Every time I look in the mirror All these lines on my face getting clearer The past is gone It went by, like dusk to dawn Isn't that the way Everybody's got their dues in life to pay

"Like legend and myth, magic fades when it is unused -- hence all the old tales of elfin kingdoms moving further and further away from our world, or that magical beings require our faith, our belief in their existence, to survive. That is a lie. All they require is our recognition."

"Think of every fairy-tale villainess you've ever heard of. Think of the wicked witches, the evil queens, the mad enchantresses. Think of the alluring sirens, the hungry ogresses, the savage she-beasts. Think of them and remember that somewhere, sometime, they've all been real. Mab gave them lessons."

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?” Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. “I suppose a magician might,” he admitted, “but a gentleman never would."

"Mortals. I envy you. You think you can change things. Stop the universe. Undo what was done long before you came along. You are such beautiful creatures."

"Never trust a demon. He has a hundred motives for anything he does ... Ninety-nine of them, at least, are malevolent."

"There was this about vampires : they could never look scruffy. Instead, they were... what was the word... deshabille. It meant untidy, but with bags and bags of style."

"...the last official act of the British monarchy was when Queen Victoria refused to sign a law that made same-sex acts illegal. It would have made me think more highly of her, except the reason she objected was because she didn’t believe women would do anything like that. Parliament rewrote the law so it was specific to men, and she signed it. A tribute to enlightenment, Queen Victoria was not. Neither, as I have observed before, are werewolf packs."

"Must be a rule in the ghost handbook—if in danger of evaporating, make sure you’re in the middle of a dire pronouncement."

The Faerie
Vassal
xxxxxArtegal is a vassal of House Gwydion, born from a tryst between King Arthur Pendragon's bastard, Tom a'Lincoln and Caelia, the Faerie Queene, Sidhe of House Gwydion. As Sidhe kinain, he's walked the middle ground between the Mundane and the Dreaming for a millenia and a half, blessed/cursed with immortality by virtue of his mother's blood and ancient faerie magicks. As such, he's lived through the times before the Shattering, then through the Interregnum and the Resurgence (Changelings with Remembrance should feel free to mail/page if interested in ginning up backstory) and now into the Autumn. He serves House Gwydion faithfully and competently, assisting in their affairs both of the Dream and the Mundane.
xxxxxDamsel in distress needs rescuing from dastardly Dauntain? He's your man. Dragon (or other pesky chimera) needs slaying? This is your guy. Need a Champion to stand for you in a Trial by Combat where cold iron might treacherously come into play? He's the one you call. The forces of Banality giving you trouble? Look no further. Assuming that the cause is just, of course. He IS Gwydion, after all.

The Mundane
Not Much Going On ... Yet!
xxxxxHe's spent an equal time in the Dreaming and the Mundane over the course of his long life, with his time in the Mundane taking place at key moments in history on this or that quest for reasons that remain largely mysterious even to him, though they are known to his House and liege. The most recent time of note that he was seen walking the Mundane was during World War II, where he was deployed to defend Albion's interests during the war and fight against the supernatural soldiers that Hitler's Third Reich had assembled. After the war he was much less visible, and seen only intermittently and sporadically here and there in this or that part of the world. Why has he reappeared now, and in Prospect of all places? Only time will tell.
