He eats some meat, sips his beer and gets out his pipe. He packs it, and pulls out a small spill, which he lights in the fire and uses to light his pipe. "In this place where now we have peace, there was little." he says "And in this place, there dwelt Lord Kerne." he puffs on his pipe "And in the hills grew that which was twisted and evil. The green fires burned in the night and disease and twisted plants and creatures abounded and this was not a land that was fit."

| − | Aodhan keeps walking back and forth smoking "The garou and the bete could not have this, if they wanted to live in this land then Lord Kerne had to be driven out." he says "The Garou and the Bete did not want each other to be here, the second war of rage weighed heavily on minds of both sides." he says "And the death of the Camazotz." he rubs a tear from his cheek and throws a piece of meat into the fire. "Well, it is easy to see the bete would not trust the Garou, and the Garou would be looking for retribution." he sips his beer and puffs his pipe. "So it is of little note that the Garou and the Bete tried separately to drive Lord Kerne away from this land."

"There were losses on both sides, burns and corruption." he says "And alone they were decemated." he puffs his pipe "Fully one in ten warriors were dead or never able to bring battle to the Wyrm again. The bete suffered as baddly." he says "And so the leaders of the Garou, and the Bastet, and even the Ratkin with their hatred from the first War of Rage." he says "All came together in a council of war, for none could face any Incarna of the Wyrm alone, much less Lord Kerne the Maeljin of Balefire."

"The war council went as you can expect with everyone arguing with everyone, but finally a leader stepped up." he says "A Philodox who was able to bring balance to the conversation. He talked them into a plan that brought the strengths of each into a cohesive whole." he says and takes a bit of meat to eat "Now this group of garou and bete went out and did battle with the Incarna, and tho many were killed they drove the wyrm from this land, Lord Kerne was forced away but not destroyed." he says "But here there were Garou and Bete who had an alliance, and they needed each other to push away the Wyrm and make the land livable. And so the same Philodox who lead them into battle broke ground here for the Smoke and Barley." he says "And he, along with the leader of the Ratkin and the leader of the Bastet, they summoned a pure and clean elemental of fire, and laid this fire here." he says "And together they made a pledge that all would be welcome here so long as the fire burned, and they held to the peace of the fire here."
