=Setting=

Within the tall brick walls of this near-endless cemetery rests hundreds, if not thousands of graves. Those that met their final days, only leaving their tombstone as a mark on this living world. Most of the gravestones are marble and some have been fashioned into large statues. Emotionless marble Angels stand sentinel at random intervals. Various squat buildings, ancient stone crypts, act as markers for major families that have lived within the city for generations. 

This graveyard is so large and unsettling that the shadows themselves tend to play tricks on the eyes if one sneaks in during the twilight hours. After dark, the gate is locked and the sign reads No Trespassing. This resting place is kept in wonderful condition, the lawn is tended and one would be hard-pressed to find even a candy wrapper on the earth of this resting place. 

Beyond the burial grounds to where the office sits locked uptight sits the crematorium and the mortuary building holding the remains of those who opt for cremation. With the addition of the special mausoleum to house, the remains workers can be found late into the evening.

=Scene=

The cemetery this last at night has no mourners and not even those who frequent the cemetery to commune with the dead, or someone needing a place to shroud a victim when Floyd arrives. The Artificer looks around as dead twigs and grass crunch under his feet. 

<SHADOW> Hey! You sure you want to do this? We don't NEED them, Trevor! We never needed them! There's nothing for us back there!

"Shut it." Floyd continues to look around as he makes his way to an older area of the cemetery. "We got business to take care of across the street, remember? Besides, the only way we're gonna figure out the connection between all the bullshit down here is to take a look of bullshit up there while we work." Floyd adds with dark humor, "Besides, I thought you wanted to play."

<SHADOW> Well if you're gonna be dumb about it I might as well have some fun on the way down. *Floyd can feel the Shadow grin from ear to ear* Remember your promise!

"I know." Floyd says. "Sunrise to sunset is me, sunset to sunrise is you." He says. "Try not to get us immolated or, worse, hunted."

<SHADOW> I won't get us immolated! Ye of little faith! *The Shadow can be felt cackling* 

The area of the cemetery Floyd gets to is not the oldest stones in the cemetery. However, grass and weeds have begun to grow over the tombstones and grave markers. The gravestone Floyd stops at, and then looks down toward is a simple grave marker. A placard of marble stone that reads 'MATTHEWS 1975-1998'. 

<SHADOW> So are we _seriously_ just Fetter-Maintaining for this trip? No raping women, partying down, doing whatever we want since we can't really get in trouble for it now? Cuz you know...we're dead?

"God no." Floyd grumbles. "We're not partying down! I want to get rid of the Quick and the only way to do that is to work out our connections." He lets out a grumble. "All the Quick do is disappoint. You ready?"

<SHADOW> Oooooh yeah. I was born ready. Let's spit in the Legion's eye and DO THIS.

The corpse is cold. Rot has given way to semi-solid matter, stiff and unmoving in it's coffin. Dressed in the remnants of the three-piece suit that he was buried in. Fermaldahyde and death-stains make the environment smell foul and rancid. Then. Together, Psyche and Shadow rip through the shroud.

The barrier between the living and the dead wallow as the soul and the body become confused of which is which. Plasm floods the dry corpse, seeping into pores and the interiors of the body that give the body flesh. Angst, the raw power of the shadow, pervade the organs that give them half-life. Then the eyes pop open as flesh becomes plasmically fluid, restoring the body to an anthesis of it's original state. The milky eyes flood with plasm as color returns to Floyd's eyes and then blink. The body shudders with unlife, the force of psyche and shadow willing the body to move as bones become adjusted to movement again after a decade of death. Then, the body stops as eyes look around the coffin that the body is buried in. 

"...HA!" Floyd laughs with a stiff jaw. The Shadow, claiming dominion. "Hahahaha!!" He says. "We did it!" He lets in a phantom breath, and acrid scents come out of his mouth when the lungs breath out. He tries to stretch but the coffin doesn't let the corpse move much. "Let's just stay here. Like one of those hotel pods! Just far more...you know. Morbid!"

<PSYCHE> "Dude!" Floyd grumbles. "Pull a Night of the Living Dead and dig us out of here! YOU were the one who wanted to take over at nighttime!"

"GAHHHH!" Floyd grits his teeth. "FINE!" As the corpse begins the agonizing process of clawing out of the coffin.

Hands break through the coffin with strong fists, snapping wood panels and ripping cloth until dirt begins to flood into the coffin burying the body alive. Floyd continues to punch and dig through dirt, the tie around his neck getting caught on coffin shards that rip as the decision to Rise puts the Shadow forward. Grave earth grips into Floyd's fingers until plunging his hand forward hits open air and pulls himself up into the open world.

Floyd pushes, pulls and shimmies out of the dirt and hits the ground with a thud. He claws at the grass pulling the rest of his body out of the small hole he managed to get himself through and then stumbles to his feet, falling shortly afterwards. The act of walking, itself, is a task. "HAHA!" Floyd laughs as he uses a gravestone to get to his feet.
