UC Prospect - Joey is a grad student, studying advanced linguistics.
Languages - Joey knows seventeen of them and is always on the lookout to either a) get conversational practice with native speaker of one of the languages she already knows or b) find a native speaker of a language she doesn't yet know so that she can start learning a new one. She's a bit of a linguistics prodigy and loves everything about learning new languages or learning new things about languages she already knows.
Music - Ever hear of the Lost and Profound? It's a UCP-based alt-indie rock band that's seen a few different line-up changes over the years but has been playing at coffee houses, student parties and other local events for the past half-decade. Mostly a cover band, Joey often sings lead vocals and has been the lead guitar player for the life of the band.
Social Consciousness - Even before she attended college, Joey was pretty well in tune with the socially outcast and marginalized. Since she's been attending UCP, she's grown even more acutely aware of the plight of those on the fringes of society. While she's not obnoxious about it, she's pretty passionate about social justice and can often be seen donating her time to aligned causes around campus.
