Level 1

Obsidian Shard

(I don't know what level this item is!)

This eons old piece of obsidian is polished to the highest shine. Its black surface gleams like a black sun. The stone has been expertly crafted into a clenched fist with a bit of wrist jutting out of it. A small ball of the stone rests on the base of the wrists and attaches the fist to an intricate series of woven beads creating a necklace.

OOC Note: This fetish will bind to the person who possesses it. If you take it off and leave it behind, it will find you. It will show up in your shoe, in your pocket, around your wrist, etc. If you attempt to destroy it, it will reform, and it will find you. In order to be rid of it, you must give it to another character that willingly accepts it.

Effects: +1 Wits, +1 Stamina, schizophrenic outbursts

Level 2

Pipes of the Otherworld

Gnosis 5

This fetish appears as a very fine set of black bagpipes of the Highland variety, crafted of human skin that has been dyed black, shaped, and sewn into shape. The skin is lightly branded with the Black Spiral tribal glyph, as well as that of mysticism, spirit, death, bane, and other assorted, appropriate markings and designs. It's unusually mournful song pulls at the spirit - literally.

When successfully activated, every two successes to a Charisma+Performance vs 7 roll subtracts one from the difficulty of Mystic Rituals; the difficulty rating for Rituals of Death (such as a Rite for the Departed) is decreased by one for every success.

The Hogling elemental bound within causes the pipes to smoke slightly as they're blown.

Taboo: Due to the historical connection to the instrument (and the pickiness of spirits), Hamish must channel his Scottish roots and adhere to a strict dress code: A kilt of appropriately patterned northern Scot tartan must be worn with appropriate accouterments. As well, woad blue body paint in appropriate mystic warrior design must be painted over his body, making ritual preparation take a fair amount of time and use odd foreign ingredients that aren't easy to acquire. Failure to dress appropriately for the occasion causes the Fetish to remain inactive, performing as simple bagpipes and nothing more.

(based on Fianna pg 78)

Level 3

Minion Pod: Mael Muire

(+equip 708350, created per +note/read Marcus/Starting_Rituals)

A vision of beauty and grace, Mael Muire is slim, strong, and possessed of a dancer's delicacy and subtly solid strength. Fire red hair and with deep blue eyes set in a pale, heart shaped face, Mael Muire's expression is vapid and pleasant, a lovely smile without emotion and eyes that see blankly.

Native language is Pictish rather than English.

Attributes: Str 2, Dex 4, Sta 3, Cha 1, Man 1, App 4, Per 1, Int 1, Wit 2

Abilities: Dance 2, Melee 2, Crafts 3

Health levels 7, No wound penalties apply.

The Devouring Charm

Gnosis 7

This item is an open faced pocket watch, whose casing has been crafted out of stainless steel taken from a slaughterhouse dismantling table. However, the watch has no face or inner workings. Instead, under the glass, something that looks like flesh can be seen. Small tentacles, smooth and the color of fresh pink meat, ring the mass, while a circle of needle-like teeth form what appears to be a vaguely lamprey-like maw. Fortunately, it all seems to be stationary, rather than wriggling the way a living creature might.

Bound within is a bane of gluttony, one of Relshab's brood.

Visual Aid: Relshabfetish.jpg

System: To activate this fetish, one must hold the watch case in their palm. Doing so allows the user to eat anything smaller than their head: severed body parts, steel, toxic waste, anything. (Book of the Wyrm, 2nd Ed, pg 104.

Sun Whip

Gnosis 7

This exotic fetish takes the form of a bullwhip with threads of gold that have been smelted over balefire wound into the coil's core, weighted with a gold nugget at the tip. The human-leather strips making up the whip's length wrap around the bone handle, with the Black Spiral Dancer tribe glyph branded into the grip's braiding. A Furmling spirit bound into the whip completes the weapon. When activated, the weapon glows slightly balefire green, and upon making contact with a vampire bursts into green hued flame. Against vampires, the weapon does Strength+4 aggravated damage and may incite Fox Frenzy. Against other foes, the whip does Strength +1 lethal damage. The difficulty to strike properly is 7.

Taboo: Must sing the Indiana Jones theme music while whipping and burning people with the fetish, for the entertainment of the bound Furmling.

Level 4

Really Memorable Cutlery

Gnosis 6

An ornate set of cutlery (knife and fork) made of human bone and steel, expertly carved and polished, and carried in a padded hard shell case for protection. When activated and used to ritualistically consume the raw brain of a very recently deceased person (within two days of death), the player may make a roll of Intelligence+Occult vs 9 to receive memories of the victim. The number of successes determines how complete the memory transference is: one indicates that the eater gains the dead one's most recent memories, while five confers total life memories. No Gifts or Rites can be learned this way, however access to passwords, hidden locations, occult knowledge and other odd Abilities may be considered. A botch hurls the eater into the thrall of hunger and the need to consume. The victim will be damaged and obvious signs of cannibalism are unavoidable, as is the complete destruction and consumption of the brain with no thought left to learning anything from it. Further, failing to consume the memories on a botch leads to a fight for sanity (such as it is), resulting in the loss of half the eater's willpower followed by a day of -1 Intelligence due to mind numbing hallucinations and attempting to maintain Hamish's memories as whole and dominant. A particularly bad botch may result in a derangement or a loss of personal memories, at the ST's discretion.

Must be used daily for the purposes of eating (anything) to appease the hunger spirit within.

As stated, can not be used to gain mystic knowledge like gifts, rites, or other powers, also useless in gaining anything physical. Should be limited to knowledge about the victim, with the possibility of bringing a reasonable knowledge or lore's cost down by half. Should be a tool for character flavor that's used off camera most often, to assist in a Wyrm plot, or to help with those hard to reach high dots in some things.

This fetish is largely based on the Rite of Dormant Wisdom, Silent Strider tribe book page 50, or page 79 of the revised tribe book.

Level 5

Ocean's Peace Tattoo

Gnosis (I don't know!)

A corrupt Water elemental is bound into a stylized shark tattoo done in tribal fashion. The tattoo fetish created is 'always active' and emulates the Rokea gift 'Ocean's Peace'.

It grants its user a +30 to initiative, an effect which is considered always on once the fetish has been attuned. As an added bonus, the fetish makes exerting one's force of will less difficult. During a scene, the user can choose to make a willpower roll (vs 7), thereafter allowing the WP points spent for an extra successes on any roll to be regained if the roll wouldn't have failed or botched without the spend. This lasts until the scene is over.
