The Others A varied group, full of varied ideals. They have the power to work wonders. Sometimes they even use that power wisely. There are a handful of good ones out there, but not many. At their best, they're oversexed survivalists. At their worst, they're authoritarian monsters. We're our own memories of ourselves, persisting after death. Our passions are all that we have, but with those, we can do a great deal. Their essence is life and hope, everything that we've lost. We belong in different worlds. The Quran teaches us that the jinn are beings made by Allah from smokeless fire. Some of them think themselves the equals of angels. Also, they are the whiniest, most self-important people I have ever met.
