Gangs on the decline? Wed Jan 03 Prospect Courier

They moved away, found peace, or were locked up or ground down.
However it happened, fewer gang members have been out on the streets in recent
months, and the decline has fueled a drop in Prospect crime rates, experts
say.
Nearly all of the nation has benefited from a drop in crime, but Prospect
County stands out. In 2010, 411 people died at the hands of others, but by
2017, the figure dropped below 200. Fueling the countywide drop, the city of
Prospect's homicide rate fell at about twice the pace of Los Angeles's,
according to FBI statistics.
Why has Prospect succeeded so strikingly? Sociologists, police officials,
social workers and criminologists haven't been able to explain, let alone
give one key reason. Instead, they point to trends and efforts on the
national and local levels: more effective policing, the absence of a drug
epidemic, stricter sentencing laws, gang intervention programs and
demographic changes.
"I don't think anybody can tell you," said Adrian Jensen, executive director of
the California Gang Investigators Association. "I think it's all these issues
working together. I think it's a change in attitude with the younger people.
They're tired of it."
Some of them are hustling in less violent businesses or moving to new markets.
Instead of dealing narcotics, they might be forging immigration papers, birth
certificates or driver's licenses, Jensen said. A sustained police crackdown
in the Prospect area also pushed many gang members to economically depressed
portions of Los Angeles or Las Vegas, said Della Potter, professor at the UCP
Coleman School of Public Affairs.
"They want to go out to the hinterlands where they won't be as impeded," Potter
said.
There, they might deal drugs or run prostitution rings from foreclosed,
abandoned homes.
"We have not solved it," Potter said. "We have moved it."

ViaCorp has a New CEO Sun Jan 14 The Economist

An article in the Business section:
It was announced this morning that Via Corp has chosen a new CEO, finally
replacing the interim head Mark Winter. Mr. Winter will remain on as Via Corp
COO, assisting new CEO Silvana Bethancourt as she settles into the role. Via
Corp has been in limbo since it's founder and first CEO Garan Graves vanished
nearly four years ago. Ms. Bethancourt first act as new CEO was to announce a
broad range of new projects for the corporation and its satellite companies.
Among the listed projects was the Go-Green rebuilding project, where
Via-Corp will be aiding in recovery from the recent storm in some of the
hardest hit and poorest section of the city. The goal is to build one new
home a month with the latest in environmentally friendly upgrades at no cost
to the homeowner. Also among the projects announced were three college
scholarships in media, science, and business.

Drive by in Chinatown Wed Jan 17 Itto

January 16th 2018, at about 1930 a drive by occurred in central
Chinatown. According to local authorities it was a hit conducted by 7 Guilao
against the 4th Province Cleavers. Seven people have been reported killed
while a hand full of others rushed to the local hospital to be treated for
gunshot wounds and other harm caused by the chaos of the drive by. As to the
reason for this sudden surge of hostility is unknown and the local
authorities are in the process of attempt to determine what brought this on.

Raid on field shack Tue Jan 23 Hamish

And now in national news...
Police have raided a funky little hut in the middle of a field in Atlanta after
reports that it was being used as a 'love getaway'. Officers were alerted to
the sight by a faded sign at the side of the road and discovered revelers
lining up outside just to 'get down'.
Inside, party goers were found hugging and kissing, dancing and loving, and
wearing next to nothing, as it was reportedly as hot as an oven inside.
It is thought that a majority of those present arrived in a twenty seat
Chrysler described as being 'as big as a whale'. The owner of the hut
declined to comment, but warned that 'fools ought to stay away'.

Protest ends in Riot Tue Jan 23 Stryfe

Tuesday nights Net Neutrality protest ended with a riot. Individuals taking
part in the protest attacked a Trump supporting counter protest. The Police
were on scene to break up both protests with tear gas before they could grow
too violent. 8 people were injured including 2 officers, 1 car was set on
fire and 15 people arrested. The group behind the event promise more events
in the future.

Peaceful Pharmaceutical Protest Thu Jan 25 Dusk

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Protests outside the White House today as a couple dozen
took to the street to complain about big pharma and the side-effects of the
medications that they prescribe too. Said one individual, Mr. Lewis, "My
pills make my mouth too dry, and make my face break out. They keep me up all
night, too!"
Able to speak with another protester, he complained his medication made
him sick. "I want my drugs not to hurt my head. They make me nervous, sleepy
during the day. Side effects include ciliary flush, and logorrhea." One
common complaint among the protesters was that their medications were simply
costing too much. We reached out to the Pharmaceutical Research and
Manufacturers of America for comment, but they had none at this time.

8 killed in Fiery Early Morning St Fri Feb 09 Prospect Courier

BREAKING NEWS:
8 people were killed in a fiery crash at Comet Street and 4th Avenue in a crash
police are saying was caused by street racing between two local gangs, and a
third vehicle driven by a family that was t-boned in their SUV.
The bodies in the cars racing have not been identified yet, due to the bodies
being charred beyond identification currently. DNA tests will be run, but
what we know so far is that one car belonged to the gang known as the
'Cleavers'. The other car was only identified as having snakes painted on the
vehicle.
The SUV involved was driven by Nathan and Geena Martin, both 32 years old, with
their 2 children, ages 1 and 3 in the middle row as passengers. They all
perished in the crash, leaving only a mangled car, and bloody toys scattered
on the street.
Based on street camera footage, the race began in front of The Crown Museum
around 2am. Within minutes at speeds estimated around 100 mph, the two cars
smashed into each other and then into the SUV.
Social media is starting up a call to crack down on Street Racing within
Prospect, and at least one government official has spoken about starting up a
taskforce to focus on just that issue. We will be following up on this in the
weeks to come.
Funeral arrangements for the Martin family will be announced soon, and a
GoFundMe Page is up already to pay for the burial costs and memorialize the
family.

In the aftermath, of the horrible tragedy that resulted in the Death of
8 individuals. A Generous Donor has stepped up to graciously off to pay all
the funeral expenses for those who perished in the horrible crash at Comet
Street and 4th Ave, when interviewed the Donor, Professor Morgan De Rossi
Batista, is quoted as saying, "It is the hope that in this time of Tragedy
for the family and their loved ones that they would not have have to worry
about planning such a painful event but rather on healing instead, as this
will haunt them for a long time, and they need to have the chance to say
goodbye." There you have it folks, at least this will ease the burden of
their family and lift a weight off their shoulders. The date of the funeral
and location is still to be determined.

UPDATE: CRASH VICTIMS IDENTIFIED Tue Feb 13 Prospect Courier

BREAKING NEWS:
The coroners office has released the names of the 4 alleged gang members from
that terrible crash that killed 8 people last Friday morning, as well as more
information on what caused the crash.
The victims in the car that was believed to be holding members of the
'Cleavers' gang, based out of Chinatown, were named as Henry Fok (18) and
Charles Heung (19). Upon questioning their friends and family, it turns out
these two were good kids that were recent drop outs from a local community
college, and were trying to get into the 'Cleavers' gang with no success.
The Forensics report on the vehicle they were driving also shows that they were
attempting to use a homebrewed type of gasoline in their vehicle. These two
young men told their families their new gasoline would make them
millionaires, and cause their vehicle to 'fly on the streets'. That homebrew
is what caused the fiery explosion when the cars crash sparked it.
The second vehicle involved, identified only with snakes painted on it, was
driven by Mario "Gizmo" Rodriguez (19) and Juan Pedro "Tank" Rivas(17). They
were both low level members of the South Side Snakes from Escondido,
California. Reports from the families say they came to Prospect looking to
find a member that defected to join the Logan Red Steps gang, known to claim
First Avenue from Comet Street to Lincoln Boulevard as their turf.
This all highlights the growing problem with gangs in the County. From
Oceanside to Escondido in particular, gang violence has been on the rise in
recent months. Just as Prospect seems to be getting a handle on it, the rest
of the county is losing control. Local youth leaders and the California
Teachers Association calls for returned attention back to county wide Gang
Prevention Programs are getting more traction, and may be on the next county
wide ballot.

Charges filed in street racing inc Tue Feb 13 Media Relations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2018
The Police have issued charges against 18-year-old Pablo Juarez. Mr. Juarez has
turned himself in to police custody in regards to the multiple fatality crash
that happened recently. He has voluntarily given a confession to his
involvement.
While we still have the case open investigating any others that were involved
in the illegal street racing, Mr. Juarez's direct involvement has been
confirmed and he will be facing multiple counts of Involuntary Manslaughter.
In recognition of his turning himself and voluntary confession the District
Attorney will not be seeking any higher charges.

Four Dead in Warehouse Inferno Fri Feb 23 Channel 8 News

Fire crews first responded to the blaze at 547 W. 9320 South about 6:30
a.m. Friday and called for more assistance when they saw the building
engulfed in flames, said Deputy Fire Chief Derek Maxfield. The press quickly
arrived upon the scene. The remains of a bankrupt business which was listed
at the address: Boost Performance Products, an automotive fuel and additives
company. Explosions sent firefighters into a defensive position while they
worked to try and bring the fire under control. News crews film the blaze but
it was such an inferno that all one could see inside was fire and smoke.
There was some spectacular footage as the warehouse collapsed into the sea.
Some of the Press are speaking to an officer.
Officer Mason Williams called in the fire. "I was on routine duty when
I saw smoke coming from the warehouse. I called in the fire and asked for
backup. I was able to enter the building as I tried to look and see if there
was anyone in the building. What I walked into was... weird. There were these
drawings of a guy wearing an animal mask, you know, like on Stargate? Had
something in his hand, looked like an eye or something, and the lower he held
his hands, the darker it got. There were four 4 burning bodies around an
altar, the bodies had weapons near them, it looked like they fought each
other to the death. As if that was not strange enough there were dead bloated
snakes. I don't know what they were fed or who they fed upon? Damn
snake-loving Satan worshippers!" It looked like the officer was going to say
more but then another officer comes in and says, "Mason you said enough
remember there is still an investigation pending." The other officer then
takes Mason away from the Press ignoring their questions.

2 Suspects Sought In Armed Robbery Sun Mar 04 10News

PROSPECT, California -- Police are seeking the public'ss help in identifying
two suspects in an armed robbery early Sunday evening at LoLo Liquor Store at
506 N. Ash St.
The two suspects, a male and a female, came into the store while it
wasn't busy at 5:43p.m. and demanded money from the cash register, according
to a Prospect police news release.
One suspect watched the door, while the other was armed with an assault
rifle-style firearm.
No one was hurt.
Anyone with information about the two suspects is asked to contact the

LEMON GROVE, California -- * Emergency services were dispatched out
early last night after a blusterous revelry turned into a public nuisance.
Multiple ambulances and paramedics were called to carry off several cases of
alleged binge drinking. Lemon Grove police were on scene to break up multiple
fights, and make several arrests ranging from vandalism, drug possession,
indecent public nudity, as well as performing sexual congress in public.
While the owners of the residence, author Dusk Ring and
multi-millionaire Harikumo Hakumei were unable to be reached for comment, the
party organizer Amber Hahn*** was detained at the scene. Charges are ranging
from disturbing the peace, multiple counts of contributing to the delinquency
of a minor, and will also include the fees for having the emergency teams out
there, said Lieutenant Scott Amos, head of Prospect County Lemon Grove
Substation; adding that this event stretched its 21 officers thin. He added
that the police department would be cooperating fully with the Prospect
County District Attorney Summer Stephan.

LEMON GROVE, California -- A woman, who deputies reportedly found
organizing the celebration with an estimated cost of $150,000 in repairs has
now received felony offenses upon the examination of video evidence and
testimony obtained shortly there after.
Amber Elizabeth Hahn, 20, of 202-8683 Via Mallorca, was arraigned seven
days ago after a disorderly college gathering that she organized. Following
the March 10 stop, Lemon Grove investigators said they were awaiting the
results from a State Lab on seized drugs, and that additional charges would
likely be forthcoming. This week, Hahn was served warrants for her arrest on
assault, two counts of fraud, kidnapping, false imprisonment, among other
charges. The warrants were taken out on March 13 and Hahn was charged
Thursday. Reports state she was taken into custody at her home. She was
placed in the Prospect County Jail under $175,000 secured bond for the new
charges.

Friday during the Salat al-maghrib, the Sunset Call to Prayer, Prospect Police
raided the Prospect Islamic Center and took everyone present into custody.
Police spokesman say over 400 individuals were taken into custody for
questioning, but were later released without charges. The police were
reportedly seeking information on a terrorist organization called "Haqim" and
trying to locate persons of interest. Islamic organizations were quick to
condemn the police action as profiling and an example of religious
intolerance.

Stunning Hahn Trial Turn Mon Apr 02 Union Tribune

PROSPECT, Californa -- New developments today in the trail of Amber Hahn. After
the end of closing remarks, and the jury being dismissed for five hours, she
was found guilty of criminal fraud, kidnapping and false imprisonment. This
bodes unwell for Brake Ferma and Benjamin Gruner, two gentlemen being charged
together as her accomplices.
Ms. Hahn consulted her attorney as he first guilty pleas came in. A
conversation ensued which brought the court to a stop. Sitting judge, the
Honorable Daniel S. Belsky inquired as to the interruption. Defense attorney
for Ms. Hahn, David M. Boertje, told the judge that they wanted to change
their plea from not guilty to not guilty for reasons of insanity.
While especially violent and high profile defendants, such as Andrea
Yates or James Holmes, lead many to view this move as a frequently used abuse
of the system and means of finding a defense where there is none, a 1991
study done by the National Institute of Mental Health found that the insanity
plea is only raised in about 1 percent of all criminal cases and of those,
only about one in four was successful.
However, considering that the Bureau of Justice Statistics found that
61 percent of state prison inmates had either a recent history or current
symptoms of mental illness, despite popular belief, the relationship between
mental health and crime suggest that more inmates could use the benefit of
treatment rather than being put behind bars.
The judge called a sidebar, which lasted several minutes. When he
returned the court back to order, Judge Belsky ruled that further proceedings
would be held until such a time that the State was able to find if Ms. Hahn
is competent to stand trial, however such thresholds are very low. We were
able to find out that the psychiatric expert the court intends on using is
Dr. Mitzi de Rosales.

PROSPECT, California -- Minutes after publishing our report on the Hahn Trial,
we got an interesting little tip from a friend. A source informed us that the
court-appointed psychiatrist, Mitzi De Rosales, has been intimately involved
with the victim, Dusk Ring.
Our source informed us that the relationship between Dr. de Rosales and
Mr. Ring was serious enough that they not only lived together for a short
time, but had discussed her having his child. This all taking place while Mr.
Ring was married.
Source indicates that they have personal, firsthand knowledge of this
relationship.
While our source, at this time, has chosen to remain unnamed, they have
assured us that this information has been passed along to the DA's office
which we have confirmed. Our source is concerned about bias in the trial. WE
wonder why she did not immediately recuse herself from the position.
We expect an investigation from the Medical Board of California, the
Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Psychology, as well as Prospect
Memorial Hospital.

everyone was aware that I have done /nothing/ to begin an investigation from
either the Medical Board, the Department of Consumer Affairs or Prospect
Memorial Hospital. The courts asked me to evaluate Ms. Hahn, and I just
recently responded. I asked them to select someone else for the court case
due to my past relationship with Mr. Ring. Some may ask, why I did not
recluse myself immediately? I am a newly licensed psychiatrist and it has
taken some time for this matter to come to my attention. My relationship with
Mr. Ring was 4 months ago. Some might say that is long enough for their not
to be a conflict of interest. I will let the judge decide that. However, I
have made my response clear that someone else should be chosen. I am very

Hahn Sentenced In Party Case Wed Apr 04 Union Tribune

PROSPECT, California -- The college student found guilty of false imprisonment,
kidnapping, assault, and criminal fraud in the matter of a party which caused
over $150,000 in damages early last month was shown leniency in a sentencing
hearing on Tuesday that could have resulted in up to 25 years in prison.
Amber Elizabeth Hahn, 20, a UCP student majoring in marine biology, was
arrested on March 14th for her actions in arranging the celebration, which
took place at the residence of an acquaintance, Dusk Ring. On Monday, the
jury found that she was guilty of criminal fraud in making use of Mr. Ring's
credit card under false pretenses, of kidnapping and false imprisonment in
preventing him from leaving his house after the party began, and of assault
in the unwanted kissing and administration of drugs to him. She was found not
guilty of another count of criminal fraud.
Ms. Hahn's attorney, David Boertjes, unexpectedly suggested that his
client may not have been in her right mind at the time, and might not have
been appropriately capable to testify. Although an unusual gambit, Judge
Daniel Belsky decided to allow a psychiatric evaluation; however, the
findings were that she was in fact entirely fit to stand trial, and the
sentencing hearing went forward as planned Tuesday afternoon.
After an emotional speech in which Ms. Hahn expressed remorse for her
actions and an understanding that they could not be erased, with a tearful
apology to Mr. Ring, who was not present at the time, she was sentenced to a
term of fifteen years, suspended on the condition that she fulfill all
requirements of probation for that period and perform seven years of
community service, to include working with a local nonprofit and speaking to
young people about issues of consent. Her youth, exemplary academic record,
and evident if belated remorse and acceptance of responsibility for her
actions were cited as factors in the decision, but Judge Belsky strongly
cautioned her that a single step out of line would mean the full weight of
the prison sentence would be brought to bear.
Mr. Boertjes expressed gratitude to the judge for his leniency, as did
the defendant herself and her parents, who reside in Massachusetts. "We feel
terrible about what Mr. Ring went through," said her mother, Margaret Hahn,
"but we're thrilled our daughter will have the opportunity to try to make
amends."

anchor says as the station cuts back from a human interest segment.
"But not everyone in Prospect has been smiling lately, for reasons making
national news. Last week's police raid of the Prospect Islamic Center, and
the detention and questioning of over 400 worshippers there about terrorism,
has drawn national attention.
"Details had been few, with the biggest news being a release from City Hall
that the officer in charge of the raid had been placed on administrative
leave pending a hearing.
"But a press conference today by the Mayor brought to light new revelations
about the situation," the anchor says as a lead-in before the TV fills with
the image of the Mayor at a podium, with a bundle of microphones in front of
him numbering over a dozen and bearing the logos of local and national news
outlets.
"The raid conducted by Prospect Police on the Prospect Islamic Center was the
result of information received by the department from a source that had been
deemed credible, of an impending attack by a new terrorist faction," the
Mayor says, speaking slowly and enunciating important words with extra
clarity for emphasis. "The officer receiving this information acted out of
haste to protect lives. Protecting our citizens is the primary duty of our
police department, and one that our officers do their utmost to uphold. But,
the methods utilized in haste in this situation were not correct, were not
part of the operating procedure of the Prospect Police Department. As we have
previously reported, the officer in question is currently suspended."
"The City offers apologies to those affected by this situation. Our cultural
diversity is one of the ways in which Prospect is a great. A blessing that
this City needs to, and will, recognize and cherish. Though the information
pointed to this particular mosque, our Muslim citizens who were at worship
did not deserve the treatment received in this raid. I am working with
members of several groups representing multiple faiths to assure their
approval of our protocols, which in this case, were not followed. Further
training in these matters for the Police Department is being mandated by
myself and City Council," the Mayor continues. He pauses a moment, glancing
around as the sound of cameras clicking and taking photos can be heard.
"The investigation into the terrorist threat turned up no credible leads.
Further investigation into the tip information which led to the raid revealed
that the tip, though it came in through the usual channels from this source,
originated elsewhere. Today, members of the Prospect Police Department raided
in La Mesa the home of an individual, Gary Thorpe. Within they found evidence
that Thorpe, upon being questioned, has fabricated the information of an
imminent attack, and had transmitted it after disguising it as coming from
the existing Department source," the Mayor says. He pauses a moment before
going on.
"Mr. Thorpe, upon being questioned, has confessed to sending the tip, and to
having become aware of the Department source that he spoofed. Further
comments on the legal case I will leave to District Attorney Adams. The
District Attorney has indicated all charges possible in this situation will

firstly to put this matter to rest that it not detract from their resources.

The University of Prospect has formed a partnership with outside
investor Dashiel James in support of their BioMedical Research Facility. The
facility has previously sought outside funding for specific projects, but
this agreement is broader in scope.
A statement from the University expresses their delight to have Mr. James
sponsoring the lab, explaining that the funding will allow the researchers
flexibility in the subjects they explore and will hopefully lead to some
exciting research that wasn't possible with narrowly defined investments that
expected very specific results.
Mr. James echoed the comments made by the University:
"I'm excited to give the brilliant women and men working in this lab the
freedom to do what they do best. This agreement is carefully drafted to
ensure that the direction the research takes stays in the hands of those who

Sources close to the negotiations agree that the lab has been left with

said to be very friendly in terms of the percentage of earnings from

These past few years, Simone Blake has been more of a fixture in the
tabloids than on the charts, but her very public struggles with drugs and
alcohol have proven to be fertile creative ground. "Siren Song," the
singer-songwriter's third album, offers a layered and eclectic meditation on
addiction and its aftermath.
With the exception of a few songs - the radio-friendly "Key to My
Heart" and "After the Storm" - she's adopted a much more complex and varied
style for this album. She's kept her trademark pellucid soprano, but her
gritty, pop-rock guitar accompaniment has been hardened and twisted to nearly
industrial noise in some places, while being outright replaced with chamber
pop violins and pianos in others. It all fits each individual song, from the
sultry acoustic guitar and heavy drums on the titular "Siren Song" to the
distorted electronica and plaintive wailing in "Oubliette," but it leaves the
album as a whole lacking some coherence. Still, for those willing to go along
with the occasional sudden shift in tone, this is one "Song" worth listening
to.

Fire Incident In Progress
Fire fighters from both CalFire and the Prospect County Fire Department are
responding to sightings of a possible forest fire south of Prospect City.
More details will be released as the situation is surveyed. The area is
a major hotspot for fire activity and fires like this are not uncommon.
However this does not lessen the danger of such a fire as the pine and sage
brush native to this region burns very quickly and naturally encourages the
spread of such fires.
The state expects a very busy fire season as things dry out further but
expects it to not be as bad as last years record setting 3400+ square miles
burned. No cause has yet to be determined for this fire and CalFire will
update as more information becomes available.

discovered and successfully extinguished a fire in apartment 316. Despite the
damage to the apartment it's occupant, a one Mallory Bor, was located,
apparently having jumped from the third floor to escape the flames. Our
sources tell us Miss Bor. Twenty-Two, a teaching assistant at the University
of Prospect at California is currently under observation at Prospect
Memorial. " On the screen an image of a bland looking young woman with
straight black hair stares blankly from a photograph.
"Rumor has it, this man... Prospect Police Department Detective
Sanders Tenenbrau is investigating the incident, along with Prospect Fire
Arson Investigator's to determine the source of the conflagration. "
Footage cuts to an overweight, tired looking man in the uniform of a
PPD patrol Sergeant. " No... There is not currently any danger to the
surrounding area. The gas and electrical situation are all sorted. At this
time... " From off camera a man speaks up. " But Sergeant Paulson, what about
the reports of there being shots fired at the scene moments after the
explosion? Or of Miss Bor being located some distance away?"
The haggered looking Sgt. Paulson, glances incredulously at the
speaker, pausing his two meaty hands come up defensively.
" Whoa. Look... Any questions you have regarding the details of the
incident can be directed to Detective Tenenbrau or Detective Mills with PFD
Arson investigation. As of this moment there is no suspected foul play, and
no crime. A lotta confusion sure, but it's just a fire. Things like this
happen all the time. No further questions. "

Man sets own house on fire! Wed Aug 01 Daraja

Hans Woods is suspected of setting fire to his own house today, the blaze
killing five guests who he invited. He managed to escape the inferno with
minor burns and after a police interrogation Woods had this to say:

me! He said that he'd turn the entire house into ice and freeze all of my
friends to death! Then he turned into a snowman and shot some white ray at
the wall! Before I knew it everything had turned into ice! I saw all of my
friends frozen in giant blocks! So I did what any sensible person would do! I
lit up all my matches and threw them around the house! Now I'm being charged
with burning my own home down and killing everyone I know! What kinda justice

wealth and social mobility. Think about it. When was the last time you made a
purchase or an impulse buy? Was it because you saw a post by a Kardashian?
No, it was your friend Julie who likes talking about the latest make up
trends or Tanesha who found that cool new weave. Influenr is a social media
focused startup catering to these young women in order to create wealth and
to monetize on increasing engagement rates and likes on various forms of
social media.
Started by a Howard and Harvard alumna, Sae Thompson, Influenr is a box

Professor Hazao Miyazaki and one of his graduate research assistants, Amanda
Pierce recently published an article "Atomic Scale Lithography - Synthesis
and Electronic Characterization of Silicon and Germanium Picowires" which
could be a new way to break through the slow down of Moore's Law in recent
years.
Thanks to nanotechnology, some transistors are smaller than a virus. These
microscopic structures contain carbon and silicon molecules aligned in
perfect fashion to help move electricity along the circuit faster.
Eventually, the temperature of the transistors makes it impossible to create
smaller circuits, because cooling the transistors takes more energy than what
passes through the transistors. Experts show that computers should reach
physical limits of Moore's law in the 2020s.
However, all that has changed and is being sped up thanks to the new
picolithography technique that has been developed in the lab. Pierce says the
following:, "We've been able to show we are no longer limited by heat sinks
at this level due to various quantum effects. The thermal conductivity of
these materials is lower than that in bulk due to effect of what we've
discovered as collective phonons which seem to limit heat transfer much like
collective electrons can be considered partially responsible for
superconductivity and charge density waves. We're really excited about what
this means for even smaller phones, faster computers, and other things like
that!"

Gruesome Murder Fri Aug 24 Daraja

Li's, a small Chinese restaraunt downtown has experienced a great tragedy.
Their registers and backroom safe looted and its' entire staff murdered,
including the owner Wu Li. His wallet was also missing from his body.
Decapitation and gunshot wounds seem to have been the causes of death for
those inside during this senseless slaughter. The murders and theft seem to
have occured after closing and there were no patrons inside at the time. The
investigation is on going. Security cameras show the faces of several Asian
males carrying katanas and firearms. Police say that their identities cannot
be determined by the footage due to blurring. More at ten!

Li's Restaraunt to remain open! Sat Aug 25 Daraja

After the gruesome murder inside of Li's Resturaunt, Lei Li, the son of Wu Li,
announced that the resturaunt would close and be turned into a Buddhist
temple in honor of his father, however today Imagawa Hinata, a local and
rather wealthy laundry mat owner, and car crushing service owner, has
announced his purchase of Li's Resturaunt from Lei Li. Imagawa stated that
"..although this great tragedy has caused much pain, and while my family
mourns with Prospect, it is with great pride and pleasure that this popular
resturaunt will remain open to the public. We hope to continue Li's heritage
of good food and great service. We shall open Sunday! Yes so soon!" Lei Li
has reportedly returned to China and did not answer requests to comment on

Those who would have adequate streetwise, medicial, police, or even criminal
contacts would hear this story:
A new drug Sanguine has hit the market. It's said to give an amazing high the
likes which haven't been felt in some time. People think that it might be
amixture of various amphetamines, and the college kids are loving it more
than "Maryland-Massachusetts."
However, there seems to be some risks. While it's not addictive, there is an
uptick in overdose cases. While they aren't lethal, the victims tend to be
found in a catatonic state. Their eyes are open, and MRI scans show higher
brainfunction, they are oddly enough nonresponsive to outside stimuli. This
is definitely baffling the medical and police community.

UC Prospect Fights Fire with Math Sun Sep 16 Richard

What if you were told there was a way to predict wildfires before they happen?
University of California Prospect's Mathematics Department has started to gain
attention for a new model based on predictive analytics. This method of
predicting the nuanced conditions that set off wildfires comes from methods
developed to study large numbers of electrons interacting with one another
using quantum mechanics. Implications are, of course, profound.
For example, with composition resource data calculating the fuel load of a
geographic area, one can use a support vector machine (SVM) to separate the
weather conditions and patterns that are most likely to cause a wildfire and
when.
The whitepaper that has developed the model is titled 'Scaled Computation of
Referential Condition Heuristics'. It has been written with a test model that
applies directly to the forested regions outside of Prospect. Direct
applications with density-functional theory (DFT) has produced favorable F1
scores for classifying events that would dictate combustion, duration, and
spread if left to burn.
"While Prospect was a convenient first test of this model, it will take time
and more research to determine its application to other wooded areas within
and even outside of California," says Len Glessler, professor and researcher.
"But this is just another example of big data analytics enabling us to answer
the questions that are difficult to quantify."
Glessler added, "The resulting predictions during acute events would enable
better planning by local municipalities and emergency services, with the
potential to reduce the fire death rate and relative risks associated."

Dumpster Fire In Slums Sat Oct 13 Epping

One of the local fringe blogs picks up an obscure story about a dumpster fire
in the Prospect slums. Fire was outside an abadoned building frequented by
drug users of a new, synthetic opioid. Normally this story would be
unremarkable except that incomplete dismemebered remaims of several people
were found chewed upon and then charred from the fire. The mainstream press
has dismissed the story as false and it is not widely circulated. Police and
fire confirm that there was a fire but denied finding any remains.

Sources say that Courtyard by Comet, located in one of the finer areas
of town has come under investigation recently. Specifically, a source close
to the city, says someone is checking up on the neighborhood and how well
maintained the properties in the area of Comet St and Date St. are kept.
Questions being asked in the inquiry are targeting how well the residents and
residence, are being treated and how happy they are with current ownership
and management. When the last time remodeling to the Building was done, when
the infrastructure was updated, if there have been any health department
