Are you a regular of Mr. Kim's noodle truck? Would you be 'known' to him? Perhaps he helped you with some fatherly wisdom or guidance? Think of Mr. Kim in the same way "Boothby" was seen in the Star Trek series. A trusted confident, companion, mentor, etc.
