Alrighty. I will set the scene, but to reiterate: You guys are Strike Force 0 (the nickname). You guys are going to Deepmist to kill some bastard who calls himself the Shade. *sets*" Everyone meets at Hog's Ruin. Several boats are lying in wait, with about 20 Kithain of various shapes and sizes. Some look seasoned, a lot look fresh when it comes to this sort of thing. Conrad reminds people of the lowdown: Deepmist, from scouts, have claimed the island to be empty. However, it is confirmed that there are several passages found on Deepmist that gives way to tunnels going down under the island. Intelligence says that the Shade holds up shop there. Find the way in, and kill the bastard with extreme prejudice. The main group goes one way, while our intrepid heroes and heroines go another. As one approaches Lodestone one can already tell something is happening. The echoes of crashing waves and horrendous howls from creatures long forgotten echo on the horizon. Lights from canonfire briefly illuminate the sky, while the rowboats occupied by our group slip right under everyone's radar. Arriving at Deepmist, one can feel a subtle pulse of power but not of glamour. Something dark is tasted in the air, something foul. If Dreams could curdle, it gives you a sense this would be it's scent. However, information so far is accurate: Deepmist is desolate without life. No birds, no wandering knights, nothing. It's too still for the sounds echoing throughout the islands. Far too still. Caerwyn narrowed his eyes, stepping along quietly his hands would go down to loosen his blades in their scabbards, though he didn't draw them yet. Usually he was the quiet one and he didn't like the feeling he was getting so far Sterling stands at the bow of one of the boats, his booted foot up on the keel like the Fiona version of Captain Morgan. Except he's not smiling. No, the burly sidhe is scowling darkly. His hand rests on the hilt of his sword as he looks towards the island. "Gods beneath us," he growls softly. "Do you all feel that? This island is evil." Erin quietly looks around and gives a little shiver at the not familier feel. She looks a bit worried but she's here and plans to help. She makes that everying is on correctly though she did funny enough bring a tiara with her though she has that hidden within her cloak. Karth had been staying near the back, no glory grabbing on this trip. He's been quiet, just that new Sidhe in the green and silver outfit. He awaits the others to exit the boats, stepping out behind them himself with his hand on his hilt. He goes about unstrapping it as well, before pulling out the silver looking blade. Surely there's not something just around the corner, but you can never tell. Slaine looks out to the island, while she had not seen it, she could only imagine from her own reports. Or at least being in the dark and only aware of the Shade's own evil nature. It made her uneasy and squirm. Wisdom or ill judgement did she have in bringing Havrak here.. But her hand rests on the bone dragon's side, the borrowed bow slung over her back with the pack on Havrak holding her dross and other necessary things for bunks. The sight of Redcap moving into battle is enough to chill even a Fiona's bones. In the dark it is even worse with his hood pulled up and the flash of white showing an eerily wide maw of the creature. An almost Cheshire like grin and shock of brilliant scarlet that can be seen under the hood of his armor. Locke holds the wickedly curved scythe of his in one hand, droplets of frost falling and freezing upon the ground from it's tip now and again. Leather gloves creak with the flexing of his fist and he takes in an exhilarated breath before letting it out, "Wonderful." He rumbles out softly the deep throaty sound of his voice chiming out, "It shall be a wonderful evening." He says with a soft chuckle the Warlord not upset about the darkness around it all, feeding into the Redcap's base nature. This is what he lives for. The Seelie of his kind are not know for manners or pomp and circumstance but their skills are hunters and slayers of darkness that threaten the Kithian. They are the Badasses called such by their Unseelie brothers and left alone by them just the same. ANYWAY Entering Deepmist Isle one can tell (what the description says). However unlike normal, one can tell that recent activity has occurred. Dozens...or is that hundreds of footprints litter the dirt roads the weave through deepmist like veins. Sand People are of course known to walk erratically to hide their numbers after all. The former vestiages of life are seen, yet seem to have not been touched in decades: Foundations of homes have been battered by Firchlis winds turning them into mockeries of what they once were, hearths for Kithain who at some point in time called this place home. Stone paths line the dirt roads as if to give the island a comely, welcomeing feel now are overgrown and have lost that warm splendor of atmosphere. Sounds still loom in the distance of battle, yet nothing occurs here. Maybe of all things, it is because Sterling has seen far too much, and knows when something far ahead may pass normal eyes and being trained to see it? One could never say. Yet all of them see the same: One such dilapidated abode is not like the others. In the far distance, what looked to be a cottage is occupied by three shapes in it's perimeter. None can truly discern much of the shadows, being too far away to be scrutinized for features, but Sterling noticed it is not just three...but another is almost inperceptible, silent on what he could guess is the house's 'roof'. <OOC> Conrad says, "He can join." "Softly, comrades," he says quietly, hunkering down. "Look yonder. That hut has occupants." He glances over his shoulder. "They could be sentries. We'll need to make sure they cannot raise the alarm." Erin though she makes sure many bodies are between her can't help but duck down a bit at what she spots and when Sterling only confirms what she thought she saw well at least it wasn't her imagination good to know. Caerwyn frowns faintly, he shifts his weight and keeps to the shadows, though he wore chain it was masterfully crafted and worn properly, he would look for a route that would take him around the hut to the sides or back Karth pauses, still near the rear as he crouches down and simply creeps forward for now, keeping back and away from the hut as he begins to circle it, but keeping within direct sight of most of the others. Sword still drawn, he awaits for the more seasoned warriors to attack, or do whatever it is they're going to do. This isn't his normal combat style, but he can adapt, and knows how to follow, obviously. Slaine reaches to grip Havrak's side, looking out at the distance, her eyes slipping over to Locke briefly, then to her comrades. She dares not speak, but does realize that they are still very much out in open. As she considers this, she moves to reach into her bag, to start pulling out a few items, a stone blade, a small dross mushroom, a quill and a black cloth. The stone blade is drawn across her hand, cutting to draw her blood. As she stands near Havrak she dips her quill into her wound making ink and writing names, descriptions of those she does not know by name mentioning kith and what they carry, all upon the dragon's skull. No words spoken in this time. When she is finished, she whispers against Havrak's skull, placing the mushroom between his horns, followed by the black cloth over it which is suddenly smashed and crushed upon the beast with a burst of glamour. The massive Troll drops to a knee and stays way to the back of the group, looking ahead in the direction Lord Sterling indicates. His cold eyes squint at the figures that are pointed out, not able to make much of them from this distance. The head of his maul rests against the ground as he crouches. The Redcap's smile never seems to even waver from his lips shining out brilliantly white, flat teeth in the dark of his hood. The tip of his scythe almost scraping along the ground, bobbing just off of it as he wanders toward that hut. He doesn't seem to slow though he does not speed up moving at a slow rolling pace. It is slow enough for others to move into possession though it makes the Redcap's motives apparent. He's going to find out what those shadows are and if they are enemies he's going to eliminate them with extreme prejudice. The Dan, it seems, is with them. Caerwyn and Karth successfully flank the house. One individual is behind the house (making the current total five), longsword in hand and light armor who is a Redcap. Save the Redcap has two-thirds of his flesh gone revealing his jawbone and skull along with rotting flesh. Locke, who is being more intimidating and simply walking toward them sees similar. A Sluagh and a Satyr...or at least what used to be a Sluagh and a Satyr are also decomposed. Their skin is flesh white, patches of skin decayed and rotten off the body. All wandering in idle perception, save when they see Locke. The fight ended just as it started. Caerwyn rushed in first, followed by Karsh and then Sterling with the finishing blow. Locke had a reason to be casual, he simply beheaded the two with two swipes of the sword. The island is quiet again, and Sterling distinctly notices a lack of a person on the roof. <OOC> Conrad says, "Sycthe, rather than sword. Eep." Sterling charges into the fray, the legendary fearlessness of his House carrying him aloft. He steps to one side as Karth lays into the Deadcap, his own sword whistling as he finishes the job. "Hah! Here's for the Silver Lion!" he growls, flinging the gore from his blade with a snap of his wrist. It's then that he notices that the roof is no longer occupied, and his grin of triumph becomes a scowl. "Ohh, Juno's -cunt-!" he snarls. "Comrades, I think we may have a problem!" <OOC> Conrad says, "Juno's Cunt...that's almost as good as 'holy traffic safety, Batman!'" "The king and his men..." Locke starts to chant out in that low rumbling voice of his the scythe rising the flicker of front glinting in the dim light of the night as he bends to the side dipping out of the way of the attack from the undead satyr. The weapon wips around and removes the head of the creature, "stole the queen from her bed." Another quick pair of steps and the Redcap moves to the side the curved blade slicing through the air again removing the head of the Sluagh in turn, "And bound her in her bones." He flicks the weapon grime from his weapon falling upon the ground as he continues to wonder toward the house as his voice rumbles out in that humming wandering toward the door he means to put his boot to it and bash it in as the Warlord continues on his path. The hulking form of Beast shifting about in the darkness giving the fight to the Rider. Slaine turns her eyes to Sterling after having watched the dead ones laid out, "What problem?" She asks softly, then is drawing out an arrow, knocking it. Caerwyn flicks his blades clean, smoothly sliding them back into the scabbards at his waist "Someone probably went running." he speaks quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. His eyes flicker over towards that icy shade of blue and he stalks forward, pressing on. Ernst's thundering charge stops abruptly, the huge figure's momentum allowing him to easily leap over the headless remains of the creatures that used to be in the Warlord's path, squeezing into the doorway behind him as the Redcap's boot knocks it down. "Is there more?" He shouts, his voice carrying easily in Sterling's direction, before helping Locke scout out the house. There isn't really much Erin can do other than hide and keep her eyes open so she does just that trying to make sure nothing sneaks up on them hopefully, no one said she was actually good at that. She does kind of grimace at the slaughter but well it's too late now to change her mind so she better just suck it up. Karth lays into the deadcap, whom is from their efforts now actually dead. He slides the blade to the side, glancing to the older man for a moment, then up to the roof in pondering. He's terrible at noticing things, that much is obvious. He doesn't bother to flick his blade, instead starting to pace around the building a little further out to glance about. Sterling shakes his head. "The one on the roof. Is no longer upon said roof. I've got a half-shilling that says he's off warning the Shade that we've arrived. We needs must make haste!" Locke is the first to enter, and being the first to enter he is the first to review the scene. It is an empty cottage. The wildness of the Dreaming has frayed any trappings or items to nothingness, leaving the cottage an empty and uncomfortable place. If this was a home, it certainly isn't now. Half of the roof is gone, so moonlight floods the cottage with an ambient, dull blue light. The fireplace is empty, half of the chimney been withered away with two rooms, probably what was once bedrooms. However there is nothing in there now, just empty rooms that Locke can see from the entrance. Karth does a roundabout. If what Sterling says is true then his escape was not by foot, as Karth sees nothing in the proximity. A low rolling chuckle comes from him when he hears them calling about another that is in the area and Locke's voice rises, "Little pig, little pig let me in." The Redcap's voice drawls out as he looks around letting the tip of his scythe slowly scrape across the floor boards cutting into it with ease as he wanders along through the house looking to see if it is still inside. His head popping into the rooms as he looks around for anything useful he doesn't seem worried about haste instead making sure they don't get caught in two fronts. If nothing is found he'll just look to Ernst and tells him from beneath his cowl, "Oh I'm sure the hunt shall continue." Before slipping out from the home to look for the trail of the third to lead them to the Shade. Locke says his words to Ernst, however he doesn't come out of the hut. Ernst looks around the cottage with Locke for a while, letting his hammer rest against the floor while his other hand reaches up to scratch at his head. Seems like he was expecting to find something in this place. Looking to Locke, he'd bob his horned head slowly, "Aye, it must. At this point, I imagine they will be ready for our little hunt.. But I imagine that does not bother you, Warlord." His bearded features decorate themselves with a grin, heavy bootsteps taking him towards the back of the house to poke his head through one of the windows, "And which way now?" He asks, to the sidhe out there. Karth continues his trek around the building, looking back to those assembled and shaking his head. "I see no signs of the fleeing one." he points out, keeping that bloodied sword dangling as he looks around a little more. "It hasn't been long, if he were traveling on foot we'd likely have seen him by now." he goes on to point out. Sterling frowns, looking around. "We must find one of the passages that leads to the underground tunnels," he says. "But... if Shade knows we are coming, then doubtless the bounder will have traps in place. Not to mention, he would be able to flee us, and we'd never be any the wiser." He looks around. "I am a doctor, not a soldier," he says. "I have not the head for tactics." THUMP. OOF! "FUCKING SON OF A WHORE!" Someone is doing a Nocker impression in that house. "Dickhead little shits I'm going to enjoy biting off each fucking finger joint by joint." Rages a rather unhappy Redcap from what sounds like a little ways away all of a sudden. "You want a fucking entrances well I found it." Locke belts back up, apparently part of that floor was less floor and more illusion for it sounds like he's coming through the floor boards. Rolling his neck it cracks a couple times as he gathers himself up to his feet, snatching up his weapen the head of the scythe pokes up through the floor boards like a periscope, "Hey, Stretch, come step in this hole and help others down." He calls over toward Ernst before the scythe vanishes back under the floor boards again. <OOC> Conrad says, "Poor whores' children. They're so defamed in this day an age...*sigh*" <OOC> Locke says, "Indeed" Ernst listens to a deluge of swearing, and when he catches sight of the scythe, he wonders for a moment if the Warlord can see through his scythe as it pokes from the floorboards. Nonetheless, it seems like they found the path forwards. Poking his head back out the window, he shouts, "In here!" Before thumping back over to the hole, using a boot to break it open a bit wider. Once he's sure Locke is no longer directly under, he hops down. Landing with a loud thud, he waits underneath, ready to help his more vertically challenged brethren lower themselves into the entrance. Caerwyn shifts on his heel stalking his way back into the house. Nodding once to Ernst he hops down into the hole, trusting in his boon companion to catch or redirect him properly "Fun times hmm? Tunnel rats." Well, if anyone didn't know that they were there it is even more confirmed by all of the shouting. Slaine makes her way with Havrak, her hands upon the ribs of his side, her eyes flit around, then back to the place where everyone is heading. Turning to the beast, she murmurs, "Havrak, stay, guard.. " There is a nervousness about the satyr as she now sees to taking the pack that is tucked in the saddle bag of the bone dragon. Karth turns once the talking has come along of moving into the home, which he does so. Following behind those that go within and finding the hole to descend. Once done, he would go about taking a look around. Hopefully it's not dark down here... Traps wait in dark places, after all. Sterling lumbers over as well. "Anything broken, Warlord?" he calls down as he makes to descend into the hole as well. He gestures to Erin. "You first, sweetest," he says. "I'll not have you up here alone undefended." He waits for Erin to be safely deposited before he heads down himself. Erin stops hiding and follows with Slaine towards where everyone is heading. She looks towards the others "I can fucking take point and go up ahead.. They won't fucking see me comin" she says softly. As everyone joins Locke and Ernst down in the depths, the floor as Locke reveals is an illusion with no footing. The tunnel is of course not part of the cottage, all stone and rock and earth. "Would you all like a torch?" he asks idly, sword still in hand, as he motions towards the pitch blackness. Slaine makes her way down slowly, taking up the rear, her bow ready, arrow knocked but not drawn as she keeps it pointed low to the ground. Her eyes taking a few moments to adjust to the darkness. Caerwyn moves forward, stumbling a bit as he feels the tingling of darkness and touch off something in his head, his eyes glaze over and flicker from the yellow to blue and settle firmly into the cold icy glow. He stands up a bit straighter and turns his gaze to the others "Right than lads. We've walked this path, lets see it to it's end." those swords flew from their scabbards and he stalked forward once again sure of his purpose. "Broderick! Bring up the torch" he spoke to Ernst... Who the hell was Broderick? Sterling goes to stand with Caerwyn, sword held at the ready. "Blacker than a Dauntain's heart down here," he grumbles. "Light would indeed be welcome. They already know we're here. No sense in giving them the advantage, nay?" Of course there is that look of unsureness from Erin and as people go on in she goes in before Sterling sticking close to the group no need to wonder off and explore now. She keeps her cloak close around her as she makes no noise as she walks Ernst takes a deep breath as he steps further into the tunnel, speaking in a low voice. "This place reeks of Nightmare." He says with a snarl, heavy bootsteps stopping as he peers into the further blackness ahead. "The powers here are not to be taken lightly, many of my Kith have been lost in the struggle against it. In my Homeland, the fight against this Nightmare has been the source of my kith's greatest glories, and our most horrific losses." He looks towards Caerwyn, a touch of surprise coming to him at the Scathach's words. It seems like the Troll has seen this sort of behavior before from him. "Aye. That would be prudent." He says to him, and then raises his man-sized hammer, which, promptly, begins to glow. A chant in Old Norse rumbles from the Troll, echoing in the tunnel, and then, the glow explodes into a brilliant flame. Ernst loses one Magical Essence Locke takes a deep breath and lets it out in a shuddering breath before looking back over to Sterling, "You are just digging on the simalies." He offers back toward the Sidhe with a quirk of the brow, "And the only thing about to be broken is every joint of the asshole who put a fucking illusion over a hole." The Redcap says before he's moving back down the passage again. The Warlord doesn't break stride as he continues along from where he was further down the tunnel he doesn't slow for the torch as it's brought up letting the glow of it light up around him, casting his shadow out before his form the scythe held in his hands with a smile on his lips. "They know we're coming now though. Let's have us a little fun." The Warlord says with a chuckle and he looks back over his shoulder to Ernst, "Know another good War Chants?" The glow of Ernsts hammer is enough to give a small semblence of light to were they are. They are at a small nitche in a decent sized chamber. No trappings, no symbols, nothing. An echo of something comes from deep within the recesses of the tunnels, the echos making it impossible to determine how to get there. There are three passageways that seem to stretch further into the darkness beyond the light provided: One to the West, North and East. Sterling listens to Ernst's warning, his grip tightening on his sword. "Well," he says. "Let us make sure that -this- is a great glory and not a horrific loss, eh?" he says. "Defeat is not an option here. We -shall- prove the victors!" A glances to Locke, grinning a bit. "It is not oft that I relish the thought of combat," he says. "But tonight, I make an exception. Let us find ourselves a villain, shall we?" He considers the three passageways, frowning. "Piss and blood! Which way to take?" There is that i'm not liking this kind of look on Erin's face as she sticks close and keeping her gaze open for anything that well really she isn't familier with or maybe she's hoping something doesn't come out and get her. She tries not to crowd though but sometimes she gets really close to Caerwyn and Sterling and then kind of backs off when she catches herself doing that. Caerwyn snorts faintly as he looks over the passages "Such paltry deceptions." he shakes his head sadly and stalks forward, before turning his head, those glowing icy eyes settling on Slaine "Belinda girl. What do the augeries say? Where shall we take this fight next?" <OOC> Conrad says, "...and this is why Sidhe botches of remembrance kicks a** :D :D :D" Karth slowly moves forward now that the way is lit, staying a bit off from the group, if for nothing more than to be more easily defensible. It's only a few feet away, not far enough to be on his own at least. "The wise men always say to take the left path." Karth muses towards them, although not exactly looking their direction. "Not my place to choose, mind. Nor theirs, I would assume." he says with a light snort, still taking up the role of just that one Daireann guy. "Many." Is Ernst's response to Locke, holding his hammer with a bit more care as the head blazes in an inferno. He takes a breath as he eyes the three passages, his features hardening. The echoes from within are not reassuring. "It is as if we are passing into Hel." He breathes, looking from one passage to the next. "It seems we will be forced to choose blindly, unless one of you has some sort of method where that will not be the case?" He turns at the sound of Sir Caerwyn's words, looking from him to Slaine. "Belinda." He repeats, with a touch of amusement. Slaine does at times look back as she is in the rear, not able to see much more than the backs of those who are ahead. At times she does slow to look at the walls, the ground. Lifting her attention up as she hears the odd question posed. Blinking she can only think and assume he talks to her. So.. The satyr of course, does what she would, settle her weapons down to 'consult the bones' or whatever it is she has to cast her bunk. Locke asks before looking back toward Caerwyn then toward the other Sidhe again his his hand comes up to rub his eyes for a moment, "Gramps needs a touch of help." He TRIES to keep the amusement out of his voice, he does, that's why the hand is over his face 'rubbing his eyes' before letting out a slow breath. Once more in control before he looks toward the pathes and he stabs the base point of his scythe into the ground and he looks to Slaine, "What do you say, my Seer? Do you have a way for us to travel or shall I get to hunt all the tunnels until I've quenched my desire for battle?" Not the more cautious and self controlled grump they all knew. He grins, narrowing his eyes as he looks over each of the tunnels, waiting for the response from the bones. Slaine focuses upon her bones in the low light, her face pales, settling back, "The shadow brings ill black as pitch, crawling vileness in the flesh, lurking in a film that one cannot be offered relief. The eye burns and he looks upward, turned to the north.. The north the south his back.. Speak, and whisper Oh fells, dread fells, awake..." He has no idea what most of these peoples names even are, as he's only just met them. Instead he turns and peers into the darkness of each of the passageways, walking a slow half circle before them, almost pacing in a way. He's still quiet, the blood on the sword having dried at this point, marring its otherwise bright sheen of silver. Ernst's worry is more for Slaine than Caerwyn for the moment, as the latter at least recognizes friend from foe in his current state. As the satyr consults her bones, the Troll's brow creases as her condition seems to worsen and her body shudders. "Will she be all right?" He asks, in a low voice as he turns to the rest of the group. "I am not an expert on the Seer's gifts, but she seems unwell." Sterling shakes his head at Caerwyn. "Nay, Ser. I'm not Baeddan. It's me. Lord Sterling. Your friend." He scratches the back of his head. "I'm afraid I'm not well-versed in psychological issues," he says to Locke. Slaine's prophecy has him frowning. "That... does not sound at all pleasant," he says. Seeing her shiver makes him frown even more darkly. "Miss Slaine?" he asks, taking a step in her direction. "Are you quite all right, comrade?" Erin has been ever so quiet not saying much but definately listening as Sterling speaks to Caerwyn she watches and tilts her head one way then the other before silently making her way over to Caerwyn and reaching out and taking his hand at first and begins to tug at him "Caerwyn.. Hey Caerwyn.." Locke watches Sterling move over to the other and he lets that go but it's the Satyr that causes him to frown and he pulls away headin over beside side. He leans down and thumps his forehead against her own. It isn't the gentlest of actions but also it's slamming her into the ground, "Look at me, Seer." He tells her flatly, there is no question in those words waiting to hold that eye contact with her, "Shadows crawl and shadows creep but not even the darkest night can shut out the snow. Even in the pitchest of terrors the snow gleams like a second sun under the rays of the moon. We are frost and we are strength. Follow me little goat and we shall lay waste to all who would cast out works into nightmare." He tells her there is a growing fire in his voice before he buts her head with a light tap before pushing up straightening and he looks down the tunnels, "North it is. Who ever kills the fucker is buying the rounds too!" He chimes out before the Warlord moves and slams the butt spike of his weapon into the ground grinning backa t the others, "Who else wants some more blood this evening?" Caerwyn chuckles deeply, patting Sterling again "Baeddan such the joker. Fall in son and we'll see this nightmare to an end." he nods over to Locke "The challenge is accepted Dafydd! Rounds back at the table when we are done!" he would step towards the northern pass though be tugged at by Erin "Carys what is it girl?" he would continue on his way stalking into the dark "Speak as we move, we must not tarry." Slaine was lost in her stare down at the bones.. Deep inside that creepy feeling lingers, that presence that makes her skin crawl... Another shudder. No answers are given to questions posed, still locked on the bones, that is until there is a redcap in her face, it takes a few moments to lift her gaze up at him, breathing slowly, there is another shiver, slowly she breathes as she hears his orders. Fear gripping her? Quite possibly, but she does finally shake out of it with the butt to her head, getting up once more onto her cloven feet, items gathered up. . A glance is given over to Slaine but Sterling and Locke have that covered it seems as Caerwyn continues to stalk she tries to dig her heels into the dirt and pull him as hard as she possibly can "No wait look at me Caerwyn.." she tries to tug and pull as much as she can though i'm sure that her light weight is not a big deal but hey she is trying. <OOC> Erin says, "me" Ernst seems pleased that Locke snapped Slaine out of her reverie, though Caerwyn suddenly striding down one of the passages gives the Troll some pause. "It seems a path has been chosen for us. Or should I go grab him?" He says, looking from the north passage back to the others. "I will not be able to catch him if he gets too excited and beging sprinting." He holds his massive hammer head-up, almost like a makeshift torch as flames lick the edges of the dark around them. Sterling looks up from Slaine to Caerwyn. "Damn it!" he growls. "Master Heidrek, yes please. We must stay together! And we have -got- to get him back in his right mind!" He calls down the hallway that Caerwyn is following. "Ser -Caerwyn-! We must not go that way! The divination said -this- way! Erin, try to hold him, help is coming!" Ernst nods firmly, slamming the haft of his hammer into the ground to make it a makeshift lamp-post, cracking the dirt around it. And then he turns, thumping down the passageway after Caerwyn and attempting to scoop the smaller sidhe up into his arms. "Hold, Sir Caerwyn!" He shouts as his long legs jog him over to where the Scathach is striding. "Woa there Gramps, what what you're calling people." Locke quips back toward Caerwyn his eyes narrowing as he looks over the Sidhe, "Don't make me recalibrate your dome." He quips back toward her with a bob of the head though as the others go rushing off after Caerwyn he shakes his head, "Grab him before I have to stop him." He says with a shake of the head before his eyes settle upon Karth and the Redcap points a finger at him, "You. What's your name?" He asks him his brow narrowed as he thinks about it, "You any good and stopping them all peaceful like?" He asks curiously seems he's looking for someone to knock down the Sidhe and he grumps before muttering, "Should have brought Raven for this." Karth pauses at the north passage, glancing to the others for a moment in apparent thought. He's not a strong man, best not to stand in the Caerywn's way. "He seems of a proper mind for combat, at least." he points out to them as he turns his gaze across the corridor. "So long as he can tell friend from foe, this should likely await the end of our duties." says one of the few dissenting opinions in the room, then there's the redcap pointing at him. "I'm afraid not, I must say." he responds to Locke. <OOC> Erin says, "let poor Caerwyn pose :)" <OOC> Conrad says, "Well...I will say, the world -would- stand still when Caerwyn gained a subtle sense of humor :)" Caerwyn shifts his weight, glancing over his shoulder as he is tugged "Belinda said...." and he's cut off as Enrst gives him the troll bear hug "Broderick! What is this?! Unhand me!" he settles his gaze over and locks eyes with Erin "Fine is this what you desire lass?" his eyes were glazed over beneath that icy glow, but he seemed to be in control of all his faculties Erin was ready to keep tugging and even jumping onto Caerwyn's back if she had too though now that the big guy has him she frowns "wake the fuck up Caerwyn.. I know your fucking in there wake the fuck up.. your scaring me!" yeah cuz you know the whole scaring the girl thing might work right.. She bites her lip "Don't make me have to fucking kick you where it will hurt" <OOC> Karth adds his name. Dammit, missed that. Karth says "Karth Drathos ap Direann" in response to Locke's question, at long last. Sterling frowns a bit as he peers after Caerwyn, Erin, and Ernst. "I could attempt a Heather Balm," he says. "But that typically heals hurts of the body. I know not how it would handle an injured mind. But still... I am fresh out of ideas. But we needs must think of something soon. Every moment gives Shade more time to prepare to resist us. And I would have that blackguard -dealt- with." Caerwyn grunts shifting his weight inside of the bear hug "Damnit Broderick! This is no time for manly affection! Save your feelings for after the battle is done!" He didn't remember Broderick being that damn strong! His gaze falls over to Sterling "Damnit where do you think I was going? That nightmare will end on my blade!" "That way is a trap, Sir." He says, hoisting the sidhe like he was a sack of feathers. "You must weather the indignity of this. I will submit myself for reprimand when we reach the Keep once the battle is done. But I shall tell our Lord that I do this in the interest of your well-being." He says, happily getting into character in order to make things easier for Caerwyn, until someone fixes his head in any case. He attempts to move back to the others, his hammer making a fine beacon in the dark. Don't they say pinch me when your dreaming she reaches over and as hard as she can where she can find flesh of course because with all that armor on might not be so easy she pinches him hard. Slaine turns her eyes over to Karth as he makes his introduction, staring upon the Sidhe for a long, long moment. She does allow her eyes to stray only to fall upon Caerwyn as he continues to speak to them as if to others. She knows there is madness there, so many to focus on him, the satyr's eyes start to wander and look upon the area. They are in unfamiliar territory, there is distraction going on within, it puts the satyr on edge.. Leaving her to think the Shade is doing this. <OOC> Caerwyn says, "ok since I don't want to side track us more. I honestly thought she said north. Caerwyn is in control of himself, just point him in the right direction :P" Locke frown as he gets the words from Karth and he lets out a grunt before shaking his head, "I see. No one ever is. Going to make a freaking stunner when I'm done here for just this moment." He grumbles before looking back to Slaine for a moment checking upon her a couple long moments then tells her, "Stay safe, my seer." His head nods toward her before the Redcap takes off down the tunnel wandering toward the Shade with a grin tugging at his lips as he thinks about it moving off without slowing. The Warlord is on the hunt again letting Ernst drag the Sidhe along like a sack of potatos for it. Karth sighs, still peering back at the group as he steps back and peers into Caerwyns face for a moment, then turns around. "He's fine!" he asserts again. "Just let him finish out with his dream, lest he think you the enemy and attack." he states as he turns to follow Locke down the passageway. "We must advance before they are on us. There is no point in retreating over the simple matter of a dreaming Sidhe." He flicks that sword, then he's off, hopefully the light's coming too. <OOC> Sterling gives the 15 minute warning. :( Sterling makes sure Caerwyn is seen to, and that the others are rejoining the party before he falls into step behind Locke. Sticking close to Slaine. "Fear not, Miss Slaine. I will keep you safe," he says softly to her. Ernst sets Caerwyn back down on his feet, his huge arm pointing in the direction of Locke. "Look, our comrade leads the charge. Go after him, Sir Caerwyn, and I shall be just behind, bringing the torch with me." He figures the sidhe can make it on his own from here, plucking his massive warhammer from the ground and gripping it in both hands, the flames casting a large troll-shaped shadow as he stalks down the passageway, jogging a bit to catch up with Locke, making sure the others are behind. <OOC> Conrad ....swipes a room from the map, for the interest of time. Whisles as he does it and poses. Caerwyn actually growls "Well I'm glad atleast you're finally seeing some sense Broderick." he was in a killing mood and those bastard swords went away. He unslung the greatsword from over his shoulder, his touch causing icy blue runes to light up along the blade. With another snarl of command the blade bursts into flames and he goes charging down the hall, singing an ancient war chant. Erin stops bothering Caerwyn when Karth says that he should be fine. She is falling a bit behind as everyone heads off ready for battle. Leaving the area behind them, the heroes and heroine continue down the corridor suggested by Slaine. The corridor is winding, leading deep into what one might assume the mountains under the island. However, they are eventually greeted with another chamber and one far more wanting of their interest. The cavern is wide yet not very tall. Ernst is a mere two feet from the ceiling and water drips, pours and otherwise floods the chamber with water that flows through cracks down into the unknown. Still no sigils or banners or any of the like. The 'Shade', or whatever his actual name is, looks completely and utterly human save for distinct features that marks him as a creature of Dream. He is gaunt in appearance, average in build and is dressed in a deep brown robe. Eyes of cold nothingness greet any who look at them and a face that looks like it hasn't cracked a smile since the dawn of time. Flanking him are two massive individuals, the size of Ernst and adorned with armor that appears to have been shaped out of bone, each weilding Troll-length longswords that seem to sheen with an everescent casade of Dark Glamour and are already primed, ready and loaded for battle. Behind the Shade is a stone pillar of bone, to which it seems the seething power of that sickening Glamour spawns from. <OOC> Sterling urghs. Bedtime for me. Work in the morning. :( <OOC> Sterling says, "How close are we to being done?" <OOC> Conrad says, "This is the final combat. Locke grins and he lets the tip of his scythe drag across the ground with a soft slow scratch as his head tilts to the side, "Evening gents." He calls out into the room as his tongue slips over his lips, "You must be the Shade and here Beast is going to be upset that he missed out on the fun. Can't ya'll set up some place a Drake can have some fun?" He asks him with a deep laugh running through him as the Redcap spins the scythe up into the ready position. He doesn't stop though his slow steps taking him forward letting the others catch anything that might dart from the sides he is trying to keep the attention of the big baddies in the center as best he can. Sterling steps out into the chamber, his scowl turning dark and stormy as he sees the perversion of the Glamour of this place. Turning his gaze upon the Shade, he lifts his sword and levels it at the figure. "-You-," he growls, the anger of the sidhe giving strength to his words. "Your reign of terror is at an -end-, Shade! Behold, we bring your doom!" Karth falls into step behind and to the side of the redcap, allowing him to 'lead the charge' as it were. He's obviously better with that thing than he is with his blade, it only makes sense. He does bring his blade up, keeping a watch to Locke's left side as he advances. Clearly, he's been taught some form of formations at some point. Ahh, Daireann. Ernst grimaces at the dark figure before him. before sinking to a knee, his hammer set down in front of his form. His deep voice echoes from his immediate vicinity as he begins a low chant, every few syllables sending the pommel of his warhammer thudding against the low ground, energy writhing across his form. "Across the Gjallarbru with my song." He says, in ancient Norse as his song picks up, more, rhythmic thudding sounding out from him as he casts his bunk. The Shade is what made the fight difficult, which unfortunately for him every single person was gunning for him. Launching off with a Holly Strike that sliced into Locke's body, lascerations festering to necrotic wounds as Sterling joined the Redcap in bringing damnation upon the Adhene. Meanwhile, Caerwyn, Ernst and Karsh fought the fell knights summoned to defend the Shade. Erin meanwhile slipped into the shadows to skulk past the fighting aiming for the pillar behind the Shade. Soon however, Ernst was too much the Troll. Maybe it was the remembrance that lit a fire in his eyes, bringing his hammer down to strike each Deathknight to ashes under his strength, followed by a near death blow to the Shade himself, retaliating by unleashing his strength against the heroes! Everyone looked as if their flesh had been ripped from their bones, the wounds gaping so wide, and so deep that the wounds would seem to take months to heal. Locke almost looked as if he was blasted away, but the brilliance of Glamour found in his armor gave it's life back to the wearer keeping him anchored in this world. Thus, it all ended when Locke diced the Shade to ribbons, fading away into the deepest recesses of the Dreaming back where such foul nightmares belong. Immediately after that, the determination of one small Kinain came to light. It would have been more courageous, boastable, and impressive if it happened in the middle of combat...but alas, our heroes are too epic. She had snuck behind the pillar and gave it a push, the malfescence of that sickening Glamour lashing at her body like condemned tendrils seeking to bring her into a terror beyond imagination. It was for not, the pillar cascaded into a million pieces on the ground, a deafening *boom* echoed throughout what seemed to be miles across that sent Erin flying back ten feet and colliding into the ground, unconscious. As seconds tick by the Dark Glamour that riddled the tunnels begins to lessen, like a morning dew leaving come afternoon's sun until it is just a cave that has nothing impressive in it. <OOC> Sterling says, "Nice. :)" <OOC> Sterling says, "So who's actually down and needing healing?" <OOC> Caerwyn is at 1 <OOC> Karth is down, but will not need healing. <OOC> Locke says, "Basically everyone." <OOC> Sterling would pick up a dot of Scene, but that tends to dilute things. x.x Karth takes the blow, gasping in pain as he drops to the ground next to the deathknight. His armor luckily takes most of the blow, his flesh peeling and ripping with that dark energy. He's not unconscious, but his wounds do almost immediately begin to mend at a slow pace in his laying position on the ground, causing the Sidhe to push his arm under him and raise his head to peer about the battlefield. Heidrek the Greybeard was born for battle, his affinity for it did not dissipate with age. Massive legs sending him thundering across the field, towards his foes. He leaps forward as one Death Knight strikes at Caerwyn. He is unable to stop the blow to the sidhe, but like a meteor his hammer comes down and caves in the chest of the first knight, a snarl coming from the Troll as he wrenches his flaming free of the creature's mangled chestplate. He kicks the unmoving body aside to meet the second knight coming from him. The sword bites through Ernst's fur and chain battle gear, the Troll letting out a defiant growl in response, hefting his hammer and sending a horizontal swing to the knight's head. A flash of fiery fury, and the head flew from his shoulders like a golf-ball, the armored skull crashing into the wall and cracking it before thudding uselessly to the ground. The body drooped and fell soon after, but Ernst was already gone. Nothing that large should move so quickly, and there he is upon the Shade. Icy breath leaves the troll's nostrils as he brings his hammer down, mangling the Shade's legs, but not enough. The blast was unexpected, cracks appearing over the primeval warrior's flesh as a snarl of pain uttered. Despite this, he remains standing, watching Locke's handiwork with a grim satisfaction. When the pillar falls, he takes a step back. "The Nightmare is fading." He says with awe, watching the taint slowly dissapate. He smiles, for the first time since he entered this place. Flesh blasted from him it burns away from Locke the Warlord staggers back a couple steps the swell of glamour flying around him healing his body as quickly as it's blown away from him. When the Redcap's eyes open there is a boiling rage that shows within them, "Wrong. Move. Asshole." He growls back out to him and the kith whirls the scythe around spinning and slicing it carves the figure up into tiny bite sized chunks. Feeling the nightmare drain away the Redcap points the weapon back down toward the remains of the figure. "Don't fucking mess with them from the Peak." He tells it before stepping over the remains of the body wandering toward the pillar to make sure that it continues to crumble and fall away. His eyes flit back over the room a moment and he looks to Sterling, "You might want to get to healing." He says before starting to pick through the remains of the deathknights and the Shade to see if there is anything there he needs to gather up or something holding Skyla. Caerwyn plants his blade into the ground before him, kneeling behind it as the blasts rips through the room shredding off most of his armor and flesh, as the Shade dies his eyes clear. The vision of his old compatriots fading from view. A single tear falls from his eyes as they wink and shift back to glowing his usual yellow "Until next I dream old friends..." he said quietly, with some pain in his voice Well Erin did want to learn to fly but this was far for what she had in mind. Why she did will probably go unanswerd for a while flying ten feet and hitting your head isn't always a good thing as she lays there unconscious. Slowly, Lord Sterling strides across the field towards the Shade, the fury of the sidhe lending dread might to his countenance. Even as one of the fell knights attempts to bar his passage, he steps aside to avoid the blow. "FOR FIONA! FOR THE WHITE ROSE! AMORRRR GLORIAAAAH!!" Leaping forward, his blade cuts a swath through the Shade, scoring a most palpable hit. And then, Locke joins the battle, finishing the job. But at such a cost. He staggers back as the Holly Strike shears into him. Protected by his own magic, the attack ablates away the Oakenshield blessing, leaving him less wounded than the others. As Locke strikes the killing blow, he hefts his sword high. "VICTOR LEONIS ARGENTUM!!" he roars. "THUS EVER FOR THE WICKED!!" He pants for breath, grinding his teeth against the pain of his wounds. He looks around the battlefield, taking note of the wounded where they have fallen. Until his eyes alight on Erin's unconscious form. The one thing that can bring fear to the heart of a Fiona is a threat to a loved one. Sterling's face pales, his sword clanging to the ground as he bolts to her side. "Erin!" he gasps, dropping to her knees. Fingers press to her throat as he checks for a pulse, trembling hands checking her for wounds. Then, holding one of her hands in his own, he presses it to his heart. Eyes drift closed as he turns his face towards the sky. "O ye Powers of Heather and Healing, hear and attend! It is I, Lord Richard Sterling, son of the Silver Lion, who calls you! To the Graces Fair and Lords of Night, I consecrate this woman. I demand their healing power be laid upon her!" Muttering quietly in language that has not been heard by mortals since the days before the Dreaming was Sundered, he fashions his Glamour into a cantrip, working to heal her injuries. The Deathknights are slowly fading away, the Nightmare that gave them breath dissipating from them until there is nothing left but hollow marks outlining their bodies...and even those get washed away by the steady stream of water that lingers in the chamber. The Shade, as well, has dissipated back to whatever hellish corner of the Dreaming houses such beasts. Besides the scattering of bones, all of which remain very real, nothing is in the room to Locke's, or anyone's observation. Karth stands fully from his position, the muscle tissue and sinew of those opens wounds slapping back into place. He starts to limp about, looking around the room as the dark glamour disintegrates, before peering about to the healing Sterling. He appears to be slowly becoming fine again. He does give Caerwyn and glance, stepping over to the man to simply pat him on the shoulder from behind, seeing as he understand exactly what just happened with the man. He offers no words though, maybe his larynx isn't healed up fully yet. XD" Ernst brings his hammer up, gazing into the flame for a few long moments before breathing over it, the magical flame slowly dissapating as if the Troll puts out a candle. And then hangs it over his back. He walks a bit stiffly, a roadmap of cracks and gashes coiling over the Troll's body, heavy bootsteps taking him over to Caerwyn. "There are more battles to fight. And more friends that need protecting." A massive hand lowers, offered to the Sidhe. "There is never time for rest. Those of old are never forgotten" Erin is breathing, she just litterly got the win taken out of her well she might have a nice goose egg in the back of her head well till Sterling picks her up and demand for healing. There isn't any blood but there is something different in her hair or maybe it's the light that's hitting her weird. She groans a little bit as she seems to be coming around. Locke frowns as bits start to fade out and he reaches down to scoop up the skull of Shade looking at it before he drops it into one of the big pockets inside of it and he looks back to the others for a moment, "Ow." Is all he says when he looks at how blasted they are. A frown on his lips for a moment before giving his head a shake, "That ain't good. And fuck I have to pay for drinks. Free at Icepeak I suggest a soak in the spring. Good for burns." Hot water generally bad for it... but those springs are not usual. But then he frowns and looks around counting head... "Son of a bitch..." he starts walking back toward the corridor his head looking over his shoulder, "Ya'll look good." He says before calling out into the corridor, "SLAINE!?" His voice booming out down it as he calls for where the Satyr went. Caerwyn gives a small dip of his head, huffing out a soft command his blade extinguishes and he rises unsteadily to his feet "Aye. Always another battle my friends." Sterling's face breaks into a broad smile as Erin starts to stir. "Oh thank the -Graces-!" he says, sweeping his arms around her and cradling her close. Rocking her gently, holding her as though she might dissipate like the Shade did. "Praise Their goodness. Praise Their goodness," he mutters over and over. "Oh Erin. My sweetest Erin. My dear, brave girl." He presses a couple of kisses to her face, stroking her hair. He glances over at the other members of the party. "A moment, comrades, and I shall come and see to you!" He looks back down at Erin. "The others are injured, dear Erin. Are you all right? Can I leave you be for a time? I'll just be over there, with the others. I want you to rest here for a time and not move too suddenly. All right? Can you do that for me?" Karth turns a bit to Locke, snickering a little bit as he releases Caerwyns shoulder and walking with a bit less of a limp, and faster even, as those wounds simply continue to mend. "I'm sure we'll meet her on the way out." he mentions to Locke as the ever regenerating Sidhe passes him up, his duty done here, and starts to slowly move off back down the tunnels. "Wonder what's down those other passages..." he says quietly. Erin looks just a tad lost but rubs the back of her head giving Sterling a nod "Yes go see to them" wow no cuss words she must of hit her head really hard or something. She sits there trying to get her bearings with a bit of a lost look in her eyes, hey getting knocked out can do that. She does try to smile at STerling to show him that she's alright.
