Dai grew up in the small town of Kayodai, near Mount Fuji. His parents were abusive and impoverished, and he hated his life. Even from childhood he -knew- there was something special about himself, but he could never really put his finger on it. He loathed this sense of superiority that couldn't quite be placed. In an attempt to be done with it all he snuck out to Aokigahara, the Suicide Forest, at age fourteen to attempt to take his own life by hanging. It was only when he was dangling there, suffocating, that he went through his First Change.

Dai was born a fox. He was born and raised on the lower rises of Mt. Fuji, in Japan. He was always a curious, dark little fox, who looked where he should not look, and pondered things he should not have pondered.
