A "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" type of organization, this loose grouping of supernatural individuals has existed throughout the ages, dedicated to the sole purpose of defending the Earth from otherworldly dangers - it has generally included representatives from the Earth, the Dreaming, the Umbra, and the Shadowlands. When the impossible is everywhere and the very fabric of reality is threatened by insanity, the Confederates rise to the occasion! Want to join up? We may have a position for you!
Anyone who joins the group, or participates in its activities is subject to an impossibly strong Geas which prevents members from sharing details of the group's adventures AND/OR details learned about each other in the context of the CotCM interactions with individuals outside the group. This is to prevent Lore Bleed, etc, which may get members in trouble with their respective sphere/faction heads if it were to happen. What happens in the CotCM stays WITHIN the CotCM. If this isn't something you feel that you can "scout's honor" uphold, then the CotCM is probably not the place for you. The CotCM toil in obscurity, except for blurry bits of their activities that end up leaking into the collective unconscious and published in a satirical comic book put out by an independent comic book company that has dismally low readership and is largely relegated to ashcan editions sold at small town comic book conventions, etc.
