Introduction
Walkers-Green.png

We've embraced the new reality, hoping that this kind of compromise can give us a better path for survival. And along the way, we've done what we had to do. Picked up the weapons that were available.

Gaia-Green.png

People call it the Scab. But the fact is, the cities are the only path to Gaia's survival. Building green cities and concentrating the population of humankind within them might be our only viable option to hold out against the destruction and fight for change on the ground, the only way to hold on to what little earth we have left. Humanity is part of the equation, regardless of how the Talons feel (and there are days when I agree with them, AND that guy in the Matrix.)

Like it or not, the Nation has to change to survive.

  • She Runs Guns - Chess is in the family business. "Balistreri" means, literally, "crossbow maker"--so missile weapons have been in the family for quite a while. She learned gunsmithing from one uncle and weapons trading from another, back in Chicago, and was subsequently sent off to establish her own business in arms trading, mainly for the Garou and aligned parties. Environmental saboteur? New Walker in need of armaments? Streetwalker desiring to off a pimp? Gotcha covered.
  • Famiglia - Within the Glasswalkers and in criminal / law circles, Balistreri is one of those names. A well-established organized crime family based in Chicago, the family has held their own little piece of the city's "business" and yet somehow managed to keep things just a little cleaner on their side of the street. Think Johnny Marcone, the crime boss with a conscience from Dresden Files. It's the new Cosa Nostra, still doing some drug trade, but also significant players in the world of white-collar and internet crime. The FBI *definitely* has a file on her, and she's been a person of interest in more than one investigation... but she's never been on trial. Not yet, anyway. Local law enforcement might be aware of her by name.
  • Street - Let's talk.
  • Militant Kin - Chess is in favor of arming the Kinfolk, both to make them better allies and to enable them to protect themselves against any Garou abuse. She's a fierce advocate for victims of domestic abuse, and developed a reputation in Chicago for being more outspoken than Kinfolk ought to be. And yet, somehow, that backbone earned her a modicum of respect. Maybe because she offered her arguments with respect and courtesy, having been raised right.
  • (Ex?)-Addict - Arrived in town with a heroin addiction. Probably bought some drugs.
  • Chicago and Los Angeles - Spent time in either city? Chess is known in criminal spheres in Los Angeles, and someone from Chicago would recognize her last name if they follow the news or the crime world at all.
