He started life in central Europe centuries ago, and watched history go by. Most of the time content to let people do what they were going to do around him, sometimes joining in when he got bored but much of the time content to just keep to himself in the wilds. As with all things though, he eventually had to change. The wildlands he preferred grew scarcer and humans got bolder. Eventually he abandoned his homelands for the New World where there were still swaths of untamed land. But that only lasted so long as well. For the moment, he's decided to come out of seclusion and experience life among the humans for a while. After all, it's something to do and humans do make good booze.
