bottle]
And with this match, you don’t have to worry… there will be no one to interfere for me. I don’t need anyone to interfere for me, like those WASTE scum. This is a one-on-one match, and we will allow our own actions to do the speaking. There is no need for friends to get involved, or the need for any weapons. We can focus on what is going on inside of the ring, and trust me, you will need that focus. You have the experience of one match on me, good job; but I have that extra time to focus on being ready, not having the shit kicked out of me, and being one-hundred percent for our match. And what you did to Matt Ward? You mean with weapons, right? Big man, don’t be SOOooooo scary. And did you already forget what Matt Ward, and his WASTE cronies, did to you? What a chump you are. “I want to embarrass him” is something that you want to do? But wait a minute, you also said you would be “all for it” if I gave you a fight. Well which is it Ian? A fight? Or an embarrassment? I find the only embarrassment being you in this match… I thought that those in charge at LEGACY would have some better competition for me. Well, gotta start somewhere I guess, makes sense to start at the bottom with the talent that sticks to the bottom of the barrel that no one really wants.
[Phoenix grabs his headphones as he turns them back on, as music begins to blare again]
As for the fans… the fans of LEGACY….
[Phoenix slides the headphones over his ears]
They can cheer for whoever they want to cheer for, and they can boo for whoever they boo for. I am here for me, and I do not feel the need to prove anything to them. But I am pretty sure that they know who the talent is… just go back and watch the reaction I got last week…
[Phoenix walks off camera as the scene fades to black]
