Summary

Formally contracted by the Duchy of Goldengate, the Privateers receive their first writ - the hunting and sinking of a 'rebel' ship "The Invictus". Hitting the seas, the crew decides that it is best to first find information regarding their quarry. Sailing to Fairytales, a port of call on the island of Oahu, the Privateers learn that the Invictus is the famed flagship of the Commoner fleet during the Accordance War commanded by none other than Accordance War veteran Goggen Ironfoot following the death of his 'missus', Ronnie while fishing. She was shot down by a patrol skiff. Realizing that the Journeyman may not be equipped to handle a warship the likes of the Invictus, the crew decide to instead parlay with Ironfoot instead. Meanwhile a few of the crew caught sight of a unique ship, with a unique captain - the Forsworn Yraltien ap Ailil and his warship that chimerically looks like a black dragon, the Shadowfyre.

Learning that the Invictus is destroying ships that cross from the Dreaming into the Autumn World, the Journeyman travels to the known trods in the central Pacific. Wick, the Helmsman, decides to search the Phoenix Islands, a few days south of Hawaii. Upon reaching the Trod their guess was correct, as the Invictus receeded from it's illusion as an island mass and bore down on the Journeyman. Waving the white flag, the Invictus boarded the Journeyman for parylay and terms.

The crew discussed the cause for Goggen's assault and sought to make him cease his assault. Desiring to end the terror of the Invictus, they learn that all Goggen seeks is justice, justice for Ronnie that he claims has been denied to him by 'the False David' and the Governor of Hawaii - who dismissed his petition entirely. The crew also learned that it was the Shadowfyre that shot down Ronnie! With several questions, especially why someone would protect a Forsworn and Oathbreaker, the crew make a pledge to Goggen to find justice for his wife. Timand taking the Oath of Accepted Burden, the Journeyman begins making for Hawa'ii once more to see whether or not justice can be had through traditional...or nefarious means.

Attending the Court of Royal Governor Menehiron ap Fiona, the Royal Court of Hawaii is steeped in intrigue, throwing the crew off guard as they begin gathering information by discussing and negotiating with the courtiers in attendance. During Announcements, Roger Almsley, revealed as one of Queen Aeron of Pacifica Parliamentary Representatives, presents the Seward Acts - a series of Parliamentary proposals that pushes the boundaries of Concordia west to Guam. This outrages the Menehune in residence who leave in protest while simultaneously calling the banners to rally around Duke Topaz ap Gwydion, Concordia's ruler in Mexico.
