It is almost noon and the sun is approaching its zenith, Parker has found her way to La Amapola Park near the intersection of Beach and Broadway. There she has parked her motorcycle and walked into the center. She's claimed a picnic table and is actually lighting up one of the grills with a small supply of charcoal she's brought to cook the makings of for lunch which are likely contained in the brown paper bag sitting on the table next to her.

He is a Corax. That is all the reason he needs to be anywhere, really. There is no such thing as 'private property' or 'shoo, shoo, get away from my food you bloody bird!'. For one such as thing, it is all fair game.

And didn't he see a familiar face down there? And, with her back turned, he comes in for a landing so that when she turns back once more, she'll find a whopping large, very black, raven perched on the far end of the picnic table. Looking at her, as if waiting for something.

Turning to reach into the bag, Parker sees the raven and cocks her head to one side. Out of the bag come containers with chicken breast halves, pineapple slices, bacon strips and lettuce leaves as she says, "Why hello there," to the bird despite the stares this earns her from a passing jogger.

She is dressed in her customary gray leather boots, thick black tights and a translucent smoke gray shirt over a black bandeau bra.

She might even recognize it. This raven has a tag on its right ankle. It is special, though, in that is has a strange little cloth around it. But under the cloth can be spied a shiny surface all around it. Almost mirror quality! Its the same thing the raven out in the desert had. Same size bird. He lets out a kraa, leaning his head down to tap-tap-tap on the picnic tables hard surface.

"Well, more than hello," Parker says, "Hello again." She puts a chicken breast on the grill and pulls out a plastic bag with two kaiser rolls, one of which she begins to cut in half. "I have enough for two... people. I don't know if anyone wants to join me," she says to the raven when she's made sure nobody is close enough to mistake it as her talking to them.

The raven knows how to pretend to be a wild raven. Or, rather, a raven that is wild but not afraid enough. City raven, too used to humans to fear them! All mannerisms points to that as he hop-hops a bit closer on the table, eyeing the food. He keeps a '''''very''''' sharp eye out, making sure no one is near as he then speaks in low tones using that amazing power of magic his kind usually has, "Did you ever find out anything about the stones?"

Parker pulls a brush and a small bottle of olive oil out of the bag and applies the second to the split roll with the first. Then onto the grill goes the bacon and the chicken is flipped with a pair of tongs that come out of the bag. "No," she says, "I got distracted but really aught to look into that further because those plants did seem so out of place for the desert." After a brief pause she asks, "Am I making two of these?" indicating the as yet to be completed sandwich.

The raven does not get too close. Getting too close would be out of character for a raven like him. He does watch, though, with hungry eyes, "No. No. Just the bacon." he replies, having been silent a few moment as a curious passerby had looked at the two but then moved on, "I do like bacon." he silences, "The plants. And the stones. The stones were not normal. Really strange. I am disappointed. I thought you would have had its secrets by now."

Parker laughs. "So you could pry them from me of course," she says as she puts some more bacon on the grill and tosses one of the original pieces to the raven. She then puts a slice of provolone on the chicken and the bread open side down on also.

You can't sneak up on a raven. The bird is nothing if not very, very observant. No one gets too close to hear him talking to her. This is not the Veil Breach you are looking for *wing motion*. The bird lifts his head up to snap the bacon easily, "Oh, thanks." he says almost dryly, "I get the raw bacon. Not even fried." he pauses, "Pry you of secrets? Is that what you think of me?"

Parker begins assembling the sandwich: chicken on the lower bun, lettuce retrieved from its container then the two best of three strips of bacon (the third is tossed to the raven), then the grilled pineapple slice and the top of the roll. "Well, your kind is known for wanting to get and share all the secrets of the world of course," she says as she stands near the low burning grill for extra warmth and then takes the first crunchy bite of her sandwich.

"My kind is known?" The raven replies to this, still in hushed tones, but trying to sound surprised, "I was not aware! Such strange rumours about such a regal race as my own. That such claims abound about us." he really tries to sell off the innocent routine.

"My source is irrefutable," Parker says between bites with total sincerity and a tone of voice that brooks no argument. Her statement is alluding to but intentionally not naming Queen Ananasa.

"There is only one Great Irrefutable source!" the raven begins to speak, to which he then silences. He lets out a little kraaa, peering about, "Well, I have to leave you now. Leave you to your sandwich. I have need to be elsewhere. Until I happen upon you again." he hop-hops away a bit, to then spread his wings and take off, bringing with him the offered bacon from before.
