Russell, the character, is shy and gay. What does this mean? He's not looking for a hook up. He's not out there trying to hit on every guy. He is curious but will often wait until the other guy makes the first move. For him, it probably means that he loses out on a lot of first dates but it's usually safer and better for him in the long run.
What does this mean? If your character is interested in Russell, you might have to hit him over the head with a clue-by-four for him to realize it.
