  • Sumiyoshi-rengo - The Sumiyoshi-rengo is the second largest Yakuza family, with 20,000 members divided into 277 clans. The Sumiyoshi-kai, as it is sometimes called, is a confederation of smaller Yakuza groups. Its current oyabun is Shigeo Nishiguchi. Structurally, Sumiyoshi-kai differs from its principal rival, the Yamaguchi-gumi, in that it functions like a federation. The chain of command is more lax, and although Shigeo Nishiguchi is always the supreme oyabun, its leadership is distributed among several other people.

  • Kuei-Jin - Like many others, Hinata died. He was gunned down while doing a drug drop fifteen years ago in Tokyo. He ended up in The Wicked City, and spent what felt like an eternity there. Finally, he fought his way out through cunning and violence, and returned to his body. In the real world he'd only been dead for 48 hours, and his body hadn't been recovered yet. He healed up, and murdered his killers. He then began working his way up the Sumiyoshi ladder, while also indulging himself as a Devil Tiger, and seeking enlightenment. Finally, he has come to America.

  • Crime - As a Yakuza underboss, Hinata is heavily involved in crime. He has no issues making alliances and deals with local gangs. Human trafficking, drugs, prostitution, muscling in on territory. All of it.

  • Life - As he is heavily Yang imbalanced, and his Dharma tells him, he revels in the fires of passion. Sex, violence, drug use. You name it, and he revels in it. He hasn't quite gained enough true understanding of his path to move from monster to devil just yet.
