Elder Expectations

Garan is an elder of the vampire community and as such he does expect the proper respect. It’s not him being an arrogant prick it is him being a vampire elder. As an elder he feels it is his job to guide those younger than his self, and to prevent breaches of the masquerade. This being said Garan only has two laws he cares about, the first is the masquerade. If you’re going to flaunt your powers, talk about vampires or use very specific vampire only lexicon in public then yes he is going to climb your ass. He feels it not only puts your life at risk, but his and all of kindred societies. If there is a second offense then it will be the last offense you are capable of committing. If you have to ask if it is a breach then it probably is. The second rule he cares about is domain. Its simple if you go into another mans house you don’t act like you own it, you don’t disrespect it, and you let him know you there by announcing yourself.

Neonates and Childer Garan does have two other rules just for you that have nothing to do with being an elder. He just feels they are common sense rules and if he catches you breaking them he has very, VERY little sympathy for you. The first is that you do not fuck with the Garou and the second is you do not fuck with Mages. The first reason is it can start a war and it puts his life at risk as well as the rest of kindred society. The second reason is because well it is stupid. This includes revealing your nature, sharing lore, trying to blood bond, or creating ghouls. Yes you can have friends that are Mages and Garou, you can have casual encounters and you can even get freaky between the sheets he does not care. If you reveal your blood to those not of the blood you forfeit all rights to that blood. If one starts shit just walk away! If they wont let it go find an elder and let them handle it.

Allot of people don’t like the elder system but it is a very basic part of the vampire game. There is a hierarchy pecking order based on age and generation. Elders expect Neonates and Childer to show them the same respect they where expected to show when they where a childer. On the same token Neonates expect the same out of Childer. To put it simply A neonate disrespecting an elder is allot like a teenager mouthing off to an adult. A childer mouthing off to a neonate is like a four year old that is allowed to cuss at adults. To have someone beneath your rank mouth off is deeply insulting in vampire society. Now elders mouthing off to elders, well then you settle it like adults and handle it yourselves. If you cant handle it without it coming to blood then the Prince (or regent) and/or Ductus should step in. If you’re a Neonate or Childer and you mouth off to an elder don’t be all butt hurt when the elder slaps you around.

Childer 1-50 years old

Neonate 100 to 200 years old

Elder 200 to 600 years old

For the record Garan has been a vampire well for over 700 years.
