The Tulun Atoll. With a maximum elevation of 1.5 meters above sea level, much of these islands are the first to see encroaching water while the sea level rises. With high tide and strong winds coming together, the seawall fails, already proving be to of no defense.
The island is being eaten. A road that went all around the island but now, is broken. Soon, these native inhabitants will lose their land, praying we don’t lose our homes. Every year, for the last five, fishermen have had to move their shacks back from the beach a few meters.
