Mastriel, Angel of the Wild, Aruru of the sixth house, she who brought the pleasure of sensation to the creatures of the earth, including the woman. After the Fall, she would end up in Genhinom where she would become a consort of Lucifer.  Unlike the majority of the Rabisu, Mastriel was not yet moved to loathe the children of Adam & Eve.  She was still hurt and disappointed that after the fallen had given all, the first man and woman had repaid them with abandonment and a return to God.  And how could deconstruction be the reward for repentance?  In those times if God had offered pardon, Mastriel would have gladly fallen at his feet and begged forgiveness.  But when repentance was synonymous with death....she feared.  Lucifer's rendezvous' with Mastriel were always under cover of darkness.  He convinced her that if it became known how much he loved her she would be a target for the host.

And so it was that Mastriel was sent hither to Dudael. For although Abaddon had pledged fealty to MorningStar, Lucifer needed eyes and ears among the Ebon Legion.  With her supreme mastery over flesh, Abaddon assigned her to the dungeons as a torturor.  For who could be more fearsome then one who controls tactile sensations?  Mastriel would never claim great position, but to the mortals and the host who had the misfortune to fall on her rack, her face would never be forgotten.  It was a horror for Mastriel in the beginning, but the more she was exposed to the plans of the host to destroy her people, the more she tortured answers out of humans who planned to destroy her in the name of God, the colder she grew.  Her confessions were among the darkest stories of the war and she would weep after hearing the plans of this or that angel who had once been a friend before the fall.  Then came the second hammer to her psyche.

Lucifer had many consorts.  And while loyal Mastriel sacrificed everything in her chastity, he was spreading himself to the winds with other demons across the world.  She even heard the lies he told to her out of the mouth of another fallen who believed, as she did, that when the war was over she would sit by the Morningstar's side and rule the Dominion of Earth.  In disgust, Mastriel told Abaddon everything and then began her degeneration.  Abaddon was cruel and evil, but as malefic as he was, he didn't lie to her as Lucifer, God, and mankind had done.  This became the standard by which Mastriel judged for the rest of time.

By the Time of Babel, Mastriel had no faith left in Lucifer.  Her bed was closed to him after The Long March to Babel.  With Abaddon she surrendered to his will, but there was love no longer.  She continued in her duties of torture which most of the host would be surprised to know that Lucifer condoned.  But like all of her accomplishments after the fall, this too would never come to light.  Many of the Malhim would be her victims.

When at last the fallen were defeated, Mastriel came proudly to accept her fate.  The sentence was terrifying but it wasn't worse than death....or so she thought.  She defied God and the Angels of Justice one last time before walking into the Gates of Hell.  "Your God is like a capricious and cruel child," she mocked the host.  "Created were we to serve as an example of what not to do for mankind.  Created were we with knowledge aforethought by Him that we would one day be here.  Our existence is nothing but a cruel joke and He is laughing now.  Ye members of the fortunate host, you were created to do this to us.  And I hope it sinks into the pit of your stomachs and into your souls as you praise His name that you were created to inflict this horror on your brothers and sisters, those who were once your lovers and friends.  This war will not save mankind for they were created as flawed beings.  In time they will forget you, they will forget Him.  The Curse of Caine will drive them to greater and greater atrocities and our imprisonment will be as nothing.  You will watch as their evils rise stinking to heaven greater even then ours.  God created an evil race and cursed us to love them."  A finger then pointed to Lucifer.  "And you are no better."  And Michael answered her, "Mastriel, because of your lust for the pure blood of man you shall forever hunger for it.  Without a sacrifice of undefiled blood you shall have no power.  You shall be the weakest of your brethren."  After this dark portent was proclaimed, Mastriel walked willingly into Hell and in due course, was imprisoned with the rest....except Lucifer.

The Abyss was a horrible place, the darkness, the loneliness, the void.  It was the eternal mental asylum but made only to contain and not to cure.  Mastriel watched as all of her companions went mad, and in time, she joined them.  Mastriel remained loyal to Abaddon and the Raveners throughout the imprisonment.  But without the virgin blood she was nearly powerless for the length of her imprisonment.  It disgusted her to see the infighting among the damned but Abaddon never lied to her, and that was something.  It was a crushing blow when the archdukes were removed from Hell by mortal magi and then petty tyrants fell to even more foolish conflicts.  Mastriel clung to a small number of Rabisu she could trust and waited.  Still, because of Michal's curse it was easy for her to be victimized by other demons of rival factions, whether for humiliation or pleasure or both. Had Abaddon escaped? Did that mean she too could escape.  Was he as some claimed sharing in Lucifers punishment?  Mastriel could not believe this as in her heart of hearts she believed God has pardoned Lucifer and the Morningstar had betrayed them from the start, the agent of God's monstrous will.  But she knew that she must escape to regain her power and so she waited.  When the Maelstrom finally cracked open the walls of the Abyss, Abaddon called to Mastriel to join him...and she came; rejoicing even as she fought with the spirits of the dead to rise from the pit, laughing as her flesh was torn and bruised by their skeletal hands.  Abaddon had not forsaken her, but then she felt it, the pull of the Abyss trying to take her back to the torment below.  She knew she could not stay here without an anchor.  The wailing of a woman reached her ears, it was an agonizing cry that prayed for death and Mastriel hastened toward it to answer the prayer.

THE UNHOLY UNION

MASTRIEL

ERZSEBET

Erzsebet was the only child of Heinrich Klaussenburg. Heinrich, like many Nazi doctors during WWII, escaped to America after the war. He was fortunate that the tribunal for war crimes could not gather enough evidence to convict him, but he was horrible nonetheless. Heinrich had a young wife during his old age but she died shortly after giving birth to Erzsebet. She died because Heinrich killed her over imagined infidelity. No one would ever know. During the seventies when the child was merely three years old, Her father was charged with negligence and abuse as the methods by which he treated the mentally ill were far from Humane. It was the practice of the day however and so once again, the Nazi avoided the worst punishment. His asylum in California was shut down until it could be recreated into a place of healing.

Erszebet was not a man, and Heinrich desperately wanted his legacy to continue. She was brought up by the cruel man and taught the inferiority of the patients, the Jews, and other colored people, and even the slothful poor. Erzsebet wanted very badly to please her father and under his whip she graduated Medical School at the age of merely 20 years. He allowed her to date but none of the men were ever good enough and never would be. He told her that men would take her money and her name and set all of his work to ruin.

In College, Erzsebet began to experiment with women. Her father suspected her depravity but never discouraged her from having girlfriends over. If she was gay she would never lose his fortune or his name to some unworthy man. But eventually the heiress wanted children and much to her fathers chagrin she started dating another psychiatric student at UCLA.

Erzeebet got pregnant and James wanted to marry her to do the right thing. Her father raged. Heinrich and James went on a fishing trip into the Atlantic from which James never returned. He had wanted to go swimming and drowned. Police accepted the story, Erzsebet did not. She hated her father from that day forth.

Heinrich claimed he cared for her and the child and was very interested in the beginning. Then they discovered it was to be a useless girl. Heinrich had wanted a grandson but no. His attitude was very hurtful to his daughter but the man had no heart. He started Erzsebet on a regimen of vitamins which were not vitamins at all. The child, who would have been Jaime Klaussenburg, was stillborn, poisoned. Erzsebet was broken and with her childs body and blood soaking her dress, ascended to the rooftop of the hospital with every intent of casting herself and her dead child from the tower. She cried out to heaven in confusion and grief. God didn't answer, but someone did. Erzsebet should not have survived the fall, but she did. A part of her did anyway...and thus was Mastriel reborn to the world of man. One year later, Heinrich died on a sailing trip, eerily similar to the way James had died. The demon inherited everything, and reopened the Klaussenburg Psychiatric Hospital under a more compassionate veneer. It would become a private hell for some, and a refuge for the Raveners of Prospect County.
