Caressa is sitting on the stool at the end of the counter once more sketching out some jewelry designs.

Johnathan would be standing behind the counter, sketching somewhat himself. Having given Jordan sometime off as he been working a lot to man the store along with the other students.

A pickup truck[2] pulls up in front of Velvet Dreams and figure familiar to the couple running the shop (Parker) gets out of it as well as a man who has the look of a common laborer. Each of them walk around to the back of the truck and grab a cardboard box. The man, stronger than Parker, balances the box he's carrying on his hip and opens the door for her only to follow her into the shop.

Parker leads the worker to the counter and has him set the box he's carrying down next to the one she hefted onto it as well. "Thanks, Rupert," she says to the man and slips a ten dollar bill out of her bra strap and hands it to him.

"Robert," the man corrects her before departing and Parker, shrugging over the correction, turns to address Caressa and her husband. "Hey there, um... sir," she says to him and, "Ma'am," to her. Tapping the box that 'Robert' was carrying she says, "Bolts of silk denem in black, grey, white and..." she smiles at the redheaded woman, "Of course purple. One of each. I also included a bolt of cornsilk blue just for the traditional choice."

Tapping the other box, Parker says, "Some potential stock I thought we could try."

Johnathan smiles broadly as he looks to the boxes "Ah so they finally got delivered then?" nodding to her "Now let me have a look at them" patting on the counter with a smile seeming rather excited, good cloth was always something he looked for. "And Johnathan is fine, no need for formalities really" giving a light hand wave. "Let see these bolts then Parker"

Caressa ooos softly at the mention of the purple and blue. She smiles and offers a wave. "How are you doing Miss Parker. And please either Doctor or Caressa, Ma'am makes me feel old." She chuckles.

Parker says, "Names... are hard, but I'll try to remember that..." she glances at the business card holder as if to remind herself /as/ she's saying it, "Johnathan." Addressing Caressa though she says, "Doctor, yes, I should be able to remember that," to the redhead. "Delivery truck arrived Saturday. Then I had to find a way to get them here. Turned out I knew someone who would loan me a truck," she explains.

Johnathan nods "Always good to have friend, you could just have given me a call and we could have helped you with it" smiling to her "Now let me seem those bolts, I am itching to get my hands on them feel the thread count.. just see what I can make with it" grinning broadly "And if they are as good as those samples you showed, well I am buying more off you" looking to her

Caressa giggles softly, clearly amused by Johnathan. "Better hurry. I've never seen him this excited."

Parker laughs once in a huffy-nasally fashion and opens the other box after pulling it off the counter and setting it down on the floor in front of her. "I only brought a few items, and maybe two or three of each... so I didn't have much to take back if you felt that these specific items don't fit into the theme of your shop, Jo-Nathan," she explains.

Johnathan looks to Caressa "Nonsense, you never seen me this excited about something not you" sticking his tongue out to her and then back to what Parker brought. "If what you made and brought carries heart and effort with them they will find a place in my store, your passion and creativity is what makes a design. If it fits with the rest does not.. my store is about not just following conform, but to express yourself."

Caressa blushes a bit, "Well, yes, of course." She replies to Johnathan, then turns the silver-violet eyes to watch Parker.

"So, I said I had multiples of everything, but this I only felt comfortable packing one into a box," Parker says as she pulls out a neckband with a bow on it and two matching wristbands, all of them red with black highlights. "Those are accent items that go with this..." she bends back down to the box and pulls a red dress with black lace covering it and matching black ribbon laces that extend from neckline to the waistline where the bodice ends and a not to overly fluffy skirt begins.

Holding the dress in front of her she asks, "Par-... a friend and I occasionally went clubbing dressed this way."

Johnathan nods with a smile "Gothic Lolita certainly fits here, I was expecting something that be outside of what I have here. I see no issue at all here" nodding and looking over the material and the cuts for it, how it was put together.

Caressa for now is content to watch and enjoy the sights.

As she lays the dress on the counter Parker says, "Well, its not my typical style, I don't really dress this way anymore. We... grew apart and she lives in Oklahoma still."

Bending back down into the box she pulls out a jacket that looks like an old style miliary jacket (or like something from the cover of the Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover) made out of cornsilk blue colored silk denem. "I have two more in the box, one in white and one in red," she explains as she holds the jacket in front of her.

Johnathan smiles to Parker "I am sorry to hear that. It is a lovely dress though" nodding and looking over the jacket "This is not what I normally consider, but it certainly stands out, not a regular denim jacket. It will easily fit here as well" nodding as he looks over the cut.

Caressa oos softly as she looks over the jacket, "Oh that's cute! Could wear it over my corset." She grins, "That one is going home with me."

Johnathan chuckles "Oh my, the highest praise" nodding "The other colors too?"

Caressa shakes her head, "Just the blue one."

Parker nods at the comment and puts the jacket down then quickly lays out the other two so that they are in red, white and blue order from top to bottom. She says, "I would suggest the white one for you, Doctor, unless its not in your size. They're not exactly one size fits all," and turns to Johnathan and adds, "But of course I can make different sizes on order."

Parker reaches back into the box she pulls up what looks like a long strip of cloth tubes and folds. For this one she actually slips her arms into the tubes - sleaves naturally - and buttons it on. She then pulls up the hood of the black, bolero shurg wrap and turns in place to show it off. "I like hoods, just don't wear them often."

Johnathan smiles "If it is to small we will order the right size, if it is to large it can be fitted. Either way is fine really." tilting his head "Oh well this certainly would fit here. Not that I ever thought something wouldn't really but boleros are always in demand. And hoods are as well" nodding "this certainly is something that people will want."

Caressa reaches for the jacket and then is bouncing off towards the changing room. "I'm not too worried about it fitting."

Parker smiles again and pulls two more of the boleros out before removing the one she was demoing and lays it on the counter with the other two. "Well, if you like hoods..." she says as she reaches down ito the box again.

This time the seamstress pulls out a black, ribbed and hooded sweater with what looks almost like tails but the longer back section isn't split in two. "I have two of these also, both in black," she says while holding the sweater in front of her, with the hood hanging down in front.

Caressa returns from the changing room, carrying the jacket which she hangs onto.

Johnathan smiles "I like it, you are using more common things and making them very diffrent from what is expected" nodding with a smile "Have you considered what you want to name your line here then parker?"

"I've had no ideas that I'm yet willing to present publicly," Parker answers as she lays out both of the hooded sweaters on the counter. "One more major item and then a few things I've crochet as well," she says before reaching into the box again and pulling out a pair of leggings that lace at the waist and have an integral, asymetric, translucent skirt. "I have an idea of doing a dark colored plaid with lighter leggings also but for right now I have a couple of these to offer as stock."

Johnathan nods to her "These will go well with punk, definatly something that will sell, rave could also go well with it" smiling broadly as he looks over the work and feeling the materials used along with observing the diffrent cuts.

Caressa looks down at the jacket she's been holding onto, "How about Dream Weaver?" She offers to Parker.

Parker nods to Caressa. "That's a good suggestion. It fits with the name of the shop, how I think of myself and won't mess with my future plans sometime down the line," she says.

She reaches into the box again and pulls out five lengths of crocheted fabric and lays them on the counter. One she picks up and throws around her neck and fastens in place with a button the size of a half dollar which just fits though the weave. "As the weather cools down for the winter I think these will sell well," she says.

Caressa reaches out to feel one of the cowls. "Might be a little warm for a California winter. We get just cool enough to make leather comfortable." She steals a glance of Johnathan's back side. "Though some wear it year round."

Johnathan nods "Dreamweaver it is then" smirks and looks to Caressa "I know how to stay cool, all year around love" winking to her

Parker removes the neckwrap and reaches into the box againi but stays bent over a bit longer only to come up with a bunch of crochet gloves. She is, in fact, wearing two, non-matching, fingerless gloves - one in rainbow colors and the other in earthy tones - whose mates are in the pile of gloves. "These may be a niche product but they also won't take up a lot of space," she says as she shows them off, particularly the ones she is wearing.

Caressa gasps and goes wide-eyed at seeing the fingerless gloves. The psychiatrist/jeweler has never seen anything like it before. "Those are amazing!!" She looks to Johnathan, "I think you need a blue pair." A sage, goofy, nod is given.

Johnathan chuckles "Do you have a pair of blue or can make a blue pair?" looking to Parker with a smile. "It seems my wife very much likes what you have to bring, and in my eyes no higher praise can be given"

"I'll need to get some thread dyed properly," Parker says and then asks Caressa, because apparently her opinion on this is more important than Johnathan's, "Cornsilk dye I have, would you prefer darker blues? Perhaps variegated?"

Caressa mms and giggles, "Sapphire and silver, if you can, please."

  2. This was obviously either borrowed from Erin or Ray based on their offers the day before (see 2020-10-26: Someone's Secret Shared). My money is on Ray because he likely has the contacts to provide the day worker that came with Parker also where as I doubt Erin would be able to. ~~~~
