Introduction
Born in South Korea near the outskirts of Daejeon, Hyo was born to her father and a fox mother who died shortly after her birth. Though her brother was already under the care of a family, their father instructed him to watch for her first change and she was placed in the midst of a new litter. One thing that stuck out in the beginning was how quiet she was compared to her new brothers and sisters. She did not yelp for milk or whine when they tugged on her ears, but relied completely on non-vocal communication. It was a condition that she did not grow out of after she changed, and it nearly created a rift between her and her brother who tried to help her adjust to a more balanced way of life among the humans in their Hitogata forms. She tried to learn these ways, but was often teased by other youths when she forgot some nuances like how to walk upright on two feet or to cover her body in clothes. Eventually she was able to learn a new way of life, and decided to try to help the world be a better place no matter which form she was in. She studied and managed to test into a university that allowed her to get started on a medical degree. Tired of the isolation and hearing rumors, her brother decided that it would be best that they move to America and settle down in Prospect, California. So, five years into her degree, she transferred her work over and moved to the new land with her brother. Here she is settling in and is always eager to meet new friends and help the people around her.
Hooks
- Relatively Young - Spending the first stages of her life as a fox led to her growing to maturity faster than most. She goes by an assumed age and birthday in order to better fit in with the people around her, despite it not being entirely accurate. It's still close enough that it's basically the age she should be both physically and mentally!
- Mute - Hyo cannot speak due to a physical-defect that would need surgical intervention to correct. She has recently learned sign language and carries around a notebook and pen at all times to try to get around this.
- Good Listener - Being unable to speak has allowed her to appreciate listening to the other half of the conversation in more depth, and she tries to use it to help her be the kind of person that others know that they can trust and confide in.
- Doctor In Training- She's currently in the midst of finishing up classes so that she can one day open her own general practice or work under someone else's practice. She not only relies on modern technique, but has many alternative remedies that she's picked up from her home. If you're hurt, she's more than happy to do what she can to help you.
- Instincts - Though she's much more tolerable than she used to be, she used to hate a lot about her human form. She still has a difficult time feeling good about herself when she's in it, and often spends time day dreaming about running around in the kyubi form that she's most used to. If you're a shifter and you're looking for someone to run with, she's always open to trying to keep up!
