- The camarilla vampires are invited to view paintings of the players in this theatre of the macabre, later identified as the Malkavian Gregory Falco and the mortal, Sarah.
- Investigations lead to Cactus Jacks Saloon. Sarah is being comforted over a breakup with Falco by another woman she calls, 'Shell.'
- Silvana sets up surveillance on Sarah's house. Shell and Sarah leave in a mini-cooper. Silvana's private eye tries to give chase but he is spotted. A chase ensues and Hifumi involves the police. The praxis drop back to let the law presumably do its job.
- The car crashes through a hot dog stand and into a storefront. Some perceptive kindred notice a bat rising up through the downtown night. The bat flies to the rooftop club of the Belvedere Casino. JD gives chase.
- JD's sins are laid bare by the power of Shell's blood. He can only tremble in fear as she makes her escape.
- Sarah is taken to Prospect Memorial with head trauma and multiple lacerations.
