=Can Kinfolk Gain Renown? Yes.
Kinfolk don't get a lot of renown for their deeds, but that's why they're called 'unsung heroes'. As Metis are often the beasts of burden, so Kinfolk are the bridges often taken for granted. As a kinfolk to a Shifter-Breed, you may gain renown. This bestows upon you no power what so ever beyond acting as a resume for Shifters in need, or for bragging rights.
- If your Faction (found at the top of your sheet) is Gaian, renown may be added to your sheet. The Gaian way of life is the way you follow, the religious and spiritual beliefs of your Shifter-Breed are yours as well, and the 'spiritual rumor mill' that is Renown is what you place your stock in.
- If your Faction is Wyrm, the exact same thing applies to you as well.
- If your Faction is anything other than Gaian or Wyrm (such as Traditions in the case of Kinmagi), then renown will not be added to your sheet, and will instead go to a holder-bit. Your character follows a path other than that of Gaia or the Wyrm, has religious and spiritual beliefs that differ from the Shifter way, and the opinions of the spirits or status among werecreatures aren't what concern you most. However as a kinfolk, it may still be important to your Shifter-Breed that your deeds are recognized, if not rewarded. Your participation in Shifter plots will be noted on a holder-bit, to be accessed by tale-singers of your type and announced at Moots, Taghairms, etc.
