Information

xxxxxLocated at D Street and Canary out on the Harbor, Joe's has become a fast and sure thing for people who want a place to sit and relax with a beer and a few slices of pizza. It's a relaxed atmosphere, where the blue collar worker can come in and not worry about how they look, and know that they won't be turned away, or get an odd look for a bit of grime on their clothing, or dirt under their nails.

In-House Micros
  • Dark Cloud: This ale is a very dark amber in color. The aroma of caramel, fruits and cloves may invite one to contemplate the creamy head of this "Dubbel" or double ale. The ale is a malty brew, top-fermented and bottle aged to rapturous perfection. This ale will pair well with barbecue, meat stews or a nice thick steak. For dessert, it'll go well with milk chocolate or chocolate bread pudding.
  • Bite Me: Styled after a West Coast-style IPA with an up-front intense hop flavor and aroma. Amarillo and Centennial hops give the brew a rich and resinous flavor of citrus and spice. This bright pale ale has a malt sweetness that will give way to a pleasant bitter. It pairs well with Mexican or spicy Szechwan Chinese food. It is also a nice accompaniment for cheeses with strong flavors, like sharp cheddar or goat cheese.
  • Bean There: This dark ale is brewed with generous amounts of pale, caramel, and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. Whole, natural vanilla beans are added during the aging process. This combination provides a rich body and color with chocolate, vanilla and toffee-like flavor.
  • Kiss of Red: This selection is a lager brewed with pilsner and wheat malts and Vanguard hops. Real local strawberry juice is added after filtration resulting in a crisp lager with a sweet strawberry flavor, aroma and haze. It is wonderful with desserts or lighter fare such as salads and pastas. Fresh cheeses such as Burrata, chèvre, Crescenza, mozzarella or Teleme pair well with it.
  • The Horseman's Ale: (Limited to October/November) This drink is a deceptively smooth imperial pumpkin ale in a rich brilliant golden orange-amber color. This seasonal 'feast' begins with a grain menu comprised of Two-row Pale, Dark Munich, Red Wheat and Carapils malts joined with pumpkin in the mash. Sterling, Willamette and Crystal hops are added to the boil to balance the malt sweetness. Finally, for the delectable pumpkin pie taste and aroma, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and brown sugar are added, creating a rich, full-bodied fall drinking experience and characteristics of a familiar fall comfort food.
