Sayuri was born in the 1920s. She was betrothed to be married and her parents were very proud of her. 1941 brought war and Sayuri's village was bombed. Her family and her fiancee's family were killed. Her mother lingered in agony for six hours. Sayuri was not physically harmed but still carries the scar. She took refuge with her uncle but he sold her for two horses and five goats. She was forced to learn the ways of the Geisha.
Pride damaged but not broken, Sayuri mastered the art of deception. She became an informant for the Japanese government, ferreting out military secrets from American Officers behind closed doors. Her efforts were very successful until the atom bomb wiped out Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Unfortunately, one of the men she tricked was Evander McDouglass of Clan Tremere. After discovering that he'd been duped, Evander decided to embrace her rather than kill.
Before he ran off to completely join the Sabbat, Evander taught Sayuri the Path of Power and the Inner Voice. Sayuri was begrudgingly accepted into the Camarilla and the Tremere Clan after her sires death at her hand. She consented to her blood being taken as was proper and ingratiated herself to the clan as a whole by aggressively pursuing their interests in the Far East. By the 1960's, Sayuri grew tired of her enemies in Japan and struck out for California. Setting herself up as a Madame in Chi-Town, she joined the Camarilla of San Francisco. By the present date, she has risen to the rank of Apprentice of the 5th Circle. Eager to shed the influence of Lord Honorious of San Francisco, she comes to Prospect with designs on building her own Chantry as the Camarilla presence here is scarcely a year old.
