Dunneghainlaiagh xxxxxDwelling in his mountaintop cave, the dragon Dunneghainlaiagh is only seventy years into his newest rebirth. Over 1400 years old in total, 'Donlan' is reborn every 350 years. His form is weak compared to what he had recently grown used to. He has dwelt in the cave for the last four years, slowly building up the courage to reenter mortal society. He has a hoard to rebuild, and power to regain...and a new generation of mortals to grow to understand all over again. Biography xxxxxDonlan was born in the year 572 AD, in a rocky gorge just north of Hadrian's Wall in Anglo-Saxon Britain. His parents were the great dragons Aynwindarghial, and Brynnsiavvdna. They had been driven from their mountaintop lair in southern Britain by dragon hunters, and were hiding away in a hideous gorge when Donlan came into the world. xxxxxWhen he was still young, only 120, his mother and father were slain by a gathering of soldiers sent by the kingdom of Mercia. This left the young dragonling alone. He spent long periods of time masquerading as a human, and he found himself intensely interested in the mortals around him. He spent the majority of his time in Britain, watching the world change around him. Every 350 years he was 'reborn', becoming a Wyrmling again and growing up all over again, though he always maintained he memories from his previous 'lives'. It is the Dragon way. xxxxxIn the 18th Century he left for the American Colonies. Again he began to ingratiate himself into the human world, and Donlan joined the Patriots against the British, eager to see what a free America might be like. He played several small, but key roles in the war. He lived for years in Boston, and then New York, watching American begin to form. In the 19th Century he found himself in Canada. xxxxxSeventy years ago he was reborn once again, and he traveled far from where he had settled in Quebec. He found himself lairing in a small Cray outside of the city of Prospect, watching it begin to grow and blossom. Now, he is finally strong enough to venture out again.
