Drew Stevenson, the undisputed World Champion of talking out of both sides of his mouth.

"...Now that we're off the record, whoever gets you will be lucky Alyssa..."

That was Drew Stevenson, two weeks ago, after I left Force One Wrestling but before i signed with Legacy Wrestling. That was Drew Stevenson, making that comment to me... not to anyone else who left Force One, but to me, that company's undefeated Extremist Champion. That was Drew Stevenson, safe in the assumption that we were no longer working under the same roof, telling the truth.

The truth that he knows that I'm the single most dangerous bitch on the block.

Of course, don't expect The Emerald to repeat that sentiment now. No, now that we're under the same roof again, and now that we're booked into a match that sees us competing in the company's first Main Event, Drew Stevenson wants to paint a completely different picture. But understand that it's just that... a picture. A piece of fantasy, drawn from the mind of a terrified artist.

Now, before I address Stevenson directly, let me comment on something else. You see, for weeks now, The Jokers Wild have been on somewhat of a crusade on Twitter, a crusade that began with their departure from Force One Wrestling. A crusade focused on what they view as corruption in the wrestling business today, corruption and backstage politics. They've cried out against promotions who they see as being filled with such corruption, and praised the ones that they feel are free from it. Including Legacy. And yet, here is Drew Stevenson wearing his 'connections' on his sleeve. Here is Drew Stevenson making it known to anyone that will listen that he expects his relationship with Legacy management to play in his favor... this coming from the leader of a group who have been crying for the separation of talent and management as if it were the church and the state for weeks now. Bottom line, The Jokers are all for whatever works in their favor, and they're against whatever they feel works against them. Them trying to paint themselves as lovable rogues who just happen to also be paragons for the integrity of the wrestling business? Don't fucking buy it, it's a sham.

Which brings us to Drew Stevenson and this match. More importantly, to this 'Ace' Drew claims to have up his sleeve.

Do you figure it's a secret, Drew?

No, it's no secret, at least not to anyone with half a brain. I know what's coming, and I'm sure all of the fans do as well. Drew Stevenson is planning on using those connections that he flaunts to ensure that this match will be fought under the absolute strictest of traditional rules. He'll do this because he knows that as the single most savage wrestler he's ever seen, given the sort of laxly enforced rules that I was given to wrestle under in Force One, he'd rather be locked in a cage with a rabid tiger than put into a ring with me.

Hey, I get it. I wouldn't want to have to fight a monster like me either, Drew.

But what Drew Stevenson is forgetting... or what he maybe just doesn't know... is that this monster also spent several years training at The Fear Factory. So for whatever my in-ring style may have become since I left that place, for whatever savagery I've incorporated, for whatever bloodlust I've developed, the fact is that it all started with the fundamentals for me. So while Drew thinks that extreme is my only weapon, anyone who's actually watched what I'm capable of in that ring knows that he's making a grave mistake if he truly believes it. And this is assuming that Drew even gets his wish. The fact is, the decision makers at Legacy made this match knowing perfectly well who both Drew Stevenson and Alyssa Pryde are. They know what will happen if they put the two of us in a ring, in the Main Event, and stand the fuck back. Sure, Drew will petition them to water the encounter down by putting the strictest referee they can find in there between us, but is that really what's going to put asses in seats? Is that really what the fans want to see?

Don't answer that, Drew. It's a rhetorical question.

But none of that is the picture that Drew Stevenson wants to paint publicly. No, he's going to tell you it's a sex thing. He's going to tell you that I can't beat him solely because I'm a woman. Of course, some of that might be coming from the fact that there's still a big chunk of the IWC who are claiming that Drew Stevenson ran from Force One after losing his Force One Championship because it looked like his next opponent was going to be a certain undefeated red-head. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not, but either way, it clearly is stinging Stevenson that so many fans seem to be buying into the theory.

Of course, when that line of reasoning doesn't work for him, then he's going to tell you that it's a size thing. OK. Like I've never heard that one before. It's a good argument, Drew... or at least it would be if not for the simple fact that nearly every opponent I've beaten in my career has been bigger, taller, and heavier than me. Almost every single one, and a good number of them were bigger than you, Drew. Oh, and one other thing, Stevenson... I know that you believe in your heart of hearts that you're the best wrestler in the world, but if you're going to try to convince the Legacy faithful that the bigger wrestler is always going to be the dominant one, you might want to consider the fact that there's a 425 pound giant roaming these woods, one who no doubt already has his sights on you.

So you still want to follow that line of attack, Emerald?

Here's the bottom line, Stevenson... you're right about one thing: I am gong to be in your face. You can paint whatever picture you want to for the fans, but when you thought there was a million miles between us, you were honest in your assessment of who and what I am. Now that our names are inked to the same contract? You're lying, Drew. You're lying to yourself, you're lying to the fans, you're lying to anyone who will listen. But I know the truth. I know the truth that you'll never, ever admit to me, to you, to anyone. I know that you're afraid of me, Drew. I know that despite everything that you believe you are, some of which is even true, the fact is that it's YOU who's never been in the ring with someone... with SOMETHING like me.

And you never wanted to be either.

So that's where we are Drew. I know the truth, and so do you. You dodged me once, but not this time. The match is going to happen, and it's going to happen one of two ways. Either you just accept it, let it happen, and deal with the painful result, or you can campaign to your friends in the Legacy Ivory Towers to water it down, nerf it. It makes no difference to me, because either way the outcome is going to be the same. Either way, it ends with me beating you down, Drew. Either way, it's my hand getting raised.
