Thingmoot: A viking insitution for discussion of social issues. Every free citizen, regardless of social class or legal standing, is entitled to have their say at a Thing Moot. There are normally games and contests, and an occasional market or show of sport. This year, Conn has suggested people sign up to a Grand Melee. Prizes to be determined. If people sign up to that there'll be rolls in advance to determine who wins. We can run gambling around it.
After the first, every alternating month the chairperson is to be voted upon by the assembled playerbase. The candidates every even month are explicitly from non titled characters. The baron and higher titled players choose who represens the nobles when they host.
Commoner voting is done via a set of vote boxes. The vote boxes are @created objects that the staff can come check out via the notes system. This establishes a trust sytem that players will not use multiple accounts to vote. It is *expected* that players vote only once. Each character can only vote once. You cannot vote in each of the ballot boxes.
The event will be held within a Dream Craft created Bespoke meeting ground which exists beyond any specific part of Concordia but is Concordant. There is a stone at the centre with the power to enact Protocol. Wits + kenning vs 6 will tell the player that the Protocol for this place is as follows.
- Violence and threats are to be kept to the duelling rings
- All gathered have a right to be here or the Dreaming would not allow them to be here
- All gathered will speak without giving threat or intentional insult to any present
