Santiago Alvarez/Introduction
Born in Madrid, Spain, Santiago was raised in a cultured environment within an old noble family in a long line of Dukes. Cousin both the 22nd Duke of Medina Sidonia, and cousin to the current Duke of Alba, Don Santiago Gabriel Álvarez de Toledo y Martínez de Irujo is a blue blood among blue bloods. Yet, not himself holding any notable titles beyond 'Don' or lord. As a young man, his parents were killed in Argentina during the natural gas crisis with Chile while on a trip for business interests for his 'uncle'. He was ransomed back to his family but his sister, Isabella Rosalia (fondly called Carina) was not. Santiago went back to Spain. Not long after his uncle Don José sent him onto Harvard Law School where Santiago excelled. He went on to pass the California Bar Exam and become a practicing Attorney in Business Law.
After a number of notable court cases that Santiago won, and earned prestige among his colleagues, he was perhaps the youngest Attorney to ever be appointed to the California State Bar Board of Trustees to the Judicial Council. While he is yet new to the position, he also works for his uncle in Global business interests with most of his activities focused on California. His uncle Don José meanwhile has been slowly shifting his business concerns from natural gas, oil, and coal to ecologically friendlier energy development.
