Introduction [ edit ] Gallery [ edit ] History Yu Yan Kuwong is the daughter of Sun Kuwong the infamous Monkey King of Chinese legend. Created by her father from a single hair from his body Yu Yan was named for her beautiful smile. She is really known for 3 things. First is her street magic. It is said she has performed for emperors and peasants alike. Second is her legendary ability to drink enough to literally kill an elephant. There are Chinese drinking songs of her ability to put away the liquor. Lastly her love of pranks and practical jokes. If the stories are true she would give a Nuwisha a run for his money any day of the week. She vanished from the middle kingdom sometime around the early 1800's. Many claim she returned to the Celestial Courts to serve the Jade Emperor in his court. Others claim she traveled east seeking adventure and glory, and a few believe she became lost in the world of spirits. Whatever the truth is only Yu Yan knows it and has never mentioned a word about it. She returned sometime in the early 1980's or that is the first time the infamous Monkey was seen in San Francisco's China Town.
